Good for when the CH message from you cleric pops up, and you are at 2%, heh. Last just long enough for CH to finish.

This is a question I've had since my monk hit 54: so why not just use whirlwind? If you can manage to get all the mobs in your front you could return damage and feign just before it wears off. I suppose if you're really in a jam you could use this before you would avoid all melee damage rather than having to worry about which direction it comes from, but then I pose my next question: does whirlwind work like regular ripostes where you must be facing them or do you simply not return the damage if you're not facing them?

Riposte discs do not block flurries or rampages, nor do they block thier ripostes of your own normal attacks. If you need to avoid all melee damage, use this. If you can handle a riposte back or a flurry, then use whirlwind

If a mob has a high level damage shield, is a 1% and needs to be held there till someone is rezzed, mobs are being mezzed and you dont want to break, waiting for tank to reaquire agro, the possibilities are endless

A couple of those make sense, but if you need to hold a mob at 1% you're better off just turning around so you don't riposte, seeing as how this only lasts 12 seconds. If you're waiting for a tank to reaquire aggro the majority of the time you could still just use whirlwind. Ripostes can't be riposted so you wouldn't be taking damage and no mobs are going to attack fast enough to cause a high end warrior to not be able to regain aggro. You definitely have a point if you're low HP and they've got a good DS or the mobs are being mezzed (though I'd probably just turn off auto attack because if I really had to feign to not die, chances are the mez would land before it got to the enc or anybody else).
