This has been posted in the forum since 2003.

I find it sad that I pay for this site and find LACK of info like this when itis provided. I am reposting from below..

Details from EQ Druids website:

Grennik Neltrin can be found at the Gunthak Lighthouse area loc 1600, 60

You say, 'Hail, Grennik Neltrin'

Grennik Neltrin says 'Hello, Spiritual. Have you been exploring the island? I came here to discover the secrets of the Broken Skull trolls but I have yet to even explore the island. Rumors that their high priest Nadox held the power to cure any disease have been drifting around Norrath for some time. I've come to see if the rumors are true. Unfortunately the island is much more dangerous than I had imagined and I haven't found anything useful. If you find anything having to do with the troll High priest, please bring it to me.'

In a brew barrel combine A Blackened Vial + Broken Skull clan blood + Gunthak Gulf Water (foraged). If you are successful you will receive a Black Potion

Now combine in a brew barrel a Black Potion + Pure Blood. If you are successful you will receive A Glowing Black Potion.

The combine should be fixed now, to a no fail combine!

Hand this potion to Grennik Neltrin and you will receive the spell Pure Blood.

Broken Skull Clan Blood drops from Furious and Vehement Blackhands

Blackened Vials drop from Broken Skull Initiates and Adherents

Pure Blood drops from Luggald Abominations and Initiates

No, probably doesn't. Blindness is a curse, not poison or disease.

blindness is not a curse.. (that would imply it has curse counters, it dosent)

you're gonna want to use the cure blindness spell to cure blindness.. clr lvl 3, shm lvl 7 (detrimental cures/AAs would also work, like radiant cure, respledent cure, respledent cascade, purespirit)

Does this spell cure blindness?
Thanks in advance

Cure Blindness is a separate cleric spell . prolly pallies have also (since they like to "accidentally" nuke themselves with a flash of light. ;)

When I first read about this pure blood spell, There were peeps saying that others grouped with them during the combines and turn in also received the class specific spell. We found this to be not true. A shaman, cleric and myself <druid> were together thru the whole hunt, combine and turn in and I was the only one to receive the spell. Needless to say, we were all disappointed. We now must go back and repeat the whole thing for them to each get the spell. Bummer! Some of the mobs were hard enough to kill the first time, but to have to go back again???? Please get your information right before posting, save some of us the disappointment.

I completed this quest a few days ago.

Gunthak Gulf Water will also drop off 'Marauders' in the village as that is what dropped mine.

Additionally, I was 60th level and received nearly half a yellow of regular experience doing the quest. Heck, it may be worth farming the components and doing it again (if they'll let me.)
LDoN

Will this spell remove the poison from poison traps in LDoN dungeons?
RE: LDoN
# Nov 12 2003 at 1:49 PM Rating: Good
Once on a toon, it cures any poisons, so yes. Velium poison is the exception, and that has an icon of a cold dot, not a poison, so it kind of shows it can't be cured.

One thing I've noticed about LDoN, is they are very consistent with the new trap dots you catch on using icons. If you're poisoned, it will be a poison icon, same with diseased/cursed/dotted, etc.

In LDoN I would use abolish poison over this on poison as a cleric, but this is a huge boost to cleric cure disease line. One dot had at least 50 counters of disease on it, that's 7 casts of counteract disease, and it was doing about 100/tic.

This spell DOES NOT remove Deadly Velium Poison from Velks. Just thought I'd mention it for anyone that was considering completing this pain in the *** quest for specifically that reason, like me.....

I got this spell for my 57 Cleric Geelad on the
Rathe server. It does cure all Disease and Poison spell I have come across so far.

Also it removes the Shaman Slow spells and Disease DoTs. Togor's Insects and Scourge. I have removes these off tanks and myself.

Also it removes Snare and Root spells. I have removed snare and root off group members and myself several times.

I also removed the Enchanter's Tashani spell off group member.

I tested it on the Druid DoTs by having a friend cast a low level Druid DoT on me to see if it would remove it and it DID NOT remove the Druid DoT.

I hope this info is helpfully.

It didn't remove the druid dots, because the swarm line is based on magic resist and the immolation line is based on fire resist. But, i'm sure it'll remove most necro and shaman dots
RE: Pure Blood
# Sep 19 2003 at 5:56 PM Rating: Decent
it removes snare and root... niether of those are disease/poison counter based

Slow is resisted Via MR (except 1 disease based slow) and all of them are removable via cure disease.

As I recall, it removes Thunderblast (manadrain DoT) cast by some of the drakes in HoT.

Yes it helps very much, me and my buddies where wondering on the effectiveness of this spell, as I am half way to finishing it and will most likely complete very soon.

P.S. Little bummed about it not canceling druid Dots ;( bit still
Cures...?

I am searching for the Ultimate Cure. Could this be it? I need something that cures that nasty DoT the spiders in Velks stick on you.

The components were a pain in the butt to collect, took about 6 hours of killing (me 59 druid, 56 Paladin and 49 Cleric) to get all 3 drop items and 20 minutes in gunthak to forage up the water. Also at the turn in I got a yellow bubble of AA xp out of the deal. A nice bonus.
Only really tricky mobs were the adherents since they are shaman and cast like mad and like to gate when low on hp. Keep lots of stuns handy for them. The blackhands and luggalds were all pure melee and not too difficult. Usually took a couple of dots and 1 CH for the pally per kill. Lots n Lots of hitpoints, can't stress that enough. Also, like most LoY zones, root doesn't hold worth a damn on these mobs so parking adds is messy work. A chanter would probably have been useful but with a little careful planning add's were kept to a minimum, usually just the maddeningly abundant wandering mobs.
Good luck to all you healers out there looking to quest for this spell.

According to this link, this quest requires Gunthak Gulf Water, which is foraged and nodrop. How can Shaman (other than Iksar who can forage) supposed to complete this quest?

Kill the pillagers in Gunthak fort just inside tunnel from the beach. They drop the water also for us non-foragers.

In talking to the people in the huts around the lighthouse, I found an interested bit from Grennik Neltrin. She says:

Rumors that their high priest Nadox held the power held the power to cure any disease have been difting around Norrath for some time. I've com eto see if the rumors are true. I will post more if I find the High Priest.

It is a quest spell in the new expansion area. Not sure how to do it yet though.

9 ticks ?
# Feb 25 2003 at 7:51 AM Rating: Default
What's all these posts about it working for 9 ticks ?
It removes 18 "counters".
Different spells add different amounts of counters and that's why sometimes you have to cast a cure spell multiple times for it to work.

The best that druids had before this was the Counteract series that only cleared 8 counters of either disease or poison.
So this is a great spell.

If so where can it be found?
that's why
# Jan 30 2003 at 6:17 PM Rating: Default
cause the best poison spell druids get is only counteract which sucks.
Why?
# Jan 28 2003 at 12:20 PM Rating: Default
What would be the purpose of this spell to give a 9 tick poison reduction, when at level 49 the cleric gets Abolish Poison with a 36 tick poison reduction. It just doesn't seem pertinant!!
RE: Why?
# Jan 28 2003 at 12:23 PM Rating: Default
Ok.. I just saw.... it is a combo of poison and disease reduction for 9 ticks... kthxbye.

Anyone in the know, know where this can be purchased? I would guess in Myrist in the Plane of Kowledge. Then again I thought that place would have every spell known to man et. al., but alas it does not.

is probably on test server like the frost zephyr spell. no idea when it goes live.
