When you right click on this spell ingame it gives the description
"Cloaks YOU in a mystic veil,rendering YOU invisible to undead creatures for 0:10:00.It should read "Cloaks your target in a mystic veil.."Errors like this have been causing me to use the crappy group version that wears off at random.

Self-only spells are ALWAYS yellow gems. If the gem border is red, you can target someone and cast it. If it is purple, it is a group cast spell.

Doesn't give me any new type of invis really, just a more "reliable" one. Cept how many uber high lvl zones (particularly OoW, the xpansion this spell came with) is this gonna help me? What this spell says to me is, "Summon to guildhall for rezz" or "Hey, you with the improved invis! Go get our bodies so I can do my job!"

And the chits of it is that I have to waste a rune on this. Talk about a waste, just what I wanted. Another invis to undead. Hooray. And who was the jackass at SOE that said, "Yeah, let's make another damm invis vs. undead! And make it so they have to get through it to get to the really good stuff!" Sick phuckers...

The only reason to get this spell is to have the "right" to get the next spell (sybmol upgrade). That seems to be the spell everyone wants now.

This spell is a waste IMO. Once you get to our levels it really doesn't matter that you have to spend 100 plat a night on Cloudy potions. What does **** me off is that we can bring peeps back from the dead, but can't invis Ourselves? It's getting old this invis problem.

Sooooooo SOE, please give us some invis. It's time!

To me it sounded like an upgrade to 'sunskin' from back in the 50s. That one if you remember is a self only IVU with a set time (no wearing off 2 seconds after you cast it).
This appears to be the same spell except that you can target tohers besides yourself.

Now for Inviz. We should have gotten a general inviz spell back in the 20s or so. By the 40s we should have a dual inviz that does IV and IVU.

Noone has a combination Invis and ITU spell, why do you think you should be entitled to it?

Actually Wizards have access to both spells.

Clerics are not asking for invis to both undead and live in one spell either.

He/she/it didnt mean no one has both invis and IVU. He/she/it meant that no one has a spell that invises you both to live and undead mobs at the same time.

This was an older post but maybe this info might help. IV and IVU can be used at the same time. Have someone casst IV on the group then one person casts IVU on everyone (in that order). They will stack and can be used simultaneously. The catch is that who ever casts the IVU will not have IV. Sorry bud. Run like heck.

**Edit** Just found another catch to this. Clerics and Pallys AA's. They can use both. After casting IvU on their group, cast an invis potion for invis. If you have the Class AA (Innate invis to Undead - Cleric, or Cloak of Light - Pally) you become invis to undeads automaticly (Most times, but not all). I use it and am happy with it.

Well, technically you are correct but there is one class that can be invisible to both living and undead creatures at the same time - The Rogue. It is an incredibly powerful ability that allows them to go places that no one else can go.

sunskin is group ivu random duration. this is single target 10min set duration though as you mentioned.

OMFG this is another IVU spell? I THOUGHT this was our own INVIS spell - so that WE could survive through the new zones - to go rez everyone else.

You know they give us spells, that are a waste of time.. and now they are forcing us to take them one at a time in the order THEY wanted them handed out, and now - they STILL don't provide US with a way to get to all these places to provide the rezzes for people that need them. SOE sometimes your brains have been 'checked' at the innovative department.

Pretty bright of them .. FORCING clerics to depend (STILL) on everyone else .. or carry GVD or Cloudy Potions to help rez everyone else.. who cares if the cleric's **** is in the wings.. nobody I guess - as long as the Rez gets done for everyone else. This was the one spell I *thought* I was looking forward too. More and more, this tells me why many people don't start clerics anymore and/or don't play them to max levels. Most guilds have a shortage of them, and SOE wonders why. They have made it impossible for you to go from one zone to the next in GoD without Invis.. for Run3 to not outrun mobs and now, we get an upgrade to IVU that doesn't do squat for us - in a game that doesn't even have any high end zones that are JUST undead. We can't solo well, we can't even get to the places now that need rezzes. I'm about done, dear SOE.. and that doesn't mean EQ2 for me.. it means no more of my $$$$ being spent on this game.

would you prefer they did it like PoP, where you could get the SAME useless spell 6 times before getting one you like? at least this way you KNOW what you're gonna get

Yah what is the deal with nerfing it? You can run all the way back in the other exeditions with regular invis. At least my cleric could IVU and go be useful to the group in a wipe or whatever. I hate to gripe, or someone will relaize the other expeditions are "too easy" and split them with undeads in between like murks. You might begin to think you really should never get your spells or buy plat to be able to get them in the bazaar at .. 50 to 90 k .. nonsense

Well, it seems once again we are not to have any kind of Invis whether it be IVU or just regular invis...as, they even nerfed our one good use for IVU...even though i know IVU can be used in other zones...but, they are so obsolete noone hunts there anymore. Found a use for it recently with warrior epic kill in Veksar...but, even then part way thru veksar you have to switch to regular invis ROFLMAO...Brilliant NOT!!

Today's patch message says mobs in expedition zones like Murkglider Hive will now all agro. Previously the bats and rats were indiff and you could IVU past all the others.

Every time I think Sony is finally finding a use for our obscure spells they nerf it.

Okay honestly in my opinion, these runes need to be dropping ALOT more in OoW zones, if that is the ONLY way to get 66+ spells, they need to be just a tad more common. I fought for 6 hours in WoS one day and killed 9 names, and not ONCE did they drop a rune. Maybe I was just having a stroke of bad luck, but that was ridiculous.

I hunt WoS regularly and see a rune drop off probably 2/3's of the nameds we kill

well, Target Type: Single

hopefully this is a targetable version of Improved Invis to Undead

(that is, can be cast on group members, and is a guaranteed 10 minute duration).


Will ignore the fact that IVU is not exactly needed very often. Maybe Omens has a mostly Undead zone. (hey, can always hope)

In the instanced dungeon of Murkgliders Hive, it turns out all the murkgliders are in fact undead. Just cast this on your party for a guaranteed 10 minute IVU, and run through the indifferent bats and rats, until you get to the spot where the PH's for the two named are... (they're fairly close in this dungeon; we spent our whole time just fighting back and forth; almost perfect timing for the repop of either named or PH)...

Set up camp and kill PH's (the tatterwing bat and the hideous rat--I know, it sounds like nursery rhymes LOL) until the named spawn. It's nice not to have to fight your way through, since the dungeons are long... Of course, the experience is pretty good. But the experience is also good hunting around the PH's and the runes drop quite frequently.
