Is there anything from another class that this spell does not stack with (i.e. Rune spells)?

Not a Rune Spell
# Nov 30 2003 at 11:13 AM Rating: Decent
Ok folks I want to clarify a few things about this spell.
1. It is not a "Cleric Rune Spell" by saying this you imply it works just like the rune spell absorbing 700pts dmg before you take any dmg. This is wrong and no it is not close enough. Sorry but FACTS = good, close enough = bad.

2. Lets call it Vie line of spells which absorb 10% of the physical damage smashed, punched, sliced, diced, chop, puree etc...up to xxx amount of hp depending upon the lv of the spell. This paticular spell will absorb 700pts as it says above.

3. You purchace this off of LDoN Vendor in Everfrost for 72 points.

4. You give this to everyone with an open buff slot if you have the mana. Duration is good for non main tank types.
5. Tanks you need to speak up when you lose this spell. Less dmg on you. Less healing for the cleric = less down time.

ADDED BONUS: Works great with Mana Stones, Cann type spells. Prolly get nerfed because of this fact.
damage?

This is spell is bought at one of the Adventure Merchants. My question is, how many adventure points are needed for this spell?
RE: GoV
# Sep 16 2003 at 12:36 PM Rating: Decent
From the information I've seen, the cleric spell Guard of Vie costs 72 Adventure Points obtained during adventures in Miragul's Menagerie (the LDoN dungeons in Everfrost Peaks).

Keep in mind the following explanation:

* * * * *

The most points you can spend at any merchant is equal to the points you have won in THAT TYPE of dungeons. But you can spend points from any of the other dungeons there.

Merchants will only sell you items that cost no more than the total number of points you have earned in that theme. This means if you have done 10 normal adventures in Deepest Guk, you can buy anything that costs up to 510 points (51 x 10) from the merchant in South Ro. If these 10 adventures are your only wins, then you cannot buy anything at all from the other four themes, even though you might have 510 unspent points.

Points you earn cannot simply be spent anywhere. Continuing with the above example, if you did not spend those 510 points, and then went and did 10 more adventures in Mistmoore, you would have a total of 1020 points. You could spend all 1020 of those points at either the Butcherblock or South Ro camps, but you would not be able to buy any one item that cost more than 510 points from either one. If you saved your points, and then you then did two adventures in Miragul's, you would have 1122 points unspent, but would not be able to buy anything more expensive than 102 points at the Everfrost camp. You could buy 11 100 point items if you wanted there, but nothing that cost more.

Adventure merchants only display items you are currently allowed to buy, and a few extra items that you can almost buy. This means that if you only have 510 points in Deepest Guk, then the most expensive item you will be able to see on the merchant will be an item that costs around 600 points. There may be a super uber item for 3000 points, but you will not know until you get close to having 3000 total earned points in Guk. Note, this is based on the total points you have earned in a theme, not how many points you have unspent.

Why on Norrath they made this so confusing and complex I will never understand.

It's hard enough to find an LDoN group without having squabbles over which camp we need to go to because a certain group member wants an aug or a spell from a certain camp.

Update: There are several items available for point redemption in each camp that are not theme specific. Examples are certain spells, several augmentation gems, most lower level charms, and even a few items.

I hope this helps a bit. Safe travels and good hunting.

One minor change correction

I have only done Mistmoore, at the Other shops I can purchase the Charms that have up to 6 point value.

So you can purchase very very limited stuff until you have earned points at a themes camp.

Not certain but some items are listed theme - others are listed theme Mistmoore, I assume the Theme- ones are buyable at any theme store, while the ones with a specific theme listed are only available at that themes store.

Good Luck To You All. Can't wait to get this and the Group version of Temperance
what theme?
# Sep 16 2003 at 7:09 AM Rating: Default
and as someone else asked, what component is used? pdots?
RE: what theme?
# Sep 29 2003 at 7:49 AM Rating: Decent
Someone has already replied that it's from Miragul's. Assuming it's like it's level 24 brother, Ward of Vie, it takes no component. If it did, I sure hope it wouldn't take a peridot, since it's not quite as good as a Rune! :)
RE: what theme?
# Feb 12 2004 at 12:47 PM Rating: Decent
I actually like this better than rune. 700 points of protection from rune = one maybe 2 blows, then fight like normal. A 10 percent reduction means a change in the rate of damage, giving more time to get a CH or other heal off. Rune is great for clerics and casters trying to fend off accidental agro, and sometimes for raid events, but this one works for everyday hunts.
where?
