It is cureable with dispell. Not disease/poison or curse cureable.. kinda stinks with the new ooc regen system.

Radiant cure AA (at least RC2 and RC3) can cure it.

Are you sure about that?
I have it on right now... RC 4 followed by RC6 failed to remove it, then we went crazy. 6 casts of pure blood, 3 casts of antidote, 3 casts of RGC and by that time RC was up again... all to no avail.

It wore off naturally while I was typing this :)

Often get hit with Malo from the Kerran casters in the Barren Coast on my 64 druid.
Rank 1 of Radiant Cure usually cures it (that's all I have at the moment)

My ranger once tried over a dozen shots of Potameid Salve rk. 2 and that had no effect on Malo =/

of course the ranger cure wouldnt work.. it does not cure detrimental type spells, only spells with counters. Malo has No counters on it folks, so the only type of cure that works for it is if the cure spell says something about "Remove Detrimental". just check out the spell info for radiant cure line, it says "4: Remove Detrimental(1)" or such. Loqui, radiant cure is group only, so if you were trying to cure someone by targetting them and casting radiant cure, it won't work at all, also detrimental cures do not always work 100% of the time, they have the chance to fail.

figuring out how to cure something is easy. the cure lines say what and how many of something it cures. (for example cure poison removes poison counters. pure blood cures poison and disease.. Tash is 1 poison counter.. it's simple just look up the spell and see what counters it hits you with, and use the appropriate cure if the spell is one with "counters")

But like i said some spells Do not have any type of counter and are therefore not cureable via disease/poison/curse cures, only spells which have the chance to cure something detrimental. (and dispell of course but that's not really a cure)

Now, the curing portion of detrimental cures is Not always 100%, it has the chance to fail, which is why it does not always work to cure malo. Also keep in mind that the radiant cure line is Not a targetable cure, it only works on you and your own group. the only actual spell (which isnt an AA like cleric AA purify) that i know of which Is a targettable detrimental type cure is the shaman spell pure spirit.

Strategy?
# Jun 19 2003 at 4:28 PM Rating: Good
So does everyone just keep this loaded instead of Malosini, or do they use them together in a 1-2 punch, or does it depend on the MoB? (Since Malosini reduces resists by 60).

I suppose for a very high MR mob, the 1-2 punch makes sense to try and squeeze out every ounce of debuffing you can, but for most MoBs a debuff of 45 is sufficent?

Cast Malo(s) first because you are sure it will hold (unresistable). Now, if additionnal casters among your team/guild still report high resits, try to overwrite with Malosinia.

When we raid, we basicaly have 1 shaman dealing with Malo(s), 1 with Malosinia and 1 with Cripple for complete debuff. First 2 shamans cast on the same time their Malo***, then the 3rd one (casting Cripple) cast his spell like 2 secs later to be sure at least Malo(s) landed. The mob is then properly debuffed. At this time, get 1 shaman to cast an "alternative" (disease) slow then 1 casting the "regular" (magic) slow.

Conclusion : If you got at least 4 shaman in your raid and do this, you'll get your mob malo'd, crippled and slowed within the first 8 sec of the fight. This simple basic tactics work ok 90%+ of the raid encounters you'll face.

For a slightly less complicated setup, we usually use one shaman casting Malos and one enchanter tashing asap. The Shaman then applies magic slow if the mob is known to be magic slowable, and the chanter applies cripple. If/When the shaman gets the slow to stick, he will try to get malosinia on the mob before burn call. That part can be done by a mage also.

That's generally plenty to get the mob slowed and debuffed within first 20 seconds of engage. For rooted mobs it's even easier obviously.
