Cromastrike VS. Reproach
# Feb 14 2006 at 1:18 PM Rating: Decent
Is the reason this would be used over Reproach that this has a Chromatic Resist, while Reproach is magic?

Yes, that would be the reason. On high magic resist mobs, a full damage 1100 nuke is preferable to doing 96 points of damage with a mostly resisted magic nuke.

Not only is it chromatic resistance based, but it's also only 375 mana, which is almost half the cost of Reproach per cast.

Reproach is 430 mana base. Which makes the mana efficiency pretty similar.
fixed invis for cleric

Read EQcleric forums and see what the HIGH LEVEL clerics think about invis for clerics.. They have recommended removing it as a cleric issue .. WTH we aren't all clerics in the demiplanes .. Does SONY ever listen to the larger number of "lesser" than the oh so mighty "top" clerics in EQ?? I am lvl 70 and I think clerics NEED some kind of at least fixed invis .. grrrrrr .. There is a by invitation only cleric channel for these guys to discuss cleric issues .. which is fine, I suppose, but they don't see invis as a major grief from clerics ?? bah..

for all the whining that I've seen about clerics not having invis, I've never really had a problem getting invis...

three simple solutions for 70 clerics who want invis ...

1) ask a mage to get you an invis stone. it's fixed invis and has a few charges to get where you want.

2) buy a stack of cloudy potions. Invis on the run, they stack, and if you're really worried about the cost, you're doing something very very wrong.

3) assuming you're in a guild... Cloudy Steel Mask is a decently easy to get item, you can get it with a couple groups of lvl 70 toons. Combine with cloudy potions for reliable invis whenever you want it.

I have to say us clerics *SHOULDN'T* get invis for balancing reasons. We are the ones doing all the corpse runs to do rezes right? now most argue this is a good reason to get invis but I say otherwise. If sony makes it far too easy for us to get to corpses, allowes us to rez them nearly to full xp without mana, and otherwise changes things there is no penalty at all to death.

Basically sticking clerics with unreliable invis is a way to at least keep things a little interesting for us, and thus for the entire group waiting for there rez. If your going to ask for us to have invis you might as well insist that enchanters get hp buffs because there the ones getting hit and needing those buffs, or that warriors get pulling spells because they need to pull so often, or perhaps give rangers better tanking ability? the entire point of EQ is to make it so one class can't do it all, so we all have to work together

I like this spell but I agree with the Lame post. Sony should give clerics an invis spell and/or a better undead ability. We are a pure caster class ... to think that we shouldn't get invis because of some lame preconception a few dinosaurs at SOE won't let go of ... irritates the hell out of me.

Our undead damage dot AA is a freaking JOKE. The AA's required to complete it would lead you to believe it would be worth having but it is not.

Clerics are the underrated workhorses in Everquest but sony continues to ignore us. We get the blame for faiures and the Warriors get credit for the successes. EVEN WARRIORS can easily get an unlimited clicky invis item with very little effort while we are stuck buying potions and batteries.

There was one zone where invis versus undead was actually worth using and sony nerfed it.

Disapointed

As I am usually healing and rarly have time to cast a damage spell these level 68 through 70 Spells that Sony put out in new DoD expansion are really IMO NOT worth the PITA to get them >> Why dont the give us something udeful like maybe a FREAKING FIXED INVIS SPELL ????????

Lame...

Pathetic. Pallies in my guild crit this much on regular melee hits, and SU for 10k. Necro DoTs crit for 4.5k. Wizzies crit for 30k. If they're gonna give me DPS tools then FFS make em actually useful. Otherwise don't **** me off by giving me useless spells. Give me another ward, or an undead nuke that actually does more than 1% dmg on current mobs, or anything that's actually an improvement.

Do pallies in your guild heal as well as you do? Class balance is a good thing, how can you as a cleric even post necro and wizzy crit numbers on this forum? Warriors don't go around saying GEEZ! that cleric can crit heal me for 20k, and all I can do is bind wound for 1%!

I'm fairly happy with this spell, I havent had it resisted but a handful of times and ive cast it alot... always above the base for sure when it hits. Would have liked to see a higher base damage but oh well...
