No corpse left for expedient recovery
# Jan 16 2009 at 7:25 AM Rating: Decent
Just a word of warning, when you use reanimation, there is no corpse left for expedient recovery, unlike shammy or druid call. Bummer, lost about 10% of a level to find that out.

Paladins don't get the best rez spells as Shadow Knights don't get the best pet spells, if they could get them there wouldn't be a need for clerics and necros now would there? Unfortunatly for you.

So all this will do is bring someone back to their corpse? Do they lose exp? Is it better than finding their own way back to corpse and looting it themselves? I dont get it.

This spell is all about speed, convenience and safety.

At low levels the experience you lose per death is minimal. Naked corpse runs can be dangerous (especially for a class without a regular "invisibility" spell). They seem to always take more time than you think they will.

Reanimate your group mate, patch them up and get back to killing. The experience they lost will be regained in no time.
"God created man from a handful of dust, and he created woman from that man's rib. And these two together were so stupid that they weren't on the planet five minutes when they managed to get a curse put on all future generations. Nice work." Pat Condell

Good points about patching up your groupmate to get them back to you quick. The spell is also very usefull for getting someone back to their body when they lose a duel, where they don't lose experience anyway. And if you need to summon someone in a zone that doesn't have CoH, you can do that by dueling, then 0% rezzing them where you need to set up camp.
Never believe anything until it has been officially denied.

problem with dueling deaths is you only get...i want to say 15 minutes to rez. possibly less, maybe even as low as 5.

this is why, for sky runs, we've asked people to just take a death from npcs then get a 96% from a cleric, so you have 3 hour rez window. they die, get a rez back to their corpse (with the XP), the (keyed) necro summons the corpse to the island they are going to, another (keyed) cleric rezzes them again to pull them to their corpse on the upper island (yes, you can do that :p)

What's the point in dragging a corpse to the point I want somebody to rez at? He could have walked there on his own I guess...

Imagine this... group you are going to join is already killing halfway across the zone from zonein with many many KoS/ see invis mobs between you and them. They have a rogue in group and a person capable of casting this rez. The rogue sneak/hide runs to you at ZI and duels you to death then drags your body to the group where you get rezzed. Nice, simple, no XP loss, no training the group.

This may be a rare occurance, but when the "group" you are going to is a guild raid and there are locked doors between you and them as well as dozens of nasty creatures and you happen to be in a zone with no call of the hero capability then it is great that a paladin can cast this on a freshly drug body to spare the clerics the time since hopefully they are busy healing people.

I hope that explains the point in dragging a corpse to a 0% rez. I'm glad you asked because you know if you didn't understand there were at least a dozen others that did not but didn't ask. =)

I couldn't find this new line of rez spells in the regular cleric area of Ak'anon, but there is a merchant selling them down in the Tunnels of Torment in the evil cleric area - the merchant is on Dark Reflections faction, so beware! But maybe you can find someone to help you buy it if you are a good gnome ;)

Purchased on 7/26/02 in North Freeport Temple of Marr vendor basement or first floor guy. The same guy had a few of the newer rez type spellz also.
