i played with it a little on the poor mindspore thralls in corathus creep.
as far as i can tell, say you've got a group of 5 mobs, you sing Creeping Dreams on one, and he gets mezzed for 12 seconds. the next tick (6 seconds later), the surrounding mobs get mezzed, if they don't resist the check. now all 5 are mezzed. 6 seconds later, the initial mob wakes up from his mez and resumes attacking. 6 seconds after that, another ae-mez seems to go off. so it appears that the song mezzes one target, then mezzes multiple targets in a radius from the initial target, two times.

will i use it ? that's debatable. in a zone where i don't need to keep Selo's memmed, freeing up a song slot, maybe i'll keep it loaded for those times when multiple mobs attack.. i can sing this, then begin single target mezzing and if they don't resist the two mez tics, the situation might turn out okay.

but my normal lineup doesn't have the room for two mezzes. and with the recast timer on it, its too dangerous to keep this loaded over, say, Aelfric's, or Luvwen's, or Morrel.

as for the spell missions, these ones are actually difficult. 68.2 is pretty tough. 68.3 is just awful, it takes forever ot kill all the mobs you need, and then you get to sneak up and fight the chamber guardian. 68.4 is a long mission, although its fun. and 68.5 is easy but the mobs are beefy.. lots of HPs.
i say, do the 69 arc, get thousand blades, and leave the others.
Target: Single ?

I already have Level 70 Song: Vulka's Lullaby (etc.) so
I've put off getting this song because according to the
description it's another redundant mez song.

Now I hear this is used to stop multiple mobs at once,
but I see the description says: "Target Type: Single"

Surely this needs to be changed to PBAE ? or AoE ?

Surely I need to finish all the DoDh spell arcs.

Mezz and aggro
# Feb 21 2007 at 11:46 PM Rating: Decent
I Like this song granted it doesn't have so much application beyond Emezto post, but I does have use in many raid situation where a bards aggro is nothing in comparison to the hrode charging the healers etc.

And a minor point Em, Mezzed mobs cannot adds players to its hatelist. This implies you only need fade the once after it lands. Assuming the unmezzable mob or target you bellow moves beyond assist range before the AE fades on the rest ( which it should) you will have no aggro on the mezzed pack. As a side.. this means you can sneak whole groups past SI mobs if you can mezz the odd SI and fade the trash, and you group is sharp enough to move clear.

Very few uses

There are really only 3 uses that I've found for this song. The first is obvious: it is useful for quickly stopping 3+ adds and either give your enchanter a chance to get them under control or give you a chance to begin the mez rotation on the 3 without them running around until the mez rotation gets to them. Considering the small radius of the ae and the fact that it occurs on the second tick the above use really isn't that effective. A slightly more useful trick I've learned with this song is to use it to mez split a big, tightly packed group of static mobs. Pick the one in the middle, sing this song to it and then immediately fade once it hits. This will keep the surrounding mobs from chasing you and running out of the AE radius. The AE will then go off and voila! The entire group of mobs is mezzed and ready for you to bellow tag your choice and pull him far enough away to fade off the rest. Again because of the small radius of this spell you need a very close group of mobs for this to even work. The last method I use with this spell is probably the most useful but also the one most ppl are least likely to use. Being a bard I attempt some pretty risky pulls. We have the tools at our disposal to run all the way to the end of a dungeon, grab that named NPC that we need, and drag him all the way back the way we came through all the trash mobs that we passed to get to him. The big problem with this is trying to split your named from all the trash. Normally the best way to do this is to mez your named, drag the trash away from him, and then fade the trash off so you can go tag the named where he stands by himself, off to the side of the rest of the mess. Well that's all well and good...if your named mob is mezzable. So what do you do if you cannot mez your named to split him? Well you definitely don't need to worry about trying to use snare to split him off once you get this spell. Same method as above applies only instead of mezzing the named mob to split him you can use this song to mez everything BUT the named so we can come chasing you on his own. Now this is not the easiest thing in the world to do. The only way I have been able to do this is to kite the group in circles until they get close enough together for the AE to land on every one. Then the problem is you have to KEEP them all together long enough for the AE to pulse to them on the second tick. Really the only way I've found to do this without getting slaughtered by all the trash is to use deftdance and stand still so they all sit in one spot trying to bash on you. While you have deftdance up you just pop a trash in the middle with this song, let em bash on you for a tick and then once you see that AE pulse get away as fast as possible....you only have 12 seconds to get your named far enough away from the group to be able to fade and single tag him. You might be able to find a way to do this using invulnerability songs but considering the cast time for these songs i don't think the'd make any difference. Good luck trying to find any other uses for this seemingly useless song. Personally i think it'll just collect dust in my spell book which is retarded considering how hard it was to get this song. The least they could do is make a clicky item with this effect, even if it had a ridiculous recast timer, because this spell is not used nearly often enough for me to waste a spell gem on it.

Before everyone freaks out about this mez that's identical to our 70 one, but has a 60 second recast and costs 100 mana, there's more to this song than it seems: this song will not only mez your target, but the next tick after the mez lands, a small aoe mez goes off as well. The aoe mez goes off only once, I haven't done enough testing on its range to figure that out, but both the original mez & the aoe one wear off on the same tick. It's not exactly useful in daily grouping or raiding situations, seems more situational (emergency crowd control), but it has its purpose... somewhere. I'll keep it memmed for a while & see if I use it.
