Vampirc Embrace

This is not a spell, but rather the effect of casting Vampiric Embrace on yourself. [b]

[b]Vamiric Embrace is a 8th level Necromancer spell & a 22nd level Shadowknight spell.

Esentially, Vampiric Embrace places a short lived buff on you.

This buff (VampEmbraceShadow) will give you a chance to drain your opponents hit points while engaged in melee combat.

The buff is scaled to your level, meaning the spell will grow in power as you grow in levels (e.g. more hit points drained, longer duration).

The VampEmbraceShadow effect can also be obtained through Alternate Advancement or certain items that have this effect built into them.

I believe any spell effect that references level 70 is meant to be available with the release of OOW.

Proc - short for Processing...

You, or your weapon are processing an Effect. Least, that is how I have alays thought of it.

The term proc is use for weapons that have an effect. When that effect goes off (randomly), it proc's.

Not a Necromancer spell/effect
# Dec 19 2003 at 6:05 AM Rating: Decent
This is not a necromancer spell. The vampiric embrace has two different effects, one for shadow knights and one for necros. Vampiricembrace shadow is the one for shadowknights. The only difference is that the necro one gives a bigger life tap on the proc. Someone delete this from the necro spells.
level 1?

Dont understand this - If it is innate, how can it be available from level 1?

You cant buy it so where does it come from?

Its understandable that you are confused, as the way this is setup is sort of bassackward.

The Level 1 VampEmbraceShadow is the procing effect of the Level 22 Vampiric Embrace spell when cast by a Shadowknight.

Its not quite as good as the proc effect of VampEmbraceNecro, the equivalent spell when cast by a Necromancer.

The proc is a lifetap for a small amount of damage. The healing benefit tends to be very small for the relative level of the proc. The main benefit is the increase in agro.
