It should be noted that damage shields on the Enchanter will negate the effect. You'll get a message saying that the mob was dazzled by a blinding light, followed by a message that says the mob was awoken by you. If you're using this spell, you should click off the damage shields, otherwise, you'll be contending with the increased aggro caused by a damage shield plus a mezz.

Don't you mean DoT? How can a damage shield wake a sleeping mob that is not hitting you?

He does not mean DoT. It appears that following a successful mob strike on an enchanter with a mezz ward up that EQ 1st checks for a proc mezz mob & 2nd checks for any existing damage shields on the enchanter. This order leads to mobs taking DS damage after being mezzed.

Any damage shield spell effect on the enchanter will immediately break the procced mezz effect. For this reason I block all damage shields casted on my enchanter so that the enchanter does not instantly break his own mezz.

I do not know if mobs with a reverse DS on them like the cleric Mark of Kings line will cause a problem with enchanter mezz wards. Mobs are rarely MoKed in EQ so at worst this is a small issue.

Just a few points that haven't been made regarding this spell.

First of all, it doesn't proc 100% of the time, or even close to that, so I don't know what definition Sony is using when they say that it procs "often" in the spell's description. I'm guessing it procs about 25% of the time, based on what I've seen in my own use of it. Since mobs at this level tend to quad hit, it's enough to give the typical mob one chance of being mezzed per round of attack on the Enchanter. I'm guessing that Sony decided not to make the proc 100% because that would give a quad-hitting mob 4 chances to be mezzed per round, which would almost guarantee the mezzing of any mezzable mob hitting the Enchanter.

And my thought on that is, "So, what?" Necromancers, Shadowknights, Monks, Bards, Wizards and Druids all have their own "Get out of death free cards," so why can't we? What's wrong with the idea of an incoming train being stopped dead in its tracks when it encounters the Enchanter?

It should be noted that damage shields on the Enchanter will negate the effect. You'll get a message saying that the mob was dazzled by a blinding light, followed by a message that says the mob was awoken by you. If you're using this spell, you should click off the damage shields, otherwise, you'll be contending with the increased aggro caused by a damage shield plus a mezz.

The mezz itself lasts for about four ticks. This is with my Alteration skill as my primary specialization (since this is an Alteration type spell, rather than the Conjuration of single mezzes and the Divination of AoE mezzes) and with the Mesmerization Mastery AA.

Finally, if you're using charmed mobs with this spell, it is useful to have a blur memorized. Otherwise, the mezzed mob will come after you upon being wakened, and probably remezz itself when it hits you, and of course, your charmed mob will immediately break off the attack. The spell is excellent to have while soloing with charmed mobs, since if the charm breaks early, and you get summoned, you can still regain control over the situation as the two mobs beating on you will likely get mezzed by this spell, giving you enough to time to blur and recharm.

I know why I can't get any Gallantry! It's just because I'm a Dark Elf, isn't it? Yeah, I see how you all are! "No buffs for the Inkies," right? "Dark Elves are all evil!" "Dark Elves smell funny!" Well, we do not smell funny! I've smelled Dark Elves all my life and it's nothing to laugh at!

Three ticks, by my watch... it probably is a two-tick mez affected by Mez Mastery.

Beautiful, beautiful spell. Gives you enough time to turn around and give the mobs a good dose of Euphoria.

This just replaced my always-memorized Ethereal Rune.

As the Bedazzlement Effect shows, it's a 3 tick mezz with a -50 resist modifier.

Something Blocks it

Have not figured out what all yet, but some common buffs block this spell, so not sure how useful - if at all - that it really is.

PoR spell from a quest

This is the new PoR spell that you get by doing a quest which involves looting 9 different skins from mobs in Destruction and higher zones. Each mob type (spider, orc, evil eye, skeleton, ect.) that cons red seems to have a chance to drop a skin.

This spell is like Color Shock but mezzes mobs instead of stunning them. It seems to proc fairly often too. You just have to tell your melee folks that it is ok that they are breaking the mezz.

This spell is the effect of an Enchanter AA ability. When struck, the Enchanter's buff has a chance of recoiling on the attacker with Bedazzlement Effect, which attempts to mez the attacker. (Is this chance of response 100%?)

To answer the first post, this is here, even though its an AA, because all AA's that use spells are spells. Why it showed up as a level 70 Chanter spell, I'm not sure, guessing its a bug in this site.

Actually, it's here because it's being tested right now. And now that I've read it, I'm hoping becomes one of our spells. There are some differences, I've noticed, that makes this spell better. For one thing, the proc is a mezz, not a stun. For another, the proc for the spell is capped at level 73, rather than 70, like the Enchanter AA.

This sounds like Color Shock, the defensive AA that allows for a chance of any mob attacking the Enchanter to be stunned. But why make a spell out of something that's already an AA?
