went down to Veksar with my 56 necro. i was using the lvl 49 pet, and his top hit was around 55. eventually he bit the dust and i decided to Levant back to the entrance and try charming. using Thrall of Bones and Augmentation of Death, i charmed the first undead i came across, a Sentry. his top hit was around 120. these mobs are beasts when charmed. sic pet, slow mob, cast BoD, a dot, and root, and sit back while the pet kills the mob in 1 minute or less. this was great until i decided to charm the Duke that hangs around near the water entrance that leads to the tougher undead areas and the golems. his top hit was 194, dual wielding steel hammers. he's marvelous until he breaks charm, at which point, i would feign death, wait to lose aggro, and run down and charm him again. XPs are pretty slow at 56, but with a charmed mob, they speed right up.

Through testing Max lvl that this will charm appears to be 57. This is based on testing in LDoN (may be diff elsewhere) and white cons to different lvls of players.
DB at 58, can be charmed (Thrall with cha of 160)
White at 58 cannot be charmed (Thrall with cha of 160).
Guess you have to wait for Word of Terris (65) for something better.

i was NOT able to charm a Reanimated Berserker in Chardok.
tried one that was con white at 55 and again con dark blue. neither worked.
i was able to charm a Reanimated Champion on Chardok however, they range up to level 52.
Maximum range of this spell is 53.. but possibly only 52

Unannounced that I saw, SoE changed the amounts that vendors give for some spells, and for most of the jewelry crafted items (Velium seems to have been kept as the reference point). Two examples (rounded to plat.)at max. cha./price: Spell; Dictate went from 37p to a 20p value, Platinum Diamond Ring went from 328p to 300p merchant value.

I too cannot find what the max. level of undead is affected by this spell, either here, on Lucy, or EQNecro.
My guess is that these posts attract folks with questions, not answers.
But hey, just in case ---- does anyone know? And can you provide reference sourse ( or personal experience.)

All I can tell you is that in LDoN I used to use it allot, but if I group with the avg level of players that are close to me or higher now, it will NOT charm the mobs. If I group with lower level players like 54-56 then it will charm them, so I must be close to a cuttoff in level with the spell in any of the other dark blue mobs I can hunt. Do the math on the mobs level for that.. avg group level of 55 I can charm mobs, avg group level 57 I cant.
