This spell has always been 16, it says so right in EQ. That means it does 16 damage per wave, and Alla should DEFINITELY make this more clear. This spell is not "unique" or "odd," it is exactly the same as every other wave spell. It is only useful for a short time for "big damage". Firestorm does much more damage and still for the low price of 34 mana. Icestrike is useful however because you can use it when you're going to hit yourself. This spell has never done "3 waves of 46;" 46 is the total amount of damage (if no strikes miss). I am not sure why there is so incorrect information for such a low-level spell.

Just used this spell 5 minutes ago and Alla has it right. 3 waves of 16 per wave.

This spell does hit you in tutorial, but you can target a corpse close by and get the distanced down so it will not hit you, thats how I killed the overlord
Best low level spell IMO.

This spell is great. 3 waves of 46pts of damage for 17 mana. (Then add in the occasional crit.) 138 damage total. I rarely get less than the 3 full waves. Great for this low level. I used all the way into my 20's. Just some insight.
Best low level spell IMO.

This spell has been NERFED. I distinctly remember this doing 3 waves of 46 as the poster above said. Now it is only 16. It did seem WAY overpowered for its level and the mana cost, but I enjoyed it in the tutorial. Oh well.
Best low level spell IMO.

Just used this spell about 10 minutes ago, I can confirm that is is doing three waves of 46 damage each. Looks like it was un-nerfed. :)
Best low level spell IMO.

This spell is odd, in that it is a multistrike AoE. The 10 points of damage occur three times, on consecutive ticks, and the target gets a saving throw each time. This makes it good for root-and-nuke, since you get more potential damage for your mana than you would get from Shock of Fire. At level 6, I find that I can land it twice during a rooting. The third cast will land just as the root breaks, so only one of the three strikes will hit. All three strikes will land on the same spot on the ground, so this is useful only on rooted targets.

I tried casting it when I had several things beating on me, and got an odd result. Only the first strike hit all the targets, but I got hit all three times. Therefore, it's not very useful in that situation...

Not only is this useful against rooted targets, but it is useful against targets engaged by a tank in a group situation. While your AE spells will damage you, they will not damage group members, and there is more chance of the target remaining in the are the whole time if it is being tanked.

Cool thing is in the tutorial you dont take any damage at all. I used this to my advantage and killed Overlord Gnikan solo (of course i had a temp).
