I agree with brasshopper, it's not a horribly usefull song on PC's SO i use it in pulling.
If I am in DS I use it because it has a longer range then my other songs (that i have loaded) and if they are buffed..it' removes buffs and it gets awsome agro.
I would suggest against using this in a pull in a cramped space unless your favorite words are
LOADING PLEASE WAIT (lol)
I have taken on a guildie in the arena and used this when his save magic stats were up to 300 and it went off EVERY time.
So a little fuin in the arena or a wide open space as DS , or me it's not bad..anything else, and you will be nekked in GL donating for rez.

I have sung a cancel magic song to myself to get rid of the stonemite acid in Natimbi where I generally hunt without buffs. I used to mem the lower level song to do LDoN's.
We would have monks in the group, and they would half kill themselves on the mobs damage shields.
When we fought someone who had a Damage Shield, say, I would start singing cancel magic, and would keep doing so until I had managed to strip the DS, but people would constantly yell at me. Even when I announced my intention and asked them to hold off dotting and slowing until the DS stopped. People just would not want to bother. I think it took longer because they were not holding off and I was spending pulses killing the detrimental effects.
Takes 3-4 pulses of the low level song to remove stonemite adid. I believe that the acid reduces your regen rate - I have regen 3 and it will not stop me from regenning.
So this song seems to be of limited use. I wish there was a way to go after detrimental magic only, but there seems to not be any such spell for any class.

They wanted to give bards a way to Feign Dead, but, as usual, their ability does not match the ability as executed by any other class, so they gave them "call in sick". Of course, their boss does not believe them.
