Don't forget to make one for your pet, it's an extra 5ac, 10hp, 10 mana and fits in the neck slot which is not covered by phantom armour.

Here's the scoop:
This spell summons a necklace which when worn gives a 10% chance to not use a component when casting component based spells. This does not effect enchantment of metal spells.
This applies to spells level 49 and lower.

This doesn't seem to apply to any enchantment spells ...not just enchantment of metal spells... meaning it doesn't apply to summon mana spells (viscous, cloudy, clear, purified ...).

That's because they don't use that as a point of power to summon an item. Those spells actually transmute (alter) an item to something else. The gem used in the clarify mana line is liquidized and enfused with mana, the silver is infused with mana itself.
