I disagree with that list>

it should be: 1) Anger
2) Enraging Blow
3) Anger III
4) Chaotic Strike IV
5) Anger II

From my own exp i have found Anger 3 to be superior over CS4 any day of the week, it even holds aggro over CS5. I have given CS a fair shake, trust me, but i have seen a proc from Anger 3 grab snap aggro alot more. for example during a raid, we do tank changes when Defensive fades and such. and I have been that finishing tank alot, the one who takes over tanking toward the last half of the Raid mobs death. And as any raider knows thats normally the time they call for full Disc Burn, its at that time aggro becomes a real issue. Get a few hoped up cracked out DPS toons blazing out the dps and mob will periodically turn, and i have seen CS procs and do nothing to get aggro back for the tank, but almost always, and i mean damn near 99% always, A3 WILL turn the mob back to the tank. even if he loses it agian, it has that snap aggro that CS just lacks. Agian this my personal exp, and now my preference.

CS4 verses Anger3 or Enraging blow?

Question 1: What is the hate generated with this proc compared to 600/700 for Ang3/EB?

Question 2: Is the hate still generated if the proc is resisted completely? Or is it mitigated to some % less.

Question 3: Let me following the path of question 2 a sec. The CS4 proc has a -150mr check. Anger has a -400mr check. Ang3/EB are unresistable. Here is the question. Is the only reason CS4 and Anger are resistable because they have a DD/stun portion to their proc?

Kind Regards from a warrior tard.

1. The hate generated from proc is still unknown (having checked some boards). However, from having seen it used, CS4 procs was able to hold agro against a BoW with anger3 w/o taunting. Mind you this is a BoW on a war with maxed proc aa's vs an SK (who's class doens't allow as much). Also war had VoQ from sk on all 4 times this was done on raid.

2. It seems from personal experience that resisted spells/procs were "hated" more by NPCs than ones landing. Still need raw data to verify tho.

3. Yes. The DD/stun portion will be resisted. However, the +anger from Anger proc (i.e. DBoW, BboB) is still unresistable even if the other component is resisted.

In conclusion... CS4 vs ur Anger3 and EB are on a per user basis. The proc "Anger" remains uncontested in regards to gaining agro.

Beautiful analysis thangdien! Just to add a note, 1 damage = 1 hate. So if you land this, the damage portion will do 175 hate (before any hate mods). Not sure how stuns are equated into hate. I presume, the greater the stun duration, the more hate. Also, I’m not sure how hate from resisted spells is calculated. There are some things that NPCs really hate like stuns and snares that seem to get a lot of attention.

But in the end, 700 hate is likened to the agro if you did 700 damage. If you need mobs to stick to you, I would always recommend hate procs.

1 damage no longer = 1hate. This is no longer strickly the case. If a wizard nukes for 10k he would kill the raid in that case, let along the 15k+ we're seeing now. that 175dd mitigates to about 100ish hate, but the stun effect is worth considerably more. From extensive tests with friends Chaotic 4 is definately better than anger 2. It seems its not quite on par with anger 3 and definately below EB. Anger proc still > than all these.

DD Crits (and focus) don't cause additional aggro; that's how wizards can crit for +15k and not gain aggro. They're really only increasing their aggro by the base damage of the spell, which is 5848 for Ether Flame.

Although keep in mind DOT Crits still do cause additional aggro.

One would assume the wizzy has The right aa for reducing aggro in a raid. also one assumes he doesnt nuke on inc, so the tank has built up quite a lot of aggro before that 15k nuke hits.

for other classes 1 dmg from spells does = 1 hate, when you are talking melee

Just to update. The Stun portion of this effect works on mobs up to level 70.

ima monk, i nuke with a 1200 DD unresistable nuke every 30 seconds, and i never take aggro from anyone, and i do it apon incomming, so i dont think i gain 1200 hate from a mob when using it, so i dont think the 1 damage = 1 hate and if it does its probably only consist in certain classes, and or depends on the addative effect besides direct damage for anger, like a spell that has dd plus AC debuff, or sometype of debuff, DD with life tap, ect... or could be on the mob itself of how much a spell would generate hate, depending on his spell vulnerability...

Monks do that all the time. And yes monks do get hit. But only if they are melee range after I hit my bazu (combine server max level 70). It takes a few seconds for me to get up equal to them. I think a person has to be over 1000 agro for the mob to chase them if they are out of melee range.
