Am I missing something? Why would anyone use this spell? Mana cost and casting time far higher than Draught of Fire for no different effect. Is is just to have a Cold instead of Fire based spell?

The resist check (-300) means it can land on boss mobs regularly that would be extremely resistant, bordering on immune, to ice comet. I hear it, and other lure nukes of course, are about the only damage a wizard can do versus people with great gear in PvP

Resist Cold (-300) to the poor sap who eats this snowball... Reminds me of the pain as my body would start to Splurt because I failed the save magic ( -100 ) every damn time.

Paybacks are a ***** Uncle Fester. Muahahahaha.
