PB means point-blank yes ie like a bad case of body-oder . . . it eminates from you you target a mob that is beating on you and cast it. If you try to cast it on a mob beating on yer tank and your tank is more than say two steps away . . . no go - dead spell / used up mana.

anyone that does tradeskills knows how hard it is to farm items to get for tradeskills. with this spell it makes it a lot easier. u can round up 10 to 40 mobs, depending on the level of mobs, cast this spell and bam, lots of dead mobs. i use upheaval now alot for farming tradeskill items. works very well for mobs under 40 that can be killed or almost killed with one cast. thorns usually take care of the rest. also works well for faction fixing on low level mobs.
i would say slumming for cash in zones you can round up a bunch cast and kill fast./sigh,most people seem so smart,also i know in my guild say in AR,or the deep,we do total AE the whole time get 20 things,chnters ae stun and the rest who have ae damage spells ae kills fast....Raaaaid!!

3. Cast this baby,
4. Re mez
5. Recast
6. your faction standing <insert faction> got better, etc etc
scenario two
you are PL a alt, park alt in middle, do steps 1 to 3 above, when mobs are suffeciently injured, have them mem blurred, lowbie alt kills all.

Why does it say PB AE on the target type? and what does that mean. I have tried this spell on a single mob and multiple mobs it does nothing for me so far but take a lot of mana. Can anyone clearify this spell for me?
Target AE is 4 targets max this PBAE is unlimited asfar as i know but up close great get all your pb ae casters close pull a ton of mobs you need to clear and pb ae the crap out of them till dead if you have anough casters one cast is all you need for 15-20 lvl 50 mobs

OK never mind the PB is point blank. so another words you have to be right on the mob getting the crap beat out of you while you cast this. LOL yea good spell.

You don't have to use it for soloing. I am a smith and do the Hollowshade Moore War alot. I grab a tank friend, he rounds up a huge train of owlbears or sonic wolves, brings them to me and while he is taking hits I cast this spell. Pretty cool to see 20-40 mobs drop at your feet instantly.
More specifically, like other similar spells on this line (Word of Pain, Word of Shadow, et al), it affects all mobs within a specified radius of you. Yes, you're getting the crap beat out of you, but you're nicely tagging the ones around you for 850ish, at the bargain basement price of 650 mana.
One might wonder what a cleric high enough to cast this spell would be doing in a situation where he'd need to be this close to enough mobs to make casting it worth it, but that's just me... :-P
