surely the decrease is wrong?

The reduction is only 25-35? When the lower level spell Malosi knocks off 60?
What am I missing?

Malosi knocks off 60, but is resistable.

Mala is unresistable, so is Malo (also lvl 60), which only reduces resists by 45.
Can be turned in for better spell.

This spell might not be that great but it can be turned in for Upheaval, Egress, Call of Karana, or Glamour of Tunare, in the Fironia Vie Spell Quest. Please post who drops it. I would like to try for Upheaval and Egress.
Thanks. Drelfan Draegonquest.

I believe they check for the presence of the reagent before the saving throw... ie, you must have a reagent ready to be used, and then if you're lucky it won't be. I just summoned a corpse today and realized a bit later the coffin was still in my inventory, and that my Savant Cap had glowed during the summon :-) So it does work for the level 39 necro summon corpse, which I find surprising considering the description above mentions a "no summon spells" restriction. I'm not complaining, hehe.

Unloved, 55 necro (Rathe)

The restriction on "Summoning" refers to the fact that this will NOT work on spells of the "enchant" variety ... enchant silver, gold, platinum, velium, thicken mana, imbue gems, etc. This effect is designed to occasionally make buffs and the like component-free, not to give you free tradeskill components.

The summon it does not work on is an item. ie summon food/drink/bandages, etc. these specific ones are for a mage and dont require any components, but i believe that is the summon they are talking about that it will not work with.

So would this work for summoning pets then? For example, would I have a chance to summon my animation without a tiny dagger being used up?
Imbue?

Now wouldn't this be a LOVELY way to make imbued emeralds....?

Does this work?

Nope, this has no effect on converting items... so if your imbuing gems or enchanting materials (clay, jewelry bars, etc.), or making one of the manas (viscous, clear, purified, etc.) it will still use up the components to make the new components. This is because those items aren't components in the sense of being consumed to cast the spell, like when you use up a fish scale to cast enduring breath. Rather, you're turning say, an ordinary emerald into a Tunare-imbued emerald. You need the emerald to imbue, because you can't imbue thin air, but you're not actually consuming the emrald in the spell, you're just changing the emerald into something else.
Does This Include

The Clarify Mana line?
This means. . .

Hey say you are an Encahter and want to cast rune 3 and you have no Jaspers (component for this spell equals 1 Jasper) well just keep attemping to cast it until your cap begins to glow whatever and you'll get it casted :)

Does this spell work?

I don't see any increase in speed over SOW.
RE: Does this spell work?
# Aug 14 2002 at 2:02 PM Rating: Decent
Did a point A to point B run with sow vs. sos.
SoW: 17sec
SoS: 14sec

Though technically faster its not really much of a noticable difference when running. Combined with the fact if some mob happens to smack you, you lose speed altogether and the whole group has to stop, makes this spell fairly useless imhop.

It also breaks when you cast a spell if I am not mistaking, so if any casters are thinking of finally quadding the othmir with added ease, its not going to happen this way. *I wish*

Group buff spell and yes it does increase speed over Sow until you break into combat.
