i have to ask
# Feb 21 2009 at 4:48 AM Rating: Decent
now the specs of the spell say;
2: Decrease Attack Speed by 25%
3: Increase Disease Counter by 16
but below some people have been saying slows for 75%.

so i have to ask a few questions.
do the procs on this accumilate?
does this spell stack with any other kind of slow?
if you cast a normal say 70% slow on the mob, does this spell 'not take hold'?

i only ask because im trying to decide whether to stay at my current level for AAing, or level up some more to get spells like this.

It's been years since this has been asked however I'm going to post a reply in hopes that it may help some others that have the same question.

This spell is cast on your puller, tank etc. It's a really nice pre-slow and it doesn't cause you aggro when it procs and slows the mobs, really nice if you get more than one. I use this line of spell (I'm higher level so I use the higher version) to pre- slow, works nice on pullers also in case they get smacked on the way back to camp, it will proc on every mob that hits it however it can be resisted to my knowledge.

When the mobs get back to camp and the tank engages if the proc sticks then it's pre-slowed by 25%, then you cast your regular slow for 75%, the effects don't stack, you're not going to stop the mob from hitting whomever (wouldn't that be nice) lol.
As to the question of do you have to get hit by the mob, not completely sure but for me the mob has to at least be swinging on you, that's my experience at least and yes it does have a 400% proc rate meaning that it's going to proc 4 times the normal rate just like the Spirit of the Panther line of spells, in other words it procs a LOT.

I hope this helps someone.

Hard to get the information you really need sometimes. Some of these post are useless and you have to sort through them to get to helpful ones.My question if someone might answer is do we have to do all 5 quest to get this spell? Also if faction is needed, any idea who we need to kill or if their is a quest to help with faction!Other question is do you have to have a group for these quest if so what is minimum amout of grouprequired?

this spell requires that each player quest the 68.x series. that means you must successfully complete spell missions 68.1, 68.2, 68.3, 68.4, and 68.5.
AFAIK faction is not important in getting the missions.
you will NEED A GROUP to do these missions. the plus side of that, is that everyone in the group gets a reward for completion on their cursor (usually an augment), plus the chance of zone-wide rares dropping on the mobs you kill within the mission, AND usually a chest upon completion, or an item dropping from the named.
the minimum group number is 3, but i'd recommend having a full group. the mobs will die quicker and you'll have an easier time all around.

This has to be one of the top 5 spells in the game! If you're a shaman and you don't have this spell, getting it should be your #1 priority. It's useful whether your soloing, grouping or raiding. This spell is GREAT for keeping aggro on tanks! I can't count how many times that the aggro and the slow proc's have saved a complete group wipe.
Great spell

This spell helped us get thru Uqua, Cast it on the tanks and almost on contact the mobs were slowed 40%. Lasts about 6 mins 36 sec when cast by me with my extensions, and all aggro goes to the tank. The bug was fixed a long time ago. Also considering that our slows are partially, slightly etc. effective on most mobs now days, 40% just might be more than out 75% slow comes out to be.

Correction: Spell effect is triggered merely by npc engagement to effected target. so.....

could a void danced monk slow a mob with this proc w/o taking a hit?...

I would say it is highly possible

You have to complete the 5 tasks assigned to you by Kelliad loc 707 -1830 in Stoneroot Falls to get your new lvl 68 DoD spell.

Just got this spell yesterday, seems they fixed the bug/exploit. The buff lasts about 5 min with extended enhancement items/AAs, the proc slow effect lasts around 3 ticks or close to it.

Once casted on target it seems to be triggered from offensive melee damage and slows the mob with every successful proc.It was procing like every other hit, twice as much as maw procs imo.It was rarely resisted.

Tried this spell out in RSS Shardtender camp, casted on MT and sat back and watched the magic, 5 pulls later nobody in group even realized that I wasnt slowing the mobs!

BTW this effects all creatures that hit you so you can cast it on your enc, cleric whovever.

Yes this spell effects all creatures that attack you it proc even on misses. Do not cast this on clerics or group members you don't get the aggro from the slow proc the person that has the buff gets the proc. Like i cast this on the tank bob well mob hit bob and proc goes off, now bob has mt aggro and aggro cause he just cast slow on the mob. Haveing a cleric get his and proc slow would be bad.

This spell has already reached exploit status. Ideas came as soon as I discovered the bug in the spell on a PVP server...You can cast it on people and then hit them for 15kdmg. People are instantly owned. Also you can use it on mobs with an enchanter in the group such as plane of fire or other good exp zones if you charm the mob then cast the buff on it then PK the mob you will do massive dmg to it. Just have an SK/Necro in the grp to feed the enchanter's mana or have multiple enchanters + shaman + melee. = Massive exp.

Looks like a proc buff but what does it proc?
RE: proc info plz
# Sep 19 2005 at 1:48 PM Rating: Decent
This is supposed to be our new proc slow which when cast on your tank, has a chance to proc a 75% slow when the tank is hit.

BE WARNED!

Up to now, this spell is bugged and procs a melee mitigation of -8000% on the target. Not castable on mobs and when cast on a PC, causes them to get hit like a ton of bricks.

Shaman are reporting on http://crucible.samanna.net that blues can hit for 19K (yes, thats 19 thousand) a swing as it now stands :)

So perhaps the idea is to sacrifice one PC in order to slow the mob with disease resist check (instead of magic) defensive proc...

Does it proc on each hit to make it useful or proc rate like maw?

Do you have to get HIT for the proc to be able to process? IE: could a void danced monk slow a mob with this proc w/o taking a hit?...
