This spell has very limited usefulness.

-First of all this spell is self-only. If you want to "deagro Clerics or Casters" take a look at Glamorous Vissage.
-Second, this spell is an Agro Modifier meaning you need to cast it on yourself before other spells. If you want to decrease your agro after the fact look at Boggle.
-Third look at the duration and recast time. The spell only lasts 24 sec, but takes 5 minutes to refresh.

So when would a chanter actually use this spell? During a raid right before some big pull requiring a lot of Crowd Control. Emperor Ssareeza comes to mind, right before you start mezzing 4 of the 8 golemns. The only other time I actually use this spell is while AE Stunning during a raid.

I usually find it more useful to mem boggle and cast it after I get agro, than to anticipate when I am going to get beat down and deagro myself just before then.

I was wondering.. is there a hard cap on agro reduction, or does anyone know? As I understand it, focus effects are additive, so in theory the "reduce spell hate by 40%" on the sharp-ended broken lever would give you a chance for -90% hate? That's pretty darn powerful.

You cast this on a mob that has a faction like guards and it improves your faction, I can usualy go from threateningly to dubious. You can also use it to get a merchant who is dubious to sell to you or depending on faction give you better prices.

oops wrong spell line, you cast this on one of your groups casters, cleric, yourself just before a fight and they wont agro the mob as much making it easier for the tanks to hold agro.

Actually, it is a self target spell, 4 tics... I use when a mob is pounding on me and a tank is trying to get it off, cast- pray for channeling to work and watch tank gain agro. It works pretty good... when it doesn't
