So this spell came out with kunark, when sony still had no idea what spells would be useful to paladins. This is basicaly a troll spell like the level 50 flame of light or whatever.

Hmm, I'm trying to figure out why, when I load up this spell, it never fully loads. I can't ever actually cast it. What's up with that?

because it has a 6 minute recast time -- leave it memmed for 6 minutes or more and it will become castable. This is something similar to the refresh time on stuns except much longer.

take into consideration the spell absorbs 1 hole hit if your hit for say 3700 that absorb spell absorbs it all so its good for taking a first hit on certain mobs :-x.

Question:
Say I can this on a caster about to get hit. Will their spell get interrupted whilst this damage is getting eaten away? If it could be used to help casters get a spell (say a succor) off.. could be pretty useful....

to answer ur question, yes u can still be interrupted. also this does not include spell damage such as nukes and dots, ae and well ne thing. it is usefull for incoming on a hard mob though.

This skin could be usefull if you getting ready to go pvp because 150pts of dmg from pk always stay thats sometime you dont have time to heal so thats could save you remenber it and anyways this spell dosnt cost 500mana

Agreed that you wouldn't want this loaded for a battle, because any heal you can cast is going to be more efficiant. But what the heck, if I'm sitting with a KEI running waiting for a mob or my group to be ready I might as well throw this on, med back up to full in a minute and have effectivly a slightly higer Max HP for the fight that is about to ensue.

... if they had given this spell to us at level 9 and cut the mana cost by 4 times.
... if they had given this spell to us at lvl 15 and cut the mana and recast time by half.
... if they had completely nixed this spell and fired the guy who came up with it.

Not only does it have a horrendously long refresh time, it does literally nothing to stop mobs. Mobs in PoP hit for 300+, GREEN mobs (to lvl 55) in LoY hit for 100+. Save yourself some time, money, a slot in your spell book, a spell gem slot and effort... and just use your 150 mana to cast a Greater Healing (heal for, gasp!, 300 pts of dmg) instead.

It sickens me to think that VI actually thinks throwing junk like this at us will help us. Blah.

It does seem rather laughable, doesn't it? Makes one wonder if VI is getting a cut of the profits from vendor sales....

Ok, I can see two possible uses for this spell:

1. PL'ing, which (I believe) VI does not support. Since it lasts only 5 mins/150 dmg and has a recast time of 6 mins though, the "PL'ee" would have to be really low lvl.

2. Casting on your low-AC group members before a battle in which they're likely to get brief aggro. For 150 dmg though, one or two hits from the MOB and it fades.

VI could've at least made this a group buff, or decreased that ridiculous recast time so paladin-turned-backup-healer could chain-cast it on MT to simulate Rune in a pinch. Otherwise, I agree it's junk. No wonder it's not a quest spell...

It's doing as said in the description: It's absorbing 150 damage. Smiley: smile
The first 150 damage the buffed person takes will not take any HPs off. After that the buffs wears off.
