Wonshikee said "I really don't understand why SoE gives cleric spells like this. Its a waste of a buff slot considering it has a 0 resist mod, its very unreliable."

I've only ever had it be resisted by mobs that simply resist the stun portion of all spells.

" Our 68 spell line is nearly useless,"

Hardly.

"the proc hammer has a lower procmod than our 63 version."

This much is true. If I'm hasted I will often equip the lower hammer because it procs far more often. However if you just want a +15 wis thingie to hold when you're not worried about how often you proc, it's lovely.

"Our UD DD is nice, with its low resistmod and instant recast, but then again its a situational use."

True on the situational use - but calling it nice seems to refute your earlier statement that the level of spells is nearly worthless.

I would add that pious light is a godsend when you need to heal a good bit and simply cannot wait for ch to pop.

It's also nice to get a new hammer pet since the old one has been wacking air since about lvl 65.

I feel deistic howl was a jip -- how often do you really cast fear these days?

and of course I think Death's Regret could have been something more interesting.

I use stuns all the time. They allow time for slower to slow and war to build aggro back. I'm raid buffed over 8k hp so can take a hit or two if it resists with no problem at all.

Raid buffed has taken on a meaning beyond "Every buff spell that will help my toon." It now implies high/maxed Group Leader and Raid Leader Attributes, as well as maxed Guild Tribute. Some of that for obvious reasons is ONLY available in raids and some only likely to be used in raids. That can make a difference of 450 mana/HP or more over spell buffage and so does have a meaning here.

Personally I think he was speaking of buffs of many types by many classes that add hp's. You usually find those different classes in raids by coincidence *gasp*. He probably finds it easier to say "I had raid buffs" than saying "I had Bot9, Symbol, Spiritual Vigor, Boar..." so on and so forth.

As a cleric I would take Bot9 and Symbol over Virtue anytime. :p

Why? Bot9 doesn't stack with your Armor of the Zealot. So as a cleric I'd use Armor to get my mana regen and still get the hp from conviction. Silly cleric.

Focus doesn't stack with armor either.

Armor 563 hp, 9 mana/tick
Conviction 1787 hp
Total 2350 hp, 9 mana/tick

Skin 772 hp, 9 mana/tick
Symbol 1137 hp
Focus 680 hp
Total 2589 hp, 9 mana/tick

The priest trio is better than the cleric combo.

I really don't understand why SoE gives cleric spells like this. Its a waste of a buff slot considering it has a 0 resist mod, its very unreliable. Atleast give it some kind of resist mod so we can do more than gain aggro with it. Our 68 spell line is nearly useless, the proc hammer has a lower procmod than our 63 version. Our UD DD is nice, with its low resistmod and instant recast, but then again its a situational use.

Well I don't know. When I'm killing lowbie mobs in Plane of Innovation and such, or farming and want to chain stun I'm very happy with my stuns. As a time equipped cleric who can't do OOW due to computer problems, and since I have not gotten an elemental / kod'taz group invite since OOW came out, I find myself tanking bot all the time. With the new OOW spells combined with my old spells I can *almost* chain stun in BoT, where I group with my family and work on AA. They don't get resisted all that much in my experience other than on Krigers and named and it's always a rush tanking as a cleric, more fun than boring 'ol heal heal heal and if somebody dies from an add get yelled at by other group members. ;(
