As a side note, you do not suffer any recourse effects in PoK, PoT, and the Bazaar.

Spells like Corporeal Empathy, Pact of Shadow, Shadow Compact, etc. can be cast there without any ill effects.

anyone bashing this spell is not a very experienced player ... OR ... not a very good necro.

2 spells ... Pact of Shadows + Bond of Death

Bond of Death lifesucks 80hp for 9 ticks ...
Pact of Shadows can be used TWICE to give hps to tank without you using any of your own hps.

Then lifetap if you need some.

This is how it should be used ... even if you only give the first half to the tank =)

This is a great spell for LDoN groups. I always have this up because it helps the cleric out much more than twitching. If a bard is pulling for the group I will wait for the MT to take aggro from the bard and then cast this one on the bard before he runs to grab the next mob. With a vampiric curse on the mob(and hopefully regen) you can stay fairly even on health with maybe one tap before the mob dies. The bard is usually nearly healed by the time it is back with the next mob.

LDoN is about time and medding for a cleric is time consuming. If you dont have a bard or pally pulling, chances are your cleric is having to pacify the room. Thats less med time for your cleric and more mana being used as well. If you can let the cleric worry about the MT and you take care of healing the chanters, bards, wizzies, rogues etc then you dont waste as much time waiting for you cleric to med.

When I do an LDoN group I dont even have a dot memmed. I send pet, slow if its undead, and drop a heal on whoever isnt the MT and is losing health (unless the person is being hit is in trouble, then then cleric heals).

Holding pulls so a cleric can med is a big reason why groups fail, this is designed to help your cleric keep mana full by healing less and the group keeps moving forward.

Its drains 80 damage per tick times 4 ticks so it does 320 damage over 24 seconds and gives you that much. The reson it only costs 10 mana is because you can only use it once every 12 minutes.

This IS NOT a leach spell that steals hitpoints from a mob and gives it to you. Nor is the recast delay 12 minutes.

Notice the Spell Type: Beneficial? How many spells do you know of that damage a mob but is in the beneficial category? Leach spells are detrimental.

This is just what ColedFire said. A reverse life-tap that takes your hitpoints and gives it to a groupmate. The recast delay is 12 SECONDS.

It's 10 mana because you're not pulling hitpoints out of thin-air or damaging a mob to get them. It's like an intravenous from you to your target. Consider the hitpoints you lose as if it were the mana that would have been spent.

To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, it's better to remain silent and be thought a fool, then to post your stupid wrong-headed ideas and remove all doubt.

What did you mean by "gives you that much"? It doesn't give "you" (the caster) anything. I read that to mean you thought it was a Leech spell. What did I misunderstand? You didn't say anything about the other things wrong with your post (12 minute recast????).

ColedFire gave a great, concise description of what the spell does and you flamed him/her for it. You're suddenly agreeing with them. Do you still contend that ColedFire doesn't know what he/she is talking about?

Pick a story and stick to it, CptMak. I can respect someone who thinks differently than me but not someone who can't admit when he's wrong. And, yes, you did ask for my respect and everyone elses' here when you posted your thoughts.
