In veks will not charm level 63 mobs so level 60 is my guess. Charming a level 58 - 60 in Veks can be fun as these once hasted kill very fast. Have a healing merc with you if you try this or have the Vet reward for the imp pet

This spell is gay and basicly useless.
mob haste

Have charmed and DC'd many-a-pet and i can tell you for a fact both can be hasted, when you charm a pet you get the pet window pop up with no buffs and your free to buff at will, when you DC a pet you get the window and the DC(dominating gaze) icon on buff screen. Aside from the extra dps and time saved hasting a pet.. do it because certain haste//buffs do overide DC icon and help in keeping DC pet attacking them and not you which is always a good thing. It can charm up to level 65 mobs.. But dont expect to use it in LDoN. They seemed to have nerfed charm in there after a certain level. Nothing can be charmed.

Outside the LDoN zones, I have used it, but infrequently since it might only hold 2 seconds after it sticks.

does NOT charm undead mobs under 65 in Noble's Causway
RE: This Spell

It works only on certain mobs in Ldon. The creepers in MM, for one, make good pets although their dps isn't all that.

Has anyone found any GoD mobs which are necro charmable?

The mobs in LDON that are flagged as charmable are always the super high HP non snarable ones.

Mistmoore- mummies
Guk- eyeballs
Ruj- dogs
Takish- boulder guys
Miraguals-- hrmmmm not sure on this one :(

what lvl mob?
# Dec 04 2003 at 4:58 PM Rating: Decent
This may be obvious to some but what is the max lvl undead mob that can be mezzed by this spell?

I believe DC is only good on lvl 46 mobs & below. If Word of Terris is only good on lvl 46 undead mobs & below, can anyone pls explain the difference(besides different resist levels)? and of course the duration w/ DC lasting till zone/FD/D.

Thanks.

The limit - if there is one - is definitely much higher than 46.

I suspect the limit is around 61 or 62 since I have gotten the message "Too high to charm" on dark blue mobs.

Revenants in Veksar are charmable and make rather good pets. They are 50-58.
Nerfed

It HAS been nerfed, along with all classes charms. You take more agro, the charm pet takes 3/4 the exp if it did the majority of the killing ( and when soloing with it, it will), charm breaks earlier...is resisted more often... made this spell go from 50k+ to 15k on my server in one single patch.
Slow is where?
# Jun 02 2003 at 12:49 AM Rating: Decent
I dont see the 1% slow on this spell like on our other charms, so I dont know why you all are fussing about it if this spell is so much better as to not have it.

If you have the guts

Affraid not Zeezel. You can Pet Haste and even enchater or Shaman haste them. I do it all the time in Madiens Eye with Pets. There is a unbelievable differnece between hasting and not in how fast your pet kills things. Charmed Pets are the only way to go in Open Areas.

My Bats and Skeltons, and even sometime Vampires hit in mid 100's 130-170 with Haste Triple to Quading. No other pet comes close. Just Have Screaming Terror memmed to Recharm pet and keep your Mob Snared. Easy as Pie.

The recharming them once it wore off would remove the haste. But if you charm it then haste it, the haste in slot 7 overwrites the slow but not the charm in 1. but the recharm would overwrite the haste again, so you need to rehaste once you recharm.

The original point was that you can't charm and hast a mob because they conflict. But you can charm a mob then haste it without overrideing the charm. Unfortunately when the charm wears off and you re-charm it, it will override the haste. The charmed mob needs re-hasted every time it's re-charmed.

This is 100% incorrect

I have charmed hundreds of thousands of times and when a pet breaks, you never have to re-buff it, unless the timer for the actual buff has expired.

Charm is a detrimental spell, while Haste is a beneficial spell, there is no way that they would or do interfere

You are right about the charming/hasting. But indeed sometimes beneficial spells cancel out detrimental spells and vice versa - whichever was cast last. (snare/SoW comes to mind)
if you have the guts..

.. this spell would be beautiful to use in Plane of Valor. snag ya a solo Undead Vassal. charm, haste, pull trains if vassals and slow them all. let your pet's magic work from there. a 20 minute max duration would be splendid, even if it only lasts 5. thats some serious carnage..

charmed pets can't be hasted..

Description:
1: Charm(1)
7: Decrease Attack Speed by 1%

note slot 7.. any kind of slow entirely negates all haste, 80% haste and 1% slow is 1% slow, not 79% haste

I charmed my way though mid levels and I can most certainly say you can haste charmed pets. Haste you charm, slow your undead target and root your target down. You'll never see something die so fast.

Oh yeah that %1 is there so that when you re-charm an NPC, it wipes his current haste spell off so that you will have to re-haste him.

You are nuts bud. You can most certainly haste charmed pets. I do it ALL the time with Rune of Death off my PoP pants. They do some awesome dmg when they are hasted. Only thing is better watch out when they break charm on you. You think they were bad before when they were hitting you, now they will rip you a new one just trying to get him back under control.

Cast Rune of Death on the charmed pet, it's nice to haste your pet and slow the opposing undead mob =-p
