    I do not see that this combine can only be done by a warrior. Are you sure? Ever since the new research system came out it has allowed the manufacture of spells for classes other than the class of the person doing the research. The old system was class specific as I recall. I could be wrong, but if this sticks with the other rules for the new research system any class could do the combine. I also looked at the tome binding kit and it does not seem to be limited to any particular class either.

    Anybody have any real experience or success with any aura, or melee tome combines?

    I have played around with the new kits and here is what happens. I tried the tome building kit with a shadowknight and got the message, 'your race/class can not use this item' when I tried to do a combine in it.

    Only melee classes (monk, zerker, rogue, warrior) can use a tome binding kit.
    Only hybrid classes can use a hybrid research kit.
    Bards get the songwriting kit.
    Priest classes get the prayer writing kit.

    A pure caster can make a spell for any class, but they can not make tomes.

    SO the tome does not have to be made by a warrior per se, but it will have to be made by a pure melee which has to use the tome binding kit, which does not say that it is race/class specific until you try to use it.

    The other option is to do the skylance quest arc....bleh. :-/

    This was not scrapped--guy from The Collective on Drinal server had it in group I was in the other day--you have to loot skins in Devistation--need 9 different skins which are lore--need a good to great puller and a solid group--mobs that drop the skins are all red at lvl 70--pathing of coarse is kinda messed up--different mobs drop different skins--don't have a list of what drops what as I have only been there twice but have 5/9 of the skins--was told skins drop off of mobs in the zone over from Devistation as well but haven't been there myself yet to see.

    I've played nothing but a warrior for well over 4 years now and to be honest, I've never seen anything as good as the 68 Disc that they did give us.

    +20% chance at avoidance for the entire group, and by the time it runs out you've usually got the cost of the disc back.

    To be different, I'll say thank you. =)

    It's easy enough; there's a couple of different ways to get it.

    1.) complete the quest line in Skylance (The library, the Oubliette, and the Laboratory). The final quest is linked at the top of this page, or follow this link http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=3366 for the Library, the first of the quest lines.

    2.) build up your researching skills and research it for yourself. Note: recently, all classes were granted researching as an available tradeskill. So it's not so surprising that this stipulation was put on it.... kinda like crafting your cultural armor... only another one of your "type" (in that case, race, in this case, class) can craft the item for you.

    I'm quite glad they did open up researching to all classes.... you can now craft these things instead of trying to round up a large group of people to do old world raid mobs for you again. This way is actually much easier to accomplish!
