This is a spell you can use to practice your Conjuration skill... particularly if you don't have a lower level spell with which to practice.
This is true. But you will need to destroy the Halo each time. At first I thought you'd get the skillup even if you get the error message "Duplicate Lore items are not allowed". It seems like I got one or two skillups that way. But after about another 100 casts I got NO skillups so I think at some point the server does a check and won't allow you skillups as long as you are attempting to create a Lore item which you already possess.

I know this is an old post, but I was just toying with this today and had no problems getting almost 50 points of conjuration skill up with it without deleting the halo itself. It's a fine way to practice conjuration.

This is really just a light source? I'm considering getting this spell for my lvl 22 pali...he doesn't have another light source that I know of, and has no problem seeing. what's the point?

Some races don't see in the dark very well, such as humans and barbarians.

Poor Paladins at lvl 22 lets be honest. If your a paladin and don't have a light source by now your in trouble. Even still, you could with ease find a light source that would go in a better spot and save yourself AC, stats, and mana.
I look at this more as an emergency light source for a CR. And also looking it that way it's like your an angel w/ a halo.
