Circle of Cooling shows as a level 39 cleric spell on EQPlayers.
Anybody recently located it or does EQPlayers use (and not confirm) the test server data, as well?

I have seen this spell(Circle of Winter) dropped in CoM once..So I am assuming that it is a rare drop...Unfortunately I lost the roll on it but another ranger did get it =)...

This is the thread for Circle of COOLING. Circle of Winter is a completely different spell and is rather common.
The only spell that resembles this one is for sale in the bazaar. Cirlce of Summer DRU/52 RNG/62.
Test spell that didn't go live. I'm thinking they instead changed it to the Circle of Summer, ect.

I about dropped out of my socks last night as a 70 ranger dropped this on me as a trash buff. I asked her where she got it and said said Skyfire. I am not sure how long ago though. I should see her tonight and I will ask

No follow up yet, so i'm pretty sure the spell you had cast on you was Circle of Winter, which does indeed drop in Skyfire.

My druid on Stromm got this spell from Skyfire Mountains in May 2004. I forget what mob dropped it but it was probably a wurm of some kind. We were hunting for my bard pals' epic drop, wurm guts or whatever, and were chain-killing the stuff that pops at Eldrig the Old's spawn point.
It's a group fire protection spell.
Still missing a few dropped spells though, may have to bring some friends and pillage the zone. Spell drop rates are just... well, you know.

I've seen the spell with this exact same name in the bazaar for sale, and it is druid/ranger ONLY. I therefor believe this is a Lucy error that hasn't been updated.

So I can only get this spell by mob killing???????this will be fun
As of today, I have been unable to find this spell in the bazaar, in dulak (lots of friends hunt there - it's never dropped for any of them), or on any cleric or druid vendor. If anyone has info on WHO has this spell, I'd be grateful, but I don't believe it exists on all servers.

Have had this spell (L-53 SvF) and its sister spell (L-57 SvC) cast on my group by our Guild's level 60 Ranger (while in Nadox - getting my Icewind spell)
It overwrote my Resist Fire spell which I had cast on everyone for swimming in the lava. I know its live, I'll just need to ask him where he got it :)

But it did prompt me to remember who it actually was... when I did, I realized that I had met him on a non-live server (not Test).
So the two spells that were originally slated to be released never actually made it to the live servers due to the near-redundancy of the Circle of Winter/Summer spells at higher levels.
So sorry to everyone, I goofed as I can't even seem to keep my "Live" and "Non-live" experiences separate. :\
But I also believe there are simlilar discussions on The Ranger's Glade that have a more detailed explanation of why the spells didn't go live at the very last minute.

as it seems that only some servers accually have that spell to my knowlege there is no group reist fire and cold for clerics .. assuming that this spell is new GOd spell only expasion will tell the truth.. and i have found that the oficiall strategy guides are often very wrong have had them before and seem tht when i had a wiszard that the stradegy guide said it has the spell locate corpse for it on a wizard.. hehe i know thta to be wrong .. often these posts are often wrong on spell lists .. very few times i have seen castersrealm to be wrong .. 99 percen to fthe tiem it is right on the money .. hoep this puts some insite to people acculally looking for it

There are several spells listed here on Allakhazam that are not listed anywhere else, like Caster's Realm for instance. Seeing that no one has any idea of where or how to get this, just how in the world do we even know this exists, or is someone simply making stuff up and posting it here as if it were actually a spell? Thanks for any insight.
the spells listed on allakhazam are taken from the sp.dat local file. This is EQ's file that lists all spells in the game (it doesn't mean it's possible to get it, or that a mob casts it, but it is not "made up")
It is listed in the official strategy guide, It just seems to be hard to find

This spell is a pre-CoW (Circle of Winter). It is not a hp buff and does not consume a peridot or any other component. The information says that it is a fire resist buff.... thus it is like CoW, just lower.

Though the circle of cooling/heating spells are found live through Lucy, to date no one that I know of has found where/how to get it. I have checked the Druid/Ranger and of course cleric boards. It does not appear to be on any of the Wayfarer Camp adventure merchants. It may be a drop, or it may be quested, or maybe they forgot to add it, but as of yet, no one has it (despite meowmeow's post ;)

I found this spell! meow! it dropped off a named mob in Dulak's harbor he is a npc wizard named Goglin hope this helps. Wiz is about 53 hits for mid 100's and nukes for 600's depending on resists. Not sure exactly he pops but I seen him on the boats cause he wanders =/

Im not the smartest person but under target type it says Groupv1. Hmmm. Does that mean its Temperance as a group buff?. I can see that being usefull.

the 'v' in v1 stands for Version. It just means that your end up replacing this spell with a better equivilient later on (v2, v3, v4 etc).

Actually, Group v1 means it only casts on your group. Group v2 can be done as a /target group buff. Usually it takes a higher level spell to get into the v2 range, such as KEI/Bot9/Vallon's Quickening/etc.

Amazingly, this looks an AWFUL lot like the spell:Temperence, which is a level 44 spell, which you have to quest for.
???EH??? Unless the information has been updated, this is NOTHING like Temperance (an HP/AC buff) ... this is more like a version of Circle of Winter
