ehm, complete heal = level 39 spell. ER2 works with it. Clerics.. have one of these in your bag, I don't care how much you have to pay for it. But when you're in a complete heal rotation, and you have a mob casting an AE -300HP DoT, you sure as hell don't want to get hit with it. cheal range = 100, most ae's are 60 ish. cheal range + er2 = 115. all raiding clerics need an extended range item, ALL. moonstone ring is damn cheap too 8) just my 2cp for my clerics out there that are tired of having to RGC themselves on raid encounters

For clerics that want cheap extended range for raids, there is a bracer that drops in Karnors with ER3, and is common as heck and an easy kill, around the hand room area. have seen several rot. I keep one in my bag, specifically for CH on mobs with AOE spells, so Ican stay out of range.

Range
# Jan 21 2004 at 3:26 PM Rating: Decent
From what I have seen, Extended Range items only activate when needed.
So, if you are at a distance within the spell's normal range, you won't see any messages from the ER item. But if you are a little bit outside the normal range, you'll still be able to cast and you will see the message "Your Moonstone Ring pulses with light as your vision sharpens."

I'm not sure about what Roblex mentioned. My only guess is that he was outside the normal range to cast his DS, so the ring triggered, but mammoths have a pretty long reach, so he was still getting hit.

It *is* a bit strange. I bought a moonstone ring today for my level 18 mage and could not be 100% sure it gave me anything extra. The only time I saw a message about the ring doing something was when I was in Melee range which does not seem right at all. The log extract below shows me being hit so you can see I am close to the target and am not using any dd spells. The only spell I cast is a shield of fire on my earth pet.

[Thu Dec 04 06:25:27 2003] A wooly mammoth calf gores YOU for 1 point of damage.
[Thu Dec 04 06:25:29 2003] Zobab begins to cast a spell.
[Thu Dec 04 06:25:31 2003] Zobab tries to bash a wooly mammoth calf, but misses!
[Thu Dec 04 06:25:37 2003] Zobab begins to cast a spell.
[Thu Dec 04 06:25:43 2003] Taunting attacker, Master.
[Thu Dec 04 06:25:44 2003] Zobab begins to cast a spell.
[Thu Dec 04 06:25:45 2003] Zobab tries to bash a wooly mammoth calf, but misses!
[Thu Dec 04 06:25:47 2003] Your Moonstone Ring pulses with light as your vision sharpens.
[Thu Dec 04 06:25:47 2003] You begin casting Shield of Fire.
[Thu Dec 04 06:25:49 2003] Zobab is enveloped by flame.
[Thu Dec 04 06:25:49 2003] Your Bear-hide Boots sparkles.
Nope, Nope, & Nope

If the effect is I, then it will only cover spell levels 1-21. II spell levels 22-44, and III spell levels 45+

If you have an item with Extended Range I, it will only cover spell levels 1-21. So if you plan on casting spells that fall into both categories then you will need Extended Range I & II.

That is spell levels, and not character levels.

Hope this helps

Focus II effects work on spells from lvl 1 to 44. Focus III effects work from spells lvl 1 to 60, and focus IV effects work from spells lvl 1-65.

You do NOT need a focus I item to affect spells level 1-20 if you have a higher level focus item.
Questions...
# Mar 21 2003 at 9:37 PM Rating: Excellent
Ok, silly newbie question... Do these effects stack? If I have 2 moonstone rings would my range be extended 30%? Also, if you get the 2nd installment of an effect, does it include the first installment? Example- If I have Extended Range II, would I still need an item with Extended Range I? Another way to say this is, Does Extended Range II(or any of the effects that have multiple levels) cover spells 1-44, or 21-44?
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 14 2002 at 11:33 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) While I don't have the Staff of Elemental Mastery: Fire, yet, even when I do I will take my focus 49 fire pet, fully armored and buffed, over this wuss. As a solo tank, he is worthless, and even when he is allowed to cast, the damage he doles out seems rather lame. Give your 49 fire a couple summoned daggers with Burnout, sit back, and collect the loot.

What the heck are you talking about? What pet? Are you posting on the right item?

Also Group Buff

This is also a group buff for the same amounts. The STA alone results in a good chunk of HPs.

Shimmering Terrorhide Boots also have this effect. I notice it taking effect all the time, on things like snare and my DOTs. I love these boots.
Long range
# Sep 14 2002 at 4:20 PM Rating: Decent
I have noticed that with my mage it only works with my bolt spells and not my evocation spells like shock of blades. Maybe it only works with long range, line of site spells. *shrug*
does this work at all?
# Sep 13 2002 at 11:43 AM Rating: Decent
I have 2 moonstone rings as well and I don't notice anything. You wouldn't beleive how close I have to get to mobs just to cast tash on them!
lol

double?
# Jun 07 2002 at 8:12 AM Rating: Default
So if I wear two moonstone rings, will I get 30% range increase?
RE: double?

QUOTE:
When casting a spell, you get the benefit of the best focus item of a given type. If you cast a DoT spell and were wearing a Mana Preservation item (-10% mana cost) and an Affliction Efficency item (-25% mana cost), you would use the Affliction Efficiency item bonus.

If you had on the same gear and you cast a direct damage spell, it would use the Mana Preservation item bonus instead, since Affliction Efficiency only works with DoTs.

Focus effects of different types will work together however. If you have on a mana saving item, a spell haste item, and a duration extending item, all three of these can work on the same spell. It's only items of the same focus type that don't stack.

group heal
# Jun 06 2002 at 1:37 PM Rating: Default
This is a group heal but it does not heal 220 it only does 198
group
# Jun 04 2002 at 10:45 AM Rating: Default
Group buff. If they're in the target's group, and within range 100, they get the benefit.
Spells it casts
# Apr 04 2002 at 9:54 PM Rating: Default
Near as I can tell it casts the following:

O'Keils Embers
Leatherskin
Shock of Lightning (83dmg)
Flame Shock (110dmg)
Force Shock (179dmg)

It casts Leatherskin on itself after every fight, and O'Keils Embers whenever it wears off. During fights it casts Force Shock fairly frequently and the other two slightly less frequently. I can't be sure that it is Shock of Lightning and Flame Shock for sure, but the damage messages match and I sure as hell don't notice the mob's HP going down by much. Max hit for the pet (that I've seen) is 32dmg summoned with Staff of Elemental Mastery: Fire. That compared to max hit of 58dmg for Vocerate: Earth (w/o focus staff) and 54 for lvl 49 Fire pet (w/focus staff).
AOE???
# Mar 08 2002 at 9:44 PM Rating: Default
Is this AOE or group. I am just confused by wording...
RE: AOE???
# Apr 12 2002 at 4:15 PM Rating: Default
hmm i dont have this yet as im only a few blues shy of lvl 54... but in spell info above it does say "ae range= 100" which leads me to believe is an ae group healing spell. as in yer group within range 100 can be cast on 8)
