i think this it totaly stupid there isnt just 2 there is 3 reg avatar primal and then ancient i can see the diffrence of one uses emrald but to have another just to add 20 to the stats it ups??? i think we are being cheeted as shammys. just and 20 to its stats and count it as a diffrent spell just to add to number of spells for that lev????????

why would there be two avatar spells at one lvl?
Its an "Ancient" spell. The idea is that, while the other spells are relatively easy to get, Ancient spells tend to be more demanding to obtain. Anyone who gets the Ancient version will almost certainly use it, and only it, but the other version is out there for those who don't, or can't, go through the trouble.

primal avatar still drops in ST, FYI.

this spell dropped in the sleepers tomb,but no longer drops,same as avatar just no requirement of a emerald

actually, primal avatar was the drop in sleepers, and it always drops. this is just a rare spell of very high-end encounters.
