Ro mission, u have to do 4 mission and complete them to get this spell.

Once casted, aura appear in your aura window, and add mana regen (as chanter), reduce combat effect (as cleric), could be done pretty fast with a good bard pulling (ty Cantar :P).
As you zone, seems you do not loose aura, till you leave group, Btw !

Just like DoD, this spell is the result of a series of missions.

As it turns out, this spell is the result of the 3rd Ro mission. You do not have to have any other missions completed to receive this spell, if someone who has starts it.

I picked up this spell today on the chanter, it's a self buff player based AE that seems to affect your group only, working in a similar way to a bard song. Any group member within range benefits from the effect(distance of effect is ??). The large and small of it is that if move out of range of the chanter with this effect then it fades, move closer and it takes hold again. From what I can tell, this lvl70 version regens at about FT5 or 6, haven't checked if it zones with you, but once you cast it, you can't recast until it fades. (correct me if I'm wrong here)

Auras can be "removed" from the aura window by highlighting it & clicking remove by the person who casted the aura. Yes it zones with the enchanter.

This spell was a reward from a task given by an npc in NRo (Or Elddar Forest??) I believe, I can't remember the name as I did not pick up the task myself, but the mission was in a Ruins of Takish instance with an initial task of speaking with Queen XxxX who can be found in a small tower to the SouthEast of NRo(my memory of names on this task isn't too good here, I wasn't expecting to see this spell as a result! If I had known, I would have paid attention hehe). Pretty vague info I know, but at least it's a starting point I guess.

I don't know what both you smoking.. First off, Chanter is considered more of a pet class then a Bard, I guess you can stretch Bards, being ""Jack of all trades"" into a pet class.. because they can charm, But by no means this gives them ****** of "Pet class". Chanters arn't much better because you do have to wait till very high lvl's to even get commands on your pet. And, one more thing to add about your little speal on pet classes Fist... Magicians Are pet class also. In fact they are the Main pet class. My 2cp

I'm not sure why you think we're BOTH smoking something, since essentially, you're agreeing with me. I never said that Enchanter pets were all that great. Even with Animation Empathy, our pets are hardly viable DPS, unlike those of the Magician and the Beastlord. With the possible exception of the Druid and the Shadowknight, Enchanters have the weakest pet of all. Moreover, unlike other pet classes, we have no way to heal our pets. Rune them, yes. Heal them, no. We don't have any special buffs or procs to give them, except those that we can cast on ANYONE, such as Haste and Night's Dark Terror.

But the point was, regardless of our pet's viability, we DO get all of the spells common to pet classes, like Reclaim Energy, Summon Companion, and Tiny Companion, and all of the AAs that are common to pet classes, such as Pet Affinity. No, our pets will never bring home the difference between an easy victory and a total wipeout, nor will they ever turn a group's bad DPS to uber DPS, but they are pets. And as such, their owners are indeed a pet class, although no one is suggesting that the pet should be the Enchanter's main contribution to a group. But then again, even those with more powerful pets have considerably more to offer a group than just a great pet.

There is a spell on Lucy called "Illusionist's Aura Effect" I would assume that is what the pet does when it's cast. Also located at: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=8510.

Effects are as follows:

Slot 11: Increase Mana by 5 per tick
Group v2 AE range of 60.

Seems to be like a Cleric's Ward with the regen. Now that would be sweet. I would assume it would go in the song window as does a Ward's effect does? Dunno looks awesome tho.

The only description of this I see is "summon pet." Is this some new pet we get at level 70? If it is, that's kind of a strange name for the spell, and why use the graphic for DD spells if it's a pet? Why not the usual pet graphic?

Note, that is also the graphic Alla uses for focus effects, and Warriors get a similar "spell" Champion's Aura with an equally vague description. Wondering if there isnt some Dreadspire keep quest that rewards you with some aura-type abilities (similar to healers current aura of restoration totem things).

You guys sure this isn't the doppleganger aa? I think that allkhazams just gets raw data so none of these may actually exist as spells but simply the spell like effects of the aa's they actually are.

I've been seeing some 70th level folks -- not Enchanters -- conjuring a gargoyle looking pet that lasts for the duration of one fight, like Wizzie swords and Cleric hammers. Perhaps Enchanters will get their own version.

It could be the (severely overrated) Doppelganger AA. The other two new spells seem to duplicate AAs.

No, those aren't it. I've seen the gargoyle swarm pet (although I'm perplexed by the fact that Bards -- who aren't a pet class -- get a swarm pet, while Enchanters -- who are a pet class -- don't) and this isn't it. For one thing, Bards aren't doing this. Necros are. For another, there is only one human sized-pet, not the Bards 3-5 small gargoyles.

That's correct. Bards are not a pet class. Charmed mobs are not pets. They are charmed mobs. Don't believe me? Cast the spell Summon: Companion on a charmed mob. (Oh, that's right. Bards don't get that spell - or a song that does something similar - do they?) Guess what message you'll get? "You do not have a pet." Spend the AAs to get Pet Affinity (Oh, wait. Bards don't get that either, do they?) and see the buffs cast on your group NOT land on your charmed mob.

The differences between a charmed mob and a pet are so numerous as to make your post seem like it was written by an idiot. When a pet caster dies, for example, the pet has the courtesy to discorporate. A charmed mob, by contrast, is likely to become a menace to your party should you die, especially if your group took the time to buff it.

If I sound unduly harsh, I mean to be. I really have no sympathy for obnoxious twits who pretend not to understand a point, just to try to make someone appear foolish. If you truly didn't understand the point of my previous post -- that Enchanters are a class who can conjure a pet to serve them while not getting a swarm pet, while bards, who cannot conjure pets to serve them, nonetheless do get a swarm pet -- then you are an idiot. Kindly restrict your comments to something useful, and stop making a troll out of yourself.

Oh and one other thing Chantertime, There is a Gargoyle pet that ANY class can summon. It is a Veteran AA called Steadfast Servant which summons a familiar type pet which casts heals, haste, AC buffs etc... I seriously doubt that you have that specific award since it's only given to people who've been on the game for 5 yrs or more. But... Just like GW Bush, you seem rather willng to espouse an opinion based on very little evidence or knowledge. Oh and By the way I know this Firsthand because I have the Steadfast Servant Ability on both of my accounts... DO YOU ? LMAO....!

My thanks to those who tried to answer my question regarding the mysterious gargoyle pet I was seeing. I saw it again, and I quickly asked about it. I might have gotten an answer on this board, but I bungled a few of the salient aspects of this pet on my observation.

For one thing, Necros aren't conjuring this pet, contrary to what I stated earlier. Magicians are actually the culprits. I had assumed by its appearance (it more closely resembles the spectre pets of the Necromancer than any of the Elementals that Magicians conjure) that our group's Necromancer was doing this. And I was mistaken when I said it lasted for the duration of one fight. It's a fixed duration of a few ticks and it will vanish at the spell's completion whether the mob is still standing or not. It's the Magician's spell, Raging Servant. Looks like a real kicker of a pet.

That's not a gargoyle. It's an imp. If you're familiar with the Enchanter Spell: Illusion: Imp, you'll see that it's identical to the graphic used for the Steadfast Servant. I'm familiar with Steadfast Servant and this isn't it either. This is human-sized, and unlike Steadfast Servant, it is most definitely not a non-combatant. I'll ask about the next time I see it, and I'll tell you.

Freud called it pe_nis envy I cald it BARD envy... whatever the case... bards are HYBRID Chanters, just like Shadowknights are Hybrid Necromancers... and Paladins are Hybrid Clerics. Aside from the fact that Bards are the DO ALL class, they have the ability to charm just about any NPC just like Enchanters. OH and Chanters never really get Pets they get Animations NOT PETS... I think Verant went to great lengths to make that clear since Chanters only gain the ABILITY to control their ANIMATIONS Post 60 and even then only through AA's so PLEASE don't tell me what IS and IS not a pet class. Shamman's don't e even get their first pet until 32 and it is Summon a companion Spirit. Necromancers and Beastloards are the ONLY hardcore pet classes but YES Bards are a pet class so suck it up and deal with it. What I really miss is the good old days when bard fear worked on PC's... would have been fun to catch you and your Pet / animation in lower guk and put some FEAR on yo ****... then use my gate hammer to leave you and your ANIMATION alone for certain death. My main point here... S T F U ... If I wasn't a PET class then why is a charmed mob considered my pet ? Thanks Plz... BUH BYE !

Actually, ***** Envy, according to Freud, is the supposed inadequacy feelings suffered by a female due to the fact that she secretly covets a *****. Ridiculous, I know. But I bring this up just to show the interested reader that you haven't the slightest idea what you're talking about (again).

Our animations ARE pets. Look at all the sites, such as Caster's Realm and this one, that refer to our animations as pets. Also, we get every single spell that is pet related, and common to all pet classes (you know, like Summon Companion, Tiny Companion, which Bard's never get) and all the AAs common to pet classes (like Pet affinity, which allows our PETS to be included in group buffs. With the right AAs (which I can't help but notice, Bards don't get), we can suspend our pet, even across zone lines, and conjure a second pet while the first one is suspended, and do just about anything else a pet class can.

Quote:

Well, your expertise at pet classes -- to say nothing about EverQuest itself -- is showing here, since you've obviously never heard of the class with the very best pet of all: the Magician. ("Ummm...oh, yeah...ummm...yeah, they're a hardcore pet class, too..." ROFL)

Quote:

And yet, you've said NOTHING to make your case. Not one solid argument, just a lot of childishness (unless you're about eight years old, in which case, your post would be reflecting an appropriate level of emotional maturity).

And speaking of maturity...
