Always wondered why they give the hp/ac buff a group version yet have never given a group version of the ac one

I'd use it occasionlly...at least its more useful than the direction and hand of direction due to the fact druid buff wont stack with them so they are never needed

While I holeheartedly agree with your assessment of the foolish 'rune progression' I do have a minor remark: the only spell that is worth anything in the 'greater rune chain' is actually the second one (armor of the champion) - after that you should stop and move on the glowing and ancient. So, the truth is, you will totally waste one greater (the one for this spell). That, however, is bad enough, especially when you think about the other classes who might put this greater rune to much greater use.
