SoW Potions

What are the SoW Potions called?
NPC Drop
# Feb 03 2005 at 8:52 PM Rating: Decent
I can't remember where, but I saw that the 39 version of SoW was an NPC drop. I'm not sure, and I tend to believe Animekenji's explination because it actually makes sense.
This is the self only version of SoW

This spell is more of an effect (triggered from items) rather than a spell that is cast. It is self only. If you're interested in data about the spell version (from Shaman, Druid, Ranger, Bst), then look here.

At the current time, Allakhazam still lists this spell as being from a scroll (which it is not). There is no scroll that has this version of the spell.

spell says that it increses movement by 34% by (L9) to 55% at (L50). Does that mean any characters (ranger, druid, shaman, etc.)that are L50 cast it at an increased movement of 55%? In other words a level 50 ranger casts this on himself and can run 55% faster?

Yes
DO NOT REFERENCE THIS SPELL
# Nov 19 2003 at 4:06 PM Rating: Good
There seems to be two versions of this spell. This version is still included because there are still items that have this as an effect. There is a different version of SoW, referenced here, which is the version that players get when they scribe a scroll. That scroll is the one that has rangers getting it at Level 30, and also lets beastlords scribe it as well. Somewhere out there, there may still be some copies of the scroll for this spell if someone bought it from a vendor but just never scribed it (or at least that's the only way I can think a scroll like this would still exist). If you wanna read/discuss the latest about the SoW spell, use the other one (with link a few lines up).

Don't Ranger get this spell at 30??

Well if they get another SOW, it should incresase there movement to 55% - 76%.

I think this is the old version of the spell but that it still exists in game just not sold by vendors anymore. It exists still in spell folder within game files and that is the most up to date and accurate spell info you can get if you know how to access it.

SoW at 39

This spell info says at 39 it cost no mana to cast. I am still being charged mana. Is there another spell of SoW I have to find?

Allakhazam's spell database has this spell listed twice. One listing (this one) says it's for druids, rangers, and shamans. The other listing also has beastlords listed as who can use this spell.

I'm guessing this listing is outdated (pre-Luclin), is no longer being maintained properly, and as such, the mana cost value of zero is in error.

The other listing (the one that says beastlord on it) has the mana cost listed at 40.

Yes, they do, but they didn't always. It was changed in a patch. It was at level 39 until someone realized that SoW for Rangers at 39 didn't fit the normal spell acquisition pattern of druids. Druids get this spell at 14 which is the 4th level in which they receive new spells (1,5,9,14). A rangers 4th level of new spells comes at 30 (9,15,22,30) not 39 so giving them SoW at 30 makes more sense.

If anyone from Sony is reading this:

Since shaman receive this spell at 9, which is their 3rd level of new spells, Beastlords should logically get this at 22, not 30.
