Spell is crap

So, at 34 and still at 38 this spell is crap. Maybe it used to have its benefits but right now, greater healing heals for more HP using less mana. Maybe the recast time is quicker, but I dont notice it. Actually, greater healing has been consistently healing for 380, and this spell seems to heal for 360 more often than not. If I still need to "grow into it" then by the time its worth using, I'll have Superior healing. Wish I hadn't wasted the plat on this spell, never going to use it...

Just started on a druid and was surprised to see this spell. The exp used to be nice for the quest so I will likely do it for that anyway. However, the lvl 29 greater heal is better as a healing tool.

GH: max heal 350 for 115 mana cast time 3 sec => 3.04hp/mana or 116.7hp/sec
HW: max heal 425 for 150 mana cast time 3.75sec => 2.83hp/mana or 113.3hp/sec

So, GH heals more efficiently and more over time.

HW is actually more HpS if you consider the global recast delay. brings GH up to 4.5 sec and HW up to 5.25 sec meaning HW is slightly more heal per given period of time -- about as much more than GH as you show GH being more than HW without the global recast. Though I do agree it's somewhat lackluster as an upgrade.. still better than nothing till sup heal like it was before LoY.
Easy?

Got the required drops easy enough. Was in a group (levels 40-46) near the wharehouse/docks for less than 2 hours. Pulled targets of oppourtunity and Treasure Sorters/Storage Workers whenever possible. By the time we were finished I had looted two Golden Emblems. I then had someone cast Identify on me while I held them (one at a time) since I had forgotten which mob dropped them. Turns out I had one of each, turned them in for the spell. Probably was 1 in 10 that dropped the emblem (I ONLY looted 2, so lucky me, 41 druid).

It is very worth it.
Do not wait till 44 to get it though.
Go to dulak to level mid 30's and keep hunting for the Emblems, you should have it long before 44. Beats trying to heal only 300 at a time for sure. Took 4 days to get mine but i got it long before i was eligable for the next vender sold healing spell.

I got mine in 2 days. Patience is the key. Plus it does not hurt to OOC- that you are looking for the symbols incase they drop for someone else, who will not be using them.
3 Hours - WOOT!!!

I got both my drop in 3 hours!! I went to the Boat dock almost straight out from the zone line and my group pulled them from the warehouse straight ahead of us. We killed about 6 of the shady treasure sorters and got it. Then about 10 of the storage workers. I believe they dropped when the mob was in darl elf form! Good luck to you I need to go play with my spell!!Smiley: yippee

Unless you are one of thoughs ppl that must have all your spells that are avalable to you at your lev. in your spell book. Then this spell realy isn't worth the trouble. The only bonus to this spell is it fills the gap between Greater healing and Superior Healing.
Just because, compared to Chloroblast this spell takes longer to cast, taking more mana, with the same recast delay and heals for just a lil less HP's. So in a chain heal situation this would suck you dry real quick.
On the other hand if you just want to fill the gap between Greater and Superior and don't mind taking the hour's of time to get the quest competed good luck to you...
So don't get me wrong if you feel the need to get this spell by all means get it but it's not going to be a good part of your healing long...

I hope this helps some ppl

Spent my lvls 44-50 soloing here constantly to get the Tunare version to drop. Didn't happen unfortunately. Feel free to try in the meantime. Its good exp but as stated above, superior healing isn't that far away either.

Lvl 52 and still haven't gotten it. I give up. :P

Hmm, the way I see it, this spell, which you can cast at lvl 44, does 125hp more healing than Greater Heal, which you also can cast at lvl 44. The so called "gap" between Greater Healing and Superior Healing (max heal 583) is 7 lvls.. I think that it might be worth goin to Dulak, doing some group or solo exping, with the occais. /ooc to see if the pieces for the quest have dropped and folks don't need. Just my thoughts. An extra 125hps is not bad if you have the opportunity to use the spell for 6 or 7 lvls. No?

Key word there is opportunity. If the sucker is so rare a drop that you don't get it before sup heal then the point is moot aye?

Go there for exp. Do this quest as an aside but not as a priority. Of course part of the problem is that it says RNG on the item. So no one ever calls it out when there are just druids in the zone. Unless they know better.

Btw I have looted 20+ Karana versions now. Still no Tunare and im almost lvl 55.
Got it!

Camped the storage sheds for about 8 hours total. Started just into level 44 and got it before 2 yellows into 45. There is no need to identify the emblems, you just need one from the treasurers and one from the workers.

However, root does not stick well on these guys. I had help from a higher level druid to get my emblems and would recommend the same if you want to get the spell near level 44. They are definitely killable at 44 but it's VERY slow and you will have a lot of downtime. At 45 it's better with KEI but still tough to clear the sheds.

If you are able to get a druid with dire charm to help you it shouldn't be too bad of a camp but these things drop so randomly you could still sit there for days. I'm just glad I got it finally. It's nice to finally be able to heal for more than I could at 29.

I have spent about a week looking for the golden emblam to drop off the worker. I had the help of a 65 sk the whole time. I'm starting to think that this spell is not worth the time when at level 51 you get superior healing.

My self and 4 of my other friends have been camping the wearhouses for about 40 to 50 hours of game time. All we have to show for this is a bunch of crap and a few blue diamonds. We found 3 gold coins of Karana but nothing else. Who do i have to sleep with to get the other coin to drop???? Why cant i find the other coin?
I don't care, I liked doing the thing!
# Oct 13 2003 at 6:12 AM Rating: Good
Went here for the xp, mostly, and the xp was heavenly!

Didn't expect it, but finally, after off and on with the sorters and workers, got the two emblems.

By the way, anyone using dots, find a kindly mage to summon a Rallican Iron Bracelet for you. It increases the damage of the dots, sometimes by a little, sometimes by ALOT! LOL! Saves on mana, and takes the mobs down faster.

How I see it
# Aug 16 2003 at 11:18 AM Rating: Default
This is just me and how I see this spell. I had try to get the spell for some time now. I spent about 3 months working on it, but for only about a total of maybe 3 days. I am lazy when it comes to finshing stuff. Anyway back to topic. This spell is not really worth the time camping for the drops; being that by the time you get it you will already have superiour heal any way. The heal is about 485 max or something close. Only way I see it being worth getting if 1) your like me and want all your stupid spells (I even got beguile plants) or 2) you can get here at a low level WITH a group.

I say with a group because even at 51 when is which I did most of the quest they break root a TON and the zone is tough to move in because of posible adds. I found best to bring a tank and you become a healer. Me and Bestlord friend easly did a wearhouse with C3. She let pet tank most of the time and I would DD the mob or she would tank while I DD and Healed. Just throw on a DS on your tank and go at it.

I think SOE has now incressed the drops a little. If all else fails just sit a few hours at a time and watch for OOCs or Shouts on it. Many people seem to just pass them up even other druids latly. I guess people feel ripped off. Oh well I am done. Good luck to you guys.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 01 2003 at 10:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I cant find this anywhere. Its kinda stupid. Why cant i just buy it? Its not like im healing 2000 hp of damage.
Rant
# Jul 30 2003 at 7:11 PM Rating: Default
Does anyone else have a problem with this spell? The only way to get it is to buy an expansion that has a whole 5 zones. Then be fortunate enough to get the drop items. I'm a capitalist but come on, we do pay to use this service every month. It just seems to me that it's a spell, not some uber item. After purchasing all the other expansions, and playing for (and paying for) two years, I feel cheated. Is it just me? I'd like to know how others feel, both druid and non. Wouldn't you like to be groupped with a druid that has better than a 300hp heal?

Drop rate.....
# Mar 20 2003 at 6:28 AM Rating: Decent
I've been hunting in this zone for over a week now. For the last 3 days doing nothing but the Shady/Worker buildings near the Dandolak docks.

In 3 days, I have had 2 golden emblems drop from the Shady's, and ZERO from the workers.

In that same time, we've had over 10 of the abalone earrings, 3 blackened eyes, 4 boots, 1 chain bracelet (Oceancrasher deckhand add), 5 BD, and 7 diamonds, and various other gems.

I have to say that the drop rate on the emblems is horrid, but the rest of the items are dropping about right.

Edit: Have been hunting with 52/53 Beastlord (Me), and a friend's Druid for DS/snare/heal. Druid has gone from 47 to 51 in the last week, and I've gone from 52-53, and 3AA's. Damn good xp here, anyway.

Getting this spell
# Mar 04 2003 at 7:56 AM Rating: Excellent
There's some bogus info out there on how to get this spell.

1. Go to Dulak
2. Not far from the entrance are the workers and treasure sorters which you need to kill.
3. Save one GOLD EMBLEM from each mob.
4. Do the turn in as listed on EQDruids.com

Now, I'm a lvl 48 druid. I went into the zone just after dinging 48 to get this spell. I'm now three yellow into level (some soloing and some groupage) and have not gotten even one Gold Emblem. The mobs are dark blue to me but can hit for 125 points of dmg. It's not an easy zone to solo. Don't even try coming here solo if you're lower than 48. Mobs resist roots and snares on average about 1 out of 4 pulls. I have 255 WIS and it can easily take 100% mana to kill just one. Wandering guards make it so you have to time your pulls so they aren't within range otherwise you'll be in rough shape without full mana.

Good luck. It's a pain in the butt.

There is a few safe places to pull to in the zone for these mobs. One is at the entrance to the dock, you can get there if you zone in and just head straight until you hit the docks and pull from the building accross from you. You can also go into that building and there is a loft that is a safe place to sit and pull to. Soloing is possible, I'm 45 and with KEI i have 243 wis and can take a mob out in about 75% mana, 50% on a good pull. Still no quest item drops but I've gotten 2 blue diamonds, a star ruby, the new LOY druid boots, and the 5wis new LOY earring. It's been a while, but I still got some worthwhile drops for my time.
