Some comments claim this pet doesn't take weapons and gear. I just game mine 2
Blade of Walnan, a Visor of Vabtik, and an entire set of Spectral Plate no problem?
Maybe they're giving it No Trade items (which was nerf'd awhile ago for whatever reason)?

with intrcicate conjurer's earring (focus: summoner's boon) equipped this pet's max hits are increased from 57 to 59. need to equip the pet focus item while summoning ghe pet of course.

Well, here it is a year later and this Level 56 pet (Servant of Bones) seems fine. He takes my pet focus spell readily and accepts weapons/gear.
If you choose to use a cleric merc then a pet's resilience/durability is almost a non-issue in the average case, especially with higher end summoned mage gear.
A hard-core kiter might consider some form of Improved Healing aug/gear for those times when a pet heal is necessary. When I kite I still have a cleric merc for buffs, post-battle heals, etc.

This pet is utterly worthless. He has no hit points. He is unable to hold weapons of any kind. He is also unaffected by pet focus. Unless you get this guy for free, keep using the rogue pet until 59. What a waste.
While it's true this pet can't use any weapons, it can be focused but only by the Encyclopedia Necrotheurgia, just like the 53 rogue and level 48 pet.
This spell also drops from a Guardian Wurm, in Skyfire Mountains. Got it today as well as the Beastlord spell Spiritual Strength from the same Wurm.

I need help with a matter I'm having with pet toys. I have been using this pet for some time now, and all off a sudden he will not take pet toys. Just to be sure it was not my UI, I spawned 53 - Minion of Shadows and 48 - Invoke Death pet and gave them toys no problem. At least the swords appear. But when I try to give toys to the 56 - Servant of Bones pet nothing appears. Thinking it may be a graphics issue, I watched the melee spam and never saw a proc or any substantial hits to indicate he had swords. Also noticed his HPs going down faster which leads me to think the armor didnt take as well. Am I bugged or what? GMs don't seem to have an answer for me on this one. =(
ah this is a monk pet so the only weapons it should take are the fist ones that are lvl 61 mage summon i think.

Also see this thread on the EQ forums. Jebasiz, the necro CC, has passed this on to the dev team a few weeks ago. Seems this is a known issue but has not been fixed yet. Any other class has an issue and there is an emergency fix but when this bugged happened there has been no reaction. Granted, this is not "game ending", but when this is now a good level to stop for AAs it can be a real PITA. Guess we are forced to level up to 59 if we want to work on AAs or use the lower level Rogue pet.

Well I finally got a GM to meet me online to see if we could resolve this pet toys issue. She created a character of similar class, race and level and spawned a Servant of Bones pet. Guess what? It would not take the pet toys. Next she spawned a Minion of Shadows and Invoke Death pet and both of them took the toys. Result: GM sent a bug report to QA and told me to be patient in waiting for a fix and monitor the update page. So I guess my other pets will have to do for a while. She did give me cookies and milk with a smile before logging. =)

this spell is really cheap on my server. I got mine long time ago for 50p i think.
This is the upgrade you want. dont use lvl49 over this guy like you can with lvl53. this pet is much higher lvl then lvl49pet, so he doesn't get hit as much, lands more hits himself, and jump kicks up to 71. backstap is more, but if your pet is tanking he can't backstap. this guy can jump kick straight on, or every time, because he doesnt have to behind mob, so he'll out dmg rogue pet. He has more hp then rogue pet, but still less then lvl 59 pet. like rogue, hes pretty easy to keep healed with his low hp, but he doesnt get hit as much as other 2 against non plane mobs. Went to dulak with this guy, and mobs miss him alot, when I had rogue he got tore up fast.

Anyone know about how much this cost in bazaar(i havnt seen it for sale yet)because i dont feel like hunting for it. Im on Brell but any price range will do
Reason a 49 pet can take down this one is becuase its got about X3 more hit points,but the diffrence is this pets higher lvl hits more offten on higher end mobs and better over all damage out put.this pets still good :)

at the end of a ldon the other day me and my necro friend who was also in the grp decided to duel our pets. he used the lv 56 monk pet and i used my lv 49 warrior pet. neither pet was buffed with n e thing other than aug death. to my surprise, my lv 49 pet killed his, barely. dunno if maybe my pet just got lucky or what :P

hmmm... depends did he use the 55 pet haste and u use the 34 (or 39 i cant remember) pet haste? that would be a huge impact as the haste difference is 22% more haste for the lvl 55 one.
ok think about what you posted..... now edit appropriately. (obviously he didnt use the higher pet haste and even if he did he said that his lower level pet won... if he had used it that would have been a better advantage to the higher pet... but seeing as how the lower pet won it makes no sense what you posted... i think youre confused.

I have been trying to research this spell according to the Memoir from LoY and also various websites. Everything that I try comes back "Cannot combines these items in this container type!" Any help out there?

i was i SolB exping one day and a couple of friends came and decided to have some fun one was a 61necro and the other was a 52warrior the necro pulled out the pet and told the warrior to fight it. the warrior was owned like i had never seen before the pet took the warrior down to 15%hp before the warrior even did 10% dmg to the pet. it may have ****** hp but it can stand up well angainst players it is a monk it blocks the hell out of attacks

I have yet to put the 49 Warrior pet up against the 56 Monk pet, but from using him all the time I am pretty sure the monk pet will own the warrior one with no trouble.
He is easy to keep healed because of his lower HPS, but his dmg mitigation is much better so it is the best of both worlds. In old world zones he makes a good tank. Nothing I have used yet will hold up in PoP however. Even this monk pet gets owned in no time at all there. I just hope that LoZ or CoB at least will hold up some.. Otherwise they are just dps until they get hit just a few times and then they are dead.

Unless I'm mistaken, he does some flying kicks that are higher damage than 71 . Not as good as our rogue pet's backstabs, but doesnt have to be behind mob, which makes it an asset when you're grouped and not fear kiting, and your group's tanks like to move the mob all over the place.

Pet hits for (59) damage and Kicks for (71). This pet is reguarded as a monk.
