aa's and damage

Total of 36 aa's do 215% of spell damage. So 3919.45 unfocused max. With a focus the damage calculations are a bit more, though the crit AA's may only affect the base damage. 20% of 1823 is 364.6, so if you had ID5 you might see 4284.05 if the aa's only work on base damage. If the aa's work on focused damage, you could see up to 4703.34 with ID5.

Spell Casting Fury
2/4/6 AA's
This is a passive ability; it does not need to be activated.
Requirements: Level: 55, Must spend 6 ability points in the General Abilities.
This ability gives you a chance to land critical hits with your direct damage spells. The ability levels increase your chance to score a critical by 2, 4, and 7 percent.

This also gives you the chance to crit on the damage portion of your lifetap. If you crit on the damage portion you will be healed for the full amount of the crit damage you did. At the first level your crits will be 133% of the total damage, at the second level 166%, and 200% of the damage at the third level. Very useful, particularly in groups/raids.

Fury of Magic
3/6/9 AA's
This is a passive ability; it does not need to be activated.
Requirements: Level: 61, Spell Casting Fury at Level 3. This ability further increases your chance to score a critical hit with your direct damage spells.

This is a continuation of Spell Casting Fury. When maxed you will have the chance to crit approximately 14% of the time.

Fury of Magic Mastery
4/8/12 AA's
This is a passive ability; it does not need to be activated.
Requirements: Level: 65, Fury of Magic at Level 3.
This ability further increases your chance to score a critical hit with direct damage spells.

At the final level you will crit approximately 21% of the time.

Destructive Fury
3/6/9 AA's
This is a passive ability; it does not need to be activated.
Requirements: Level 66/68/70 - Fury of Magic Mastery 3
This ability enhances your critical nukes. Each rank directly adds 5% damage to your crits, up to a maximum 15%. Focus effects still only work off the base damage of the nuke, however this will add significant damage to your nukes (up to 2.4% more overall damage). This ability does not increase the frequency of your critical nukes.
Progression: Spell Casting Fury - Fury of Magic - Fury of Magic Mastery - Destructive Fury

The last of our nukes

With DD4 and AAs this babe hits for over 4k(4068 the best yet 8). with Neuro the best I got was 3.4k so this is a big help spell dont slag off until you have right gear on raids this will be nice on trash mobs and also a finishing blow for named as you will still have plenty of mana left 8)

runes
# Sep 20 2004 at 10:33 AM Rating: Decent
Minor and lesser runes can be bought in baz, although prices are way too high at the moment.

Hand in to Karsor the Mad in Draniks Scar...S.W. corner of zone.

Got a Lesser today in WoS.

Minor for 66 spell...Lesser for 67.

Think you only get 1 spell though, so curious if anyone knows how we get the others?

In case you haven't received any further input from this yet, when you hand in the next rune of that level you will get another spell and supposedly will not duplicate what you already have.
Curious to know though is what happens when you have all the spells for that level and hand in another rune.

When you have all the spells for the level of rune you are handing in the NPC says something to you and gives you back the rune.
Poison
# Sep 16 2004 at 9:01 PM Rating: Default
Going to correct you in one way Dratinin. The resist check on this nuke is poison based. Few mobs that are not undead have much resist verses poison. So this nuke will land for max alot more then a magic based nuke will. On the down side I have never seen a poison specific nuke focus unlike magic specific focuses. But necro nukes should always have been poison based to start with.

New necklace - Warped choker of Enslavement (corrections, anyone?) nec only, decent stats, FT2 oops.. 'mana regen' +2 - Ups the damage on poison based spells, includes dots and nukes.

Don't think it's been added to the site yet, I drooled over it first time I saw it though. Looking for info on where it drops if anyone has btw : )

Runes drop off named ... I doubt named in DS, but named in other zones. You can not solo the named in Proving Grounds. You might be able to solo some in Nobels Causeway. I would stay in NC and hunt named... best chance IMO.

I was in a group last night and saw a spell drop. They drop runes that are tradeable to classes. Lost 6 666 by 5 points. blech. No way it could have been soloed. Dropped a nice dru/cle/sha shoulder item 125hp/120mana. Not a GoD / PoTi upgrade but decent for someone who was missing a good item in that slot.

Still dont know where the stones are handed in to get the spells... but at least I saw one drop.

and since when are necros supposed to out nuke anyone? Necros are the masters of dots, not nukes.

Shamans? they get about 1 dot that gets close to ours damage wise, only 1, necros get about 15 200+ dots

even if 1600dd is far weaker compared to other non-wizzard classes, its still an upgrade from Neurotoxin, damage wise.

Enchanters best nuke is 1210, Madness of Ikkibi spell. But enchanters arent used for nuking, their for CC.

Best nuke a shaman gets is only 925, but a shaman is there to buff, slow, and do whatever else a shaman does

Magicians are dps, they need big nukes, and they got em

Druids, get nukes of 2500dd, but they're there to add dps, buff, and spot heals

clerics? clerics get 1700dd, so what? its only 100 damage different, and if a cleric is nuking more than healing, something is wrong.

and wizards, well theyre the nuking masters (or should be) 3000-4000 damage nukes, with criticals upwards of 15k+

Necros arent used for nuking, there for dotting, most of the dots we have are 300-400+ damage per tick, and most of our dots stack with each other, plus dot criticals necros could deal close to 2-3k each tick, plus pet, which would be around 200 damage per tick (considering it was landing hits most of the time, since the pets often attack about 10 times during 6 seconds)

Necros arent wizards, nor should any of their nukes out damage a wizard's nuke of that level, but necros have a nuke for those certain situations. For being a non-wizard a necro still has a decent nuke, 1600dd can crit for over 3k, but ill say it again, necros should not nuke for damage, they dot.

in short:

If you want to nuke better then a cleric, go play a wizard.

dotting & nuking
# Jun 14 2005 at 11:34 AM Rating: Decent
Hello.

For Exp groups, necros dot - and we dot well (yum). But, on raids, mobs are often dead by the time we get our 3rd dot cast - nukes are much more effective use of mana. Mind you, the end mob/boss in the raid, we'll dot & nuke for extra damage.

To be fair, I'm thinking PoP content for this - like crawling thru Sol Ro to finally get to the mini boss. The mobs take about 12 seconds (up to 20 seconds) to die once 'assist' is called. It's rare for me to get off more than one nuke per mob (mana would hurt too, if I did)

In exp groups, I just stack dots. Yup, that's certainly what we do. That, and send in pet, of course.

Sound arguement, agreed with for the most part except for one minor detail.. What nuke do we have that does 1600?

Granted I don't have this spell yet, but according to info it's 1788. Combine that with an improved damage item or probably even better Warped choker of Enslavement (effect: murk bile) and wrap it all up with the Destructive Fury AA... mmm

1788 With all of them sounds like you could easilly be critting for 4k and change.. Considering we're not nukers, That ain't too shabby.

Just looked at post date, could have something to do with a 1600 nuke :)

Would be nice to have a lifetap this big in DMG then wed realy be putting out ome uber DMG could even crit more than mages only necro's with ToL and SC3 at the very least will know what im talkig about and if you dont then i feel bad for you but we could crit for over 8k with all crit AA's in both heal crit's and spell DMG crit's and lots of focus effects, though, it wouldnt acctualy do 8k DMG =P but it would be healing for that much =D
