This spell doesn't actually seem to do what is claimed, if anything at all. I can chain-cast it on a boss mob with pet on it, and I -still- get agro over the tank. If it's really reducing 500 agro per pop, I should be the very last on the threat list. Yet, I'm consistently the highest.

I'm not even sure it works for just regular spells for that matter. Has anyone actually PROVEN this spell to do anything?

Do you play on a progression server? Did the boss mob have the mitigation of the mighty buff?

Found that after tashing and slowing mobs I can cast Boogle on the mob and reduce the hate enough to sit right down new the mob and med up MANA.

Nice

You know, I'd suspect the above person of being a Wizard trolling the Enchanter spell forums...but even a Wizard should know how this works, considering they have their own line of Jolt spells. Guess it's just another case of the prick calling the *****...errr...nevermind.

For the edification of Monsieur Tranzwarrp: This spell reduces aggro for the person casting it only; to do so, it must be cast on the mob you want to Hate you less than it currently does.

You cannot cast this on a PC (unless on a PvP server, and then it does nothing; the person behind the keyboard's still going to hate you as much afterwards as he did before).

A mob can have 1000 people beating on it, doesn't matter. When you cast this on the mob, the only person receiving a Hate reduction is YOU, the caster.

At one time, this spell was very valuable in saving the lives of Enchanters. With the advent of the Spell Casting Subtlety and Sleight of Hand aggro reduction AAs, it's not quite as necessary as it used to be. I find it much simpler to just use Memory Flux (with Enhanced Forgetfulness AA maxxed).

Now, granted, this will wipe the aggro list completely...but the only time you should be getting aggro is when just about everyone else is dead already. Might as well wipe the Hate list, remove yourself from consideration, and park in a quiet corner and hope it doesn't notice you after it's done wiping the rest of the raid. lol

Not having used this spell in some time, I cannot confirm for a fact that it's still working as intended (as I outlined above); it may very well have been broken, and is somehow generating an aggro increase, instead. Whenever I've used it in the past, I have never pulled aggro from the Cleric, let alone the MT, even when Boggle was resisted. I will try this spell out again over the weekend, and report back the results.

/sarcasm ON
If it is somehow broken...God alone knows if/when it'll be fixed. We all know how SOE regards Enchanters as their #1 priority.
/sarcasm OFF
Is this spell bugged?

I got this spell for my 'chanter recently and every time I've used it, the mob immediately switches from pounding on the tank to pounding on me. Not just a one time phenomenon, but consistent over several casts in several zones. Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway) I've quit using it at all.
i never leave home with out it

I don't really have this spell memmed too much, I find its use it less needed than is worth a spell gem. However, I can see how it is a good spell and find it a VERY useful pull tool. Between the casting time and the low amount of agro it would initially generate, makes for a very good pull tool.

Decreases Hate on a targetted mob in much the same way as the Ranger JOLT spell. This works much better than a memblur spell because it only affects YOUR aggro and not the aggro of your tank or other members of the group. This means if you get aggro in the middle of the fight, you can cast BOGGLE and (in theory) the mob will go back to the tank since his/her aggro will be unaffected.

I think this spell will come in handy. Puller gets an add, mezz the add, debuff the tank's mob, then Chanter is bored waiting for mob to die. So, tash and debuff the mezzed mob, then BOGGLE it, so the tank can get aggro by breaking mezz. Sounds like a plan to me. I'll let you know how it works.
Question about Hate.
# Jun 26 2004 at 11:28 PM Rating: Decent
Can hate drop into the negative by casting this spell on a mob before doing anything else? Or is it a positive number only?

Just got this spell and played around a little. I rooted a fire beetle and cast this a few times.

From what I can tell, it can not wipe aggro like a mem blur. Just lower it to around +1 hate. The fire beetle still wanted me dead.

it lowers aggro, enchanters ONLY, and must be cast on the mob the ENC intends to lower his/her aggro from.
Question
# Aug 29 2003 at 8:19 PM Rating: Decent
Does this decrease the hate to the caster only? (ie: the enchanter) or does it decrease all it's hate?
RE: Question
# Feb 17 2006 at 12:31 PM Rating: Decent
Caster's hate only.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 25 2003 at 7:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It's an aggro debufff -- you target someone and cast it on them, reducing their aggro by 500 so, if you want to lower your aggro, cast it on yourself.

This is a dtereminal spell. Casting it on yourself will only drain your mana and make YOU stop hating the mob. Or would it make you stop hating yourself? /boggle
