I think they've changed that. I only have the previous version, shadow compact. But I think it used to not stack with some spells it now stacks with. The druid I often hunt with uses the group version of SLN, and I can still heal our shaman. But I can't heal shamans in bear form, last I tried.

Woohoo, finally got it))!! 2 1/2 years and tons of help from a fantastic guild!!
Not sure of the wording, but I think that is what is confusing everyone.
Plain and simple, here is what it does...The 100hp is Direct Damage to mob, then, whatever ye want to call it, "raise" "lower" + -...the result is that the mob is much more interested in the wielder now than before it proc'd, lol.
wtf...

someone confirm this proc...what im translating from it is...there is a 100DD proc and it lowers your aggro 500pts?

is this true or did they make a mistake and it actually increases you on the aggro list 500pts?

and considering the name of the proc is "rage"...it sounds like it should be some bizitch aggro thingy :\

its a 100dd, and increases(lowers you on the hate list) the aggro.

Higher Neg numbers on Hate list=less aggro...thus lowering you by 500 will increase your aggro nicely
So let me get this straight!

So this sword makes your HP go down 100 and causes you to catch argo? Or does it lower the mobs hp? lol I see a little bit of both in the above posts. Someone please clear this up...=/

It doesn't make the warrior's HP go down any but does a 100pt dd on his or her target, and warriors want all the taunt they can get practically, so it works quite well
umm

1. Allow the main tank to keep his agro, and cut down on the ping pong effect.

Melees dont cause ping pong ... Casters to , id a melee over taunts / aggros the mob just turns to fave them it doesnt Ping Pong.
What's the point of this?

I have no clue why would you use this weapon if it decreases your hp by 100hp? and decrease mob hate by 500? why would anyone care if it decreases hate of mob? you're already tryin to kill him.

Ok, to clear something up, I just checked to wording of this page to the wording of Eqcaster(the program that reads off the spdat.eff file) and noticed that the wording on this page is BACKWARDS. It should not say "Lowers" but instead say "Raises" which makes a LOT more sense, as this effect is intended to **** off the mobs like crazy. The coding of the Ranger Jolt spell is "Lowers" as it should say, cause we all know how much rangers like to get rid of agro.

Decrease Current Hitpoints by 100 (L1)
Raises you on the target's hate list by 500 points

(this is cut straight from Eqcaster, this is the actual spell effect)

Part of your confusion originates from a typo in Verants coding. When the effect of a spell says "lower" on a targets Hate list, it actually means "raise", meaning that this mob becomes more pissed off at the person using this sword. This is good because it keeps the mob on the Main Tank, so it doesn't run around hitting the casters. So basically it doesn't lower the hate, it raises it, this is a fundamental typo in all Hate increasing spells.

The other part of your confusion originates from stupidity. It lowers the HP of the TARGET, not you, basically its a 100 pt DD. Think about it for a minute and you'll understand.

Well....

On larger raids with mobs that are hitting for well over 200+ a pop you normally have one main tank. That main tank is the target of all the clerics healing normally. This effect would in essence do two things.

1. Allow the main tank to keep his agro, and cut down on the ping pong effect.

2. Allow the clerics to focus on one person for heals during the encounter.

Both very useful things for higher lvl encounters.

I understand the effect, but why should you lose 100HPs? Why should any Epic weapon have any negative effects at all? Sounds pretty screwy to me.

It does not lower the warrior's HP any, it's just an odd way to say it lower's the target's current HP
reversed

Actually this spell takes hp from the caster and gives it to the target, it is a reverse lifetap dot, basically a heal spell for a necro, with a serious cost, can be used very effectively with bond of death or vexing mordania, just be careful, I've heard it will remove skin like nature spell effect.
