Just a little FYI took my 47 Mage over and parked her just out side the luggalds at the fort then with my 72 cleric on the other account i preceded to lay waste to the whole fort i made 4 lvl's on the mage (while grouped with the cleric) before i got my flicker of lava to drop the flicker of sea was common to drop took me about 8 hrs total over a 3 day span to get the quest completed now the mage has a pet hot :)

luggaids are nothing.. luggaLds are a race of creatures from Ykesha though. There are many kinds found throughout different LoY zones.

click here for search results for "luggald" in eqbeastiary for examples.

are you serious?
# Jul 27 2006 at 4:32 AM Rating: Decent
yes lvl 65 clerics still use C-heal, is that any assumption that a shaman still uses a lvl 44 slow? or that a 65 enchanter is only casting clarity? Dont be rediculous. thats a horrible comparison.

Quest, have fun with it and when you do finally get the end result, congrats to you! The game isn't just about who has the most cr@p it's about who has had a good time in getting there.

As a level 57 mage I love this spell. I can cast it before entering a difficult fight. I can also cast it while waiting on the recast time of my primary pet heal spell.

Now that you can zone and go invis with your pet, I buff and toy it to the max. Virtue and a Summoned Crystal Belt add over 2000 HP to my 3300K HP Earth Pet.

In a tight fight any extra healing edge is appreciated to keep that valuable pet alive!

duh, pets taking a major beating? dont want to chain pets? fine just alternate this and the normal heal. not mana efficient but still does the job i suppose.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 02 2003 at 5:27 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This spell is not a good spell and can be skiped unless you plan to stay 44 forever as you progress into the higher levels this spell will become rendered useless how verent came up with these spell quest i have no idea but wasting time pursueing these spells for higher lvl player is pointless now i can see the LOY spells that the chanters have they will be able to use their's into and up to lvl 65 with easy and not have to worry about them getting outdated as for mages there is better

Man what a bunch of retards...casting this will help you in the long run cast 5 heals or this and a couple heals now which is gonna be more mana eff. and with this spell on your pet you can focus on bigger crap like nuking the MoB :)

I don't see your reasoning here? How many level 44 spells does any class still use at 65? To say it can be skipped is silly. /shrug

This spell is very useful for Mages of that level and they don't get a better one until level 52. Add to that the fact that they will get very good experience doing the quest.

However, in normal Verant fashion, Mages already get a pet heal at 44 called Refresh Summoning. This heals for 379 and cost the same Mana. So I guess it's down to whether you want to xp in that zone or not. Personally, I thing the quest is worth the effort. :p

what classes still use lvl 44 spells at 65. Hmmm look at CH for clerics.

Yes there is one example you have cited, but if you look at all the level 44 spells for all classes and count total against how many are still used at 65 you will discover a very small percentage. But, I think the point, Lucifor, was trying to make was that this spell does get more healing in for the same mana (granted not a lot more). In addition, HoT spells garner less agro than a direct heal. And in the case of pure casters this means we don't have to worry as much about taking those hits were not designed for.
The Quest

Magicians need to hail Vera in Gunthak. Go thru the usual text mumbojumbo with her and eventually you'll find out she needs help with makeing a potion to cure her sister. You need to collect one Flicker of Lava and one Flicker of Sea (both no drop powder looking stuff) off of Luggaids in Gunthak. They are rather uncommon to drop so expect to kill quite a few of them before you actually get any. Return to Vera these 2 items and she will give you a vial. Take this vial to her sick sister Vira in Temple of Sol Ro. (The nice gnome lady that you did the focus item quests for) She'll chug the vial down and give you a note to give to her sister telling her she is better now. Head back to Vera in Gunthak and give her note and you get the Spell Primal Remedy and she'll also now discuss the quest for Elemental Empathy.

Everything to this quest including the spell reward is no drop so ya gotta do it yourself.
Supposed change?
# Jan 22 2003 at 8:46 PM Rating: Decent
I was reading around on mage comtoriom and they said they supposedly changed this spell to 80hp\tick regen for 5 ticks or something like that. so a total of 400hp for 200 mana over 5 ticks... can anyone confirm?

Edited my old post as a result of the updated spell info today and research on the EQ LoY website.

The EQ LoY website says this indeed this is a 80hp/tick healing for 5 ticks spell like the above comment mentions. The recast time is actually 7.5 seconds. Duration is 30 seconds (5 ticks).

This is a nice addition to the mage spell lineup.
