This spell is basically replacing the 3 buffs you currently use for AC and HP.

At level 44 using Resolution/Symbol of Naltron/Armor of Faith:
+HP: 637
+AC: 11

At level 44 using Temp:
+HP: 800
+AC: 12

Other considerations:
1) Both temp and the symbol/reso/AoF combo stack with Armor of Protection (self HP/AC buff),
2) temp lasts way longer than the symbol/resolution/AoF combo,
3) fewer buffs to cast using temp
4) temp costs 510 mana and the symbol/reso/AoF combo costs 575 mana

Sooo in conclusion... Why use the other buffs at these lower levels? I'm not sure.

Female Eru Spirit
# Feb 27 2008 at 1:58 PM Rating: Decent
Female Eru Spirit loc is -862, -667. I forget the date but it was 2:15 pm.

She spawned for me at the same time the Male Eru Spirit did.

FINALLY!!!
# Nov 21 2007 at 2:04 PM Rating: Decent
I finished this quest last night with my level 40 Cleric and with the help of a 57 Shadow Knight in about 3 hours. The Darkwater Emblem was the easy part, it took about 10 minutes. We cleared the first boat in about 5 minutes and moved on to the second boat where we killed about 5 humans and there it dropped... The hard part of the quest was sitting and waiting on the Spirit to spawn. I don't care what anyone in previous posts said, there is not a spawn kill anywhere on that beach (Previous posts stated that killing the skellys on the underwater boat would spawn her, tried, failed!!! Also stated to kill Place Holder, killed 3 times, no spawn.) We cleared that beach 5 times or more and no Spirit. They may have changed her spawn timer. I remember reading somewhere in previous posts that she spawns early in the AM, game time. Well, when she finally spawned for me, it was exactly 6 PM game time. So, not sure about that one.

(I remember last week, I was soloing here using my "dusty" undead spells, [got great XP]and I seen the spirit many, many times and noticed that she con'ed indifferent to me, so I left her alone, but she was there EVERY TIME I was...)

I was getting really frustrated, so I decided to camp. But before I camped, I wanted to sell all the useless loot that I had accumilated and went to the vendors inside the light house. I sold the loot, and went back to the spot where I was going to camp, and BAM, there she was...(LOCATION IS -840, -675) I handed her the emblem and there was my spell, on my cursor... I was soooo excited!!! Perfect end to a long night..

so eassy

Feb 2004 I posted this and am doing the quest again with a new toon. <Grin>
I completed this today, I HIGHLY recommend this quest to any 39+ Cleric, very easy. I had the help of a 61 wizard (thnx Pickame!) and 65 cleric, but you could do this with any balanced 40s group. (Note everyone in group irregardless of level gets xp and AWESOME LOOT)

Someone went before me and provided most of the info, I prefer more detailed directions so I have included the following:

1. PREPARATION - This requires the LoY expansion. Get your Buffs, SoE or SOW + Levitate at minimum. While putting your group together either get a wizard or druid or pay for PORT and/or TL via either Wizard of Druid to STONE BRUNT (both port to same location)

2. Port in is safe, FACE EAST run along coast and down to dock, run to double doors on boat and CLICK on them to zone into Gunthak.

3. Once you zone into Gunthak you should be able to see the lighthouse straight in front of you.[This is a neutral zone, you can sell to vendors or buy food and water inside lighthouse, there is a bank here as well & this is where you buy the drogs.]

You should still be on boat, with fresh levitate and SOW, FACE SOUTH now run due south across the water. If you do this from the door of the boat you may hit the black rock cliffs. Stear a little left just enough to clear the rock.

When you get close to Gunthak beach INVIS your group. [note: remind your group to clear all forage buttons and combat buttons activated by directional arrows, yeah we had someone disable his invis by forgetting] Stick to right side of zone, ship wreck wall is on right HUG THE WALL if your invis fails KEEP RUNNING DO NOT STOP you are going to end up bringing a train of about (no kidding) 40-60 mobs to the dulak zone. This is not a big issue but be courteous and shout the warning.

AS you hug the right side of zone continue to head SOUTH until you see the cave entrance, always, always stick to all right veins in the cave. Just keep running you will see a bunch of mobs just keep going stick to the right the cave opens up for a minute and you continue to run SOUTH thru the ogre town. You will see a Canyon guarded by two ogres on either side of Canyon. Keep heading SOUTH. You will zone into dulak.

4. Once you zone into DULAK, if no one has trained it from the other side, it should be clear and safe just inside. Wait for all members to zone. The canyon is lined with DE Scouts the pathing is great, they run from their post to the middle of the canyon and then at you. Now you have two options, I went back after getting the spell and used both methods. Refresh your invis and run absolutely straight ahead to docks straight ahead of you. (NOTE: some of the Ogres see invis) when you get to the docks there are wharf rats, they conned indifferent to me, yes after dropping invis, they give xp but after all the time spent there they did not drop ANY loot at all, so my rec...avoid them. Crewman, guards and engineers on docks are all fair game. At level 43 the majority conned dark blue to me with a few yellows. They conned blue to the 61 wizard too. The crewman ON BOATS dropped "A DarkWater Emblem" in 15-20 minutes on three different ships. You can always do a shout out and ask anyone in zone to send a tell if they get/see one. They can not be sold nor used on any other quest.

5. Once you get "A Deepwater Emblem" take it and your group back to gunthak. Go back by the lighthouse you will see an ERUDITE PALLADIN named Millius Darkwater.

Now is where I skip the bull, you can read the story if you like but this is the min. required:

YOU: HAIL MILLIUS DARKWATER
npc: whatever...

YOU: WHAT PLACE?
npc: whatever...

YOU: WHAT KNIGHTS?
npc: whatever...

YOU: GIVE "A DEEPWATER EMBLEM"
npc: gives you "ALINA'S EMBLEM"
(note: lookes exactly like "a deepwater emblem")

6. Go down to the boat by lighthouse, INVIS GROUP, head DUE SOUTH back to Gunthak Beach. This time when you get to the beach, look for "a FEMALE ERUDITE SPIRIT" (note: male spirit is for Pally quest) you could give her the emblem and RECEIVE your temp spell and be done just like that (no fighting). "IF" the female spirit is not there start killing everything on the beach area, all the way back to the rock wall. The wizard swarm kited. The mobs on the beach are mostly DEAD skellys, dead ogres and trolls, some scorpions and dead mosquitos, etc could be a place holder for the spirits. If the male spirit pops, KILL IT, good xp, no loot and no faction hit.

NOTE: I found the female spirit @ -1100, -1010. But if you read the whole thread you can see the spirit could pop anywhere on the beach.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I do NOT know how you get back up to the boat to get back if you do not have levitate, so make sure you FLY!!! Hope this helps.

Actually, the pathing in the canyon is some of the worst in the game. Several of the pirates will run back and forth across the mountain pass multiple times, before running towards you, aggroing anything that may be opposite them, and any wanderer who may pass at that time.

Blessing of Temperance is the spell that you get with ldon points and it is the group version of Temperance and you can not cast the group version till 45. You cannot get single cast lvl 40 castable Temp from an ldon. And no a pally cannot cast it.
RE: Temp Is Pally Gotten Now.
# Apr 19 2006 at 11:51 AM Rating: Decent
Yes, a pally can cast it although it is called austerity not temperence...You need 410 tak points from N.ro ldon to purchase as a pally...it adds same ac and hp gain as temperence, one difference is it can only be cast on lv 46 and higher toons

I know about Austism and Guidance and all that but I'm telling you a 62 pally casted "TEMP" on me said she got it in an Ldon for 600 Ldon Points. (WHICH IM NOT DOING) cause Austism is about 400 Ldon Points and the same hp/ac as temp. (ONLY REASON ID DO IT) for more pp buffing HEHE cast Brells AND temp on a newb.

RE: Temp Is Pally Gotten Now.
# Dec 27 2005 at 7:24 PM Rating: Default
Nope how else would i know this was a 62 Paladin, unless of course i had a lvl 62 in the group but anyways she wasn't anonymous she was a 62 Paladin 2 Boxing a 66 Druid that was our healer so there was no cleric, another way i know so is we were the only ones in the zone it was so late. I also scrolled up and saw Temp and asked how did I get Temp. She said she had gotten it in Ldons for over 600 Ldon pts you wanna try to get it up to you but if your not gonna get it just admit it's there.

OH BTW Joev this is Allakhazam and they must not have updated it yet like they don't normally do, also Lucy is how they get their information on Spells and I Don't See 95% of DoD Things in Lucy meaning they Don't Update Every Min of Every Day like they say. (Pls Link these Pally Sites.)

I have to agree with joev on this one. After reading all the posts it is clear that you just couldn't deal with the fact that you were wrong. I thought that once the level cap was raised to 70 that they would give pallys temp based on the lower level cleric buffs they get but that didnt happen. What I see from this is an arrogant little kid that even though he knows he's wrong he is just too immature to admit it and then there is joev who is like me and cannot let misinformation like this go on so other get confused as well.

Why am i responding to this? Im at work, incredibly bored and felt that joev needed a little backup.

Ok, Emightis for the record I cant stand when people use words they dont understand, so...

Dictionary please...

Ignorant - 1. lacking knoledge 3. unaware, uninformed

How are you, as the true ignorant person going to tell an informed person that he is what you are. Clearly that indicates your ignorance toward your own language, let alone EQ lore.

AHhh, let us talk about spell messages!

Cast Kei and you get the message that your mind expands beyond space and time. That is not the name of the spell. Are you going to go around asking someone to cast MIND BEYOND SPACE AND TIME on you. The spell effect message is not really relevant to the actual spell. After all your mind doesn't really expand beyond space, if it did everybodys minds would be all expanded and nobody could move because of all the expanded minds clogging up all the space and everybody would be late because there minds would have expanded beyond time and there bodies would be stuck in regular time...We are all going to die, even with temp, and spells that aren't temp even if they sound like they are...BE QUIET YOU!

Temp Quest Directions

Took me 2 hours or so to get this spell, Others may have had better luck. Any who it starts in Dulak Harbor. ( USE INVISE OR DIE ) if it drops keep running. Once inside Dulak, Go to either boats 1 - 5 ( as there are 5 of them ) Kill any random mob on the dock cause thats where i see them drop more often then not. but they can be found on the boats as well, NOTE* boats 1 and 2 are the best place to find it. Located to the right of zone once you get in. Loot the Darkwater Emblem ( silver ring ) when it drops. then zone out and go back to Gunthak Light House, locate Millius Darkwater ( hints the last name ). Hand him the ring **AFTER YOU HAIL HIM ** he then gives you Alinas Emblem ( looks the same as the other ring ) now this is the fun part Kill the Skeletons located in the boats under waterthere are 3 boats. so about 8-10 skellies or so. kill them, then go to beach on Left side. Kill the other skellies Keep your eyes open for Mokon Brokenskull, although i doubt you need to kill him, He appears to be a named. *drops a charm and Loyalty to nadox ear ring* If you continue west there will be a Rock at the end of the cave and some what beside a ship, a rare Erudite spirit will pop there, i guess kill him, and continue just killing skellies, at Loc -833 -723 you will see a Erudite Spirit ( female) Give her the ring and you will get temp spell. NOTICE if you see a Male spirit its for the Pally Temp (( i think )) but its for pally i know that much. Yeah its a ghost BTW and it will not scowl at you , atleast the Female one wont that i know of, So its safe to walk up to. TOTAL TIME to get spell, less then 2 hours. if you can solo it. other wise get a group , great exp at low lvls like 30-48ish !!

#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 23 2004 at 5:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Donations are generaly an undetermined, ungarnered amount you freely give to someone. Give what you wish, if the cleric/ench/shaman ask for donations and complain about getting 10pp for casting a little mana, *****'um. If you see one of these mana whores announcing that theyre casting their buffs for a minimum donation of...10pp for example, firmly remind them that that isnt a donation...its a frigin FEE.

temp quest
# Apr 14 2004 at 1:23 PM Rating: Decent
Did this quest last night in a couple hours.

I entered the harbor and started /ooc that I was looking to loot the emblem. I proceeded to kill my first crew member and got a tell from someone on the other side of the zone that it had just dropped. I finished my kill and got another tell that another had dropped elsewhere. This took no time at all, obviously.

ok, on the beach I attacked the place holder, the skelly that pops where the spirit pops. I only attacked this guy. His respawn time was more like 20min, not the 15min that had been previously posted. After killing him 3 times, the 4th pop was the female.

Just my advice, dont waste your time killing everything on the beach. camp the spawn point until she pops, its just easier.

My cle 41 was hunting in the Gunthak tunnel leading to dulak and the fort when the grp attacked a mob. I was very lucky as this mob had the amulet i needed. We fought back to the beach as the grp was disbanding. A friend helped me finish the quest. Total time involved maybe 5 minutes. Now just need 2.5 lvls to use it. In the 2 days i been on that beach the spirit has been up far more then down. This is on Fennin Ro.

temp quest

I did this quest 2 days ago on Morrell Thurle, The female spirit is just where reported, on the east side of the beach, 1/2 way up. -840, -645. The male spirit pops farther up at -1100, -1010. I got the emblem easily by invising, and running to the dock, then calling ooc for the emblem. The ships were all camped. 2 dropped within 10 min. I healed as a thank you, then ran back. This is a very bad area to break invis. I had bought invis potions at the dealer in the lighthouse, where the drogs are. 1 time I got thru the caves, the next time it wore off after 10 sec. Only 1/2 way thru. Needless to say I died, and it was not pretty to get the body back. This also happened to 2 others, the potion wearing off fast. The ph is right where reported, and does spawn on a 20 min schedule, but I had a lot of problems getting the female spirit to pop. (does not say female spirit, just "an erudite spirit") The male poped several times, but it took 5 hours of killing the ph, and everything else as we were bored, before she poped. Then she stayed up, a hour later she was still there. Another cleric I know went back the next day, and she popped after 3x of killing the ph, but he had a ranger and tracked every savage skeleton on the beach, and killed them. My spirit popped finially after I had a 58 necro come and help, and he killed everything on the beach, several times. I don't know if it makes a difference, but 5 hours is a long time to sit and kill the ph waiting for the right spirit. Thank you for all of the info, it helped me a lot to know what I was up against, and gl to all of you going for this.

i am a fairly new player whose main will hopefully reach lvl 44 in the next few days. I have read many things in reference to the temp quest but none are specific. It would be most appreciated if someone could explain which beach i need to go to to get the "emblem?" and then which beach, if it is not the same, do i need to go to in order to locate the female spirit. The more detail the better...thank you

I went with a Cleric friend to help get the spell Temeperance which is a quest. We ported to Stonebrunt, ran the shoreline and zoned in through the boat. Headed to the lighthouse and got the quest. Having a Druid was nice, port, levitate, invis and sow. We headed to the beach moved along the wall and into the tunnel that takes you to Dulak. Some great plat and good loot along the way but getting into Dulak was a bit tedious, only cause we fought our way through for the experience. We headed to the docks and began to kill the trolls got to the third one before the first boat and bingo the emblem drops. So we just retraced out steps back to the lighthouse and got the second hald of the quest. Well we started out killing skellies like many say....but after a while we gated and gave up. After reading further on this quest tonight we headed back to the beach and set up camp next to the boat. The skellie was killed 3 X, with a 20 minute spawn. The last spawn was the spirit. Don't bother with underwater things, killing everything in site. Just kill the place holder three times. Now one thing did occur that may or may not of mattered. After the third skellie kill I began to get bored so started roaming on the exact opposite of the boat was a cast away guy that had never been there before. I pulled him around to the spirit side and we killed him for kicks and giggles. The moment he died she spawned but that well could of been total conicidence. I just know the three skellies and the loc. is right. Save yourself a lot of time...Dulak will take lots longer than the part on the beach.

Good luck!
