Spirit of the Shrew and Pack Shrew are sold at different LDoN wayfarer camps and the price of the spell, and any other LDoN spell, is based on the level at which YOU can use the spell. So it is broken up into class specific scrolls to regulate the price. If they made one scroll for everyone, like traditional multi class scrolls, then it would cost the same number of points regardless who was buying it. The locations where you can buy each spell are listed below. You must earn at least as many points in that particular theme as the spell costs before the merchant will sell it to you. They are, of course, all nodrop.

Spirit of the Shrew - single version
SHM (lvl29) 24 points - South Ro (Guk)
BST (lvl39) 48 points - South Ro (Guk)

DRU (lvl34) 36 points - East Commons (Rujark)
RNG (lvl44) 72 points - East Commons (Rujark)

Pack Shrew - group version
SHM (lvl34) 36 points - Butcherblock (Mistmore)
BST (lvl44) 72 points - Butcherblock (Mistmore)

DRU (lvl39) 48 points - Everfrost (Miragul)
RNG (lvl49) 200 points - Everfrost (Miragul)

Why does Sony have such a Hardon for Rangers triple the price for Pack Shrew....and why....and have have to be higher lvl......Rangers always get screwed.....

Rangers get skrewed on spells because shamans and druids get skrewed on melee skills...I would have thought that was obvious

Well, this is a mistake IMHO. If anything, the Ranger costs should be at least in proportion with the Beastlords. Both classes are hybrids. Beastlords receive it at double the cost of its parent class; Rangers should be the same.

I agree with the comment about melee/spell balancing. But I think the point about the cost is a justified one. 200 does seem a little high, higher level needed to cast it and a higher price, mm.. double wammy. Why shouldnt spells cost the same?

As you go up in levels the spells cost more, thus the justification is that the spell should cost more for the ranger at a higher level because for the ranger it is a higher level spell. I do not agree that the actual cost difference is justified in this case (better than quadruple actually). That is quite excessive.

A bit high, but then I think an LDoN group will pick a ranger over a druid anytime (Sony made us so limited indoors). And, like was said before, our melee stinks, and why can't we shoot a bow?

I beg to differ on being 'shafted' indoors, and that people choose rangers before druids.

I get LDoN invites regularly throughout a day. I'm not an incompetent group member indoors. Regen, damage shield, heal spells, DD (minus the stunning line), succor, Ensnare, root; these are all castable indoors.

We cannot kite in the cramped rooms of a dungeon, but we are not gimped within an indoor zone like you claim. I actually rarely have a problem indoors vs. outdoors.

If I weren't one myself, I would take a druid over a ranger because they are multi-talented. Rangers serve as dps. Druids can serve as DPS (nukes), crowd control (snare mobs off to the side/into already cleared rooms and root them out of the way), spot heals (if cleric gets in trouble, or if you simply don't have one) and evac (if it gets really nasty).

And we can't shoot a bow because we can't. Look at what we -can- do.

"our melee stinks" PFFFFFFFFF, speak for yerself buddy; maybe is cause of me RBG/Razor Shan Tok/Blackened Acrylia Blade combo, or just the fact that HOLY CRAP I'M SUPER-AWESOME!! but even without double-doting (for about 300pts) snaring (BIG aggro getter) nuking (120pt) or taunting (well duh), I almost always get aggro when in LDoN or any other grp if i start atking w/in first 10% of mobs life being taken. Think some of you sissy whinin ranger punks need to grow some brass, hike up yer skirts, and cut the girly whinin crap out :-P

I believe Gilrion is a druid, thus mentioning how druids get shafted indoors. Rangers don't. Reading comprehension is your friend.

Your a CASTER not a melee class......thats why you dont have good melee skills, thats why you dont have archery......but hey if you want better melee and you want a bow......then give rangers all your ports.....

Ummm.. It's the Miragul's camps... IE - LDON dungeon camps (Everfrost, East Commons, etc). You do LDON dungeons and get Adv points. You buy spells/items/etc with the AP. The actual Miragul is like a bad guy and stuff.. Dont try to buy from him.
