Good Melee spell but for archery awesomeness

JULY 2014
Nice melee process ( 150 dam). Doesn't work on bow unfortunately.

but... at 65 you have access to 2 different bow damadge process through AA ( Alternate Advancement) - and these hit every time not as a process
Fire Arrows - nasty direct damadge plus two tick dot ( I have three levels of this and hit for 300+ DD and two ticks are 150+ each)
Frost Arrows - similar direct damadge but does stun instead of dot ( Stun is target level dependant - ie with level 3 I can stun stuff I can't with level 1)

Both chew mana big time
Flame arrows take 30 (40?) mana per tick, Frost arrows take 80 per tick. ( I compensate by having some rings and earings made by my Enchanter using Velium, when I had square cut Ruby's put in them they all became + 8 mana regen items - so about +32 mana regen so running Flame arrow doen't drop my mana - just slows recharge) - can get better rings at 65 but still working out how to make Paladium metal bars enchanted LOL.

So if you are up for melee combat have this process for your melee weapons... if your trying to make Legolas from Lord of the Rings look bad at archery then concentrate on AA skills e.g.
Everlasting Quiver, Archery mastery levels 1 - 3, Flame arrow 1-3, Headshot (auto kill up to certain level mainly green con Mob though) - as many levels as possible... and supporting AA skills ( Dot critical ability would be nice for Fire Arrows as well as Critical Hit chance for spells as these do effect Flame and Frost) and this is at level 65.

I noticed, but havent tried, that at about level 70 you can get Flame arrow to a 1200+ DD and about 400 DOT ( 2k dam in 12 seconds or so) from 1 arrow LOL, and can add trickshot which may make each hit into a second hit as well. ( Consumes arrow in AA description but I think Everlasting Quiver fixes that, but not sure).

So this process and the other for Summoned are worth it for Melee but archery go the way above and good luck to you.

The Add Proc link takes you to the Pali spell Ward of Nife

And the add proc on Nife leads to pious might. The add proc on that leads to Quellious' Word of Serenity. :/
Nature's Rebuke
# Feb 11 2004 at 11:29 PM Rating: Default
Hmmm, Nature's Rebuke costs the same mana wise, is one lvl lower, no more difficult to get then Cry of Thunder AND does 20 more dd pts . . . am I missing something?

Well, blah

At first, I thought this spell might be pretty useless. After all, shouldn't rangers be firing arrows, especially after getting EQ (which EVERY ranger should have, FYI)? Well, we obviously DO melee, and because rangers need a high dex naturally for bow dmg, you should be proccing this more often than, say, a SK procs the lifetap buffs.

In short, I have no idea what I'm saying.

This is always how it goes from beginning to end with my posts, I believe :D

I have EQ and AM3 but still find myself meleeing quite often. Two very annoying things that hinder archery skill is 1) mob touching a wall and 2) no clear line of sight (too many melees or casters crowded around). Occasionally you also run into the problem of not being far enough away to use bow.

For these reasons, I find myself meleeing more often than I wish. But, since I do melee, I always keep my proc buffs on since you may as well try to maximize your damage. Who cares about agro, just hit jolt, but hopefully if you have a good tank, your little wimpy proc will not agro.

couldn't agree with you more, and just wanted to say I enjoyed your post :)

Rangers do occasionally find themselves requested as main tank (i was in LDoN a half hour ago doing just that) and at which time it's useful to be able to replace the anti-agro proc of Jolting Blades, with an agro-getting proc such as this.

Also a big help with soloing!

I dont beleive the Ranger proc spells will proc with a bow, though i may be wrong. I have yet to see my rangers proc spells happen with archery damage. Allthough like i said i may be wrong as untill i got my tolans bracer i didnt use my bow much arrows costing so much and all, once i get a lil bit higher so i can dump points into my archery AA ill be doing even better hehe. well enough of my senseless ramblings, be good to eachother and happy hunting.

Remember, hail the fuzzy shammy for free buffs on the stormhammer server, or the ranger. though ranger buffs suck "ACK, ranger buffs".

CryofThunderEffect
Super hard to resist 150 point lightning (that is, magic) DD. No interrupt component (a la Call of Sky or Call of Fire) though.
