you have to do Dragons of norrath progression (evil or good depending which side youre on) up to and defeat the "Calling Emoush" event. it's possible to do emoush and the events before, though it could be difficult. you would most likely have to find a pick up raid to defeat emoush.
live??

I am still amazed that so many people ***** and complain after every new spell/skill/upgrade/update that Sony puts out. If they didn't put out anything new, would y'all be complaining that EQ's boring?

Here's a Druid that has never ******* or moaned about any others' class perks. Of course, I rarely solo, only kite when strats call for it in Group or Raid. If I wanted to solo play, I'd still be playing Diablo. My Alter Ego is a Cleric, and I also have no problems with shouldering the Healer's role in groups or Raids. When you see me a'sit a horse casting CH, it's because that's what my job is- to keep the meat shields alive. If there are plenty of healers, that's when I can expand my horizons and use those keen new spell toys that Sony has given us to explore.

Those who feel as if their class is not fun anymore, perhaps you might be better served finding a new class to play, rather than using all that valuable energy in complaint. Play with what ya gots. It makes us better players.

Suzy's alright
# Oct 26 2005 at 11:08 AM Rating: Decent
I think we should appreciate Suzy's candor. I find it refreshing. However, I DID sign up to be a "uber proccing God Hammer Smasher mob Slayer." I also wanted CH and the best HP/AC buffs in the game. That pretty much narrows it down to the cleric class. In fact, when I made my cleric back in 2000 (before they ever gave us the god hammers), I did it solely because somebody told me clerics can't solo. I set out to prove em wrong. These days, anybody can solo with a cleric toon. I'm not complaining - I think it's great! In fact, clerics are built to do other things besides heal, as evidenced by the mana regen component of yaulp. You can't yaulp sitting down, and yaulp turns off when you cast it and then sit down, so obviously you can't regen mana with yaulp sitting down OR mounted. That means if you are a cleric and you're sitting on your **** casting CH, you're ******** your group. Most people don't really expect much more of clerics than to keep everyone healed, but we really are capable of doing so much more than just sitting there casting CH every 15 seconds. What would you think of a bard who only played one song? He can do more than one thing at once, and most of us expect him to play 3 or more songs. In the same token, clerics are built to dish out more than just heals, and I think it's GREAT that we were given the tools to do so.

The other day, I saw a level 70 cleric sitting on his horse doing nothing but casting CH on the tank. I took over as healer for him, casted yaulp for mana regen, threw a nice HoT on the tank, and proceeded to wade into the mob with my hammer. After all, I don't have to heal anybody if the monster is dead. The mage ended up being "rampage tank" because he nuked early, so I threw a 1.5 second cast-time patch heal on him. Mana was at 80%, so in order to conserve mana I then mounted my horse. Six ticks had gone by, so the HoT wore off. The mob was down to 27% health, so I crit nuked for 3,200 damage to get it under 20% health. The nuke is a lot cheaper to cast than a heal, so it made much more sense to make the mob turn than to heal the tank again. Next it was Divine Arbitration (no mana cost free heal) followed up by free clickly heals from the Velious legs I'm still wearing, and everyone was back to full health before the puller brought the next mob. Plus, I was back to full mana. This is only one example of how to have FUN playing a cleric.

Oh, and I'm no uber cleric. I've got FT 10, and my best gear came off WoS yard trash.

My main point here is that cleric is a good, balanced class that is often underutilized. We don't need to be nerfed or adjusted, IMO.

I haven't tried this line of spells yet... but I'm going to make getting them one of my goals. I'm a level 70cleric who's retired from raiding. I had to make an alt in order to farm stuff I need for tradeskilling on my cleric. With this kind of spell, not only does it bring back some fun of being a cleric but it's also very helpful. I believe I'll be able to now go out and efficently get my own TS components now.

Just call me a ghetto pally, but I like to tank the lil stuff and I do a darn good job of it. This will help then too. Was helping a friend get some xp in PoStorms yesterday and was able to easily tank some trash near the zone in (the first bear I tanked dropped some nice boots!). She even said I did better tanking than the 65war we had earlier in the day and definetly better than the 61pally we had at first.

Lots of fun! :)

I would Deffinately recommend this spell for any Cleric that intends on farming mass mobs or plans on PLing alts or friends. My 70 clr friend took my 47 Clr down into LGuk near the Fury spawn and pulled everything in the zone that was undead(and i mean everything) grouped with my clr and i sat back and let the xp flow.... my clr was 51 before i left about an hour and a half later. Make an alt happy... get this spell and kill some froggies!

A few details about the spell

You receive it after completing part two of the Dragons of Norrath Progression (Good or Evil) in Lavastorm Mountains. This involved the Calling Emoush raid at the end.

Everytime the mob swings at you, there is a chance this will go off. Proc rate seems similar to the Hammer of Reproach. I am guessing a higher DEX would increase the proc rate (similar to the hammer) but I have no data on it. Note that the mob does not actually have to hit you for this to work.

Proc is for 550 as stated but can critical blast through SCF AA skills.

Initial Experiment involved two Kyv and an Ukun in DS. I ran my Celestial Rejuvenation after taking some damage to heal me during the fight. While fighting, I noticed a very fast proc rate which seemed to keep pace with the Hammer or even pass it since I was taking quad hits. The Ukun and the Second Kyv died before I finished killing the one I was actually fighting. It was still at 40%. My guess is that I was shield bashing to stun it and this reduced the number of times it attempted to hit.

Spell is useful if the Cleric can corner to reduce disruption of healing spells. The Proc will end up doing a lot of the work for the Cleric. Duration vs mana cost is a main concern though. With sufficient Mana regen, this is not a problem. With full SCR3/SCRM, duration will increase to 3 minutes and then add your Buff extender after that.

RE: cant find it
# Mar 02 2005 at 5:51 PM Rating: Decent
You get this spell as a reward for completing the DoN missions. First you need indifferent faction, via either the solo tasks assigned at the wayfarer's camp, or from handing in Norrath's Keeper crystals that look like teardrops for faction (you get them from finishing a mission). When you have indifferent faction, talk to Chieftain Relae at the Norrath Keeper's camp (if you're on good faction of course). He'll assign you 3 tasks, then a mission. Finish them, get more faction. You'll get 3 more tasks and a small raid, finish all these and you'll get spell.

I smell a nerf coming.

1. Why would anyone want to play a pally anymore?
2. Crybaby druids are ******** about our heals being to powerful now.
3. This is just going to **** off more people to ***** more.
4. I signed up as a cleric to HEAL. Not become a uber proc. Goddess Hammer Smasher mob Slayer.
5. Those of you noobs who push for this kind of stuff need to play a pally. Oh wait who would want to do that now.
6. Can you Smellllllll what the Nerf is Cookin?
MY HEALS get nerfed I am going to snap. BTW our fancy hammers might take a hit also. Noobs didn't think of that while ******** about Clerics not being able to Solo did you?

Show me a noob who has done something good for the game and I will show you how to make gold out of straw.

One, Clerics can heal as well as we do for a reason. It's our job. If they nerf healing, that pretty much screws the class over completely.

Two, Clerics mitigate damage differently than a Paladin. Although it is possible to solo, it is a lot harder for a Cleric to do so.

Three, even with a Proc hammer, I do not have any where near a Paladin's MELEE DPS (Especially against undead). It would take me longer to melee down a mob since my offensive skills stink. Most of my swings MISS. Where I get some DPS in melee is the Procs. Even if I miss, the proc can still go off and land. I can nuke, but that costs mana and there is the matter of the mob beating on you after the root breaks (opps!!!! No AA Root like DRUIDS got. No DoTs that DO NOT break root like DRUIDS got. No Snare like DRUIDS got so the mob runs a lot slower).

Listen, each class has its abilities. They differ from the other classes in the game and, thus, function differently. Healing is a function of the Cleric class. They nerf it, they pretty much ***** the game over because a lot of the high end stuff requires those kinds of heals. As for Paladin vs Cleric DPS, get a parser and go experiment. I think you will know who will win that fight even with the Cleric hammer procs.

I got the level 61 spell and it is not even close to being "too good".

It is useful for us CLR who are not boxed like so many I know.

I solo in Umbral Plains deep in where the dark assasins are. They con Dark Blue.

If I have C6 / KEI and SA/SD with Sham potions I can get lucky and get 1 full AA in 2 hours. That really sucks considering all my gear is MPG Trial's and GoD. Plus I got 253AAs.

I do love this spell though cause my server is dead and I keep LFG up while I solo. And this does help solo'ing.

Depending on my mana at the time I pull 1 2 or three at a time for non-stop fun. I have solo'ed 5 at once and lived but was OOM after. Also I have died 3 time soloing cause of interupts healing while geting adds.

I really want the level 69 version but can not find a good walk though / info . on how exactly to get it. :/

The 69th level spells is part of the DoN progression. You have to complete part two (Calling Emoush). I got the spell last night.

Look under the Quest Dragons of Norrath Progression (Good or Evil).

eventually, when you've leveled your cleric/druid/wizard/warrior/bard alt team past the grandious level of 23, you'll realize that playing a cleric gets real ******* tedious and that spells like this (albeit the mana/time ratio completely blows) can bring some fun back to it. i solo, a lot. while this spell isn't going to make clerics into a soloing class, it helps. and why h8 on pallies? LoH is your friend.
