DI is the bomb

Since my main is cleric 70 and my husband is a 70 warrior we've had alot of chances to test this spell.

Do spend your AA's in Unfailing Divinity, I have noticed 10fold that my DI goes off nearly 100% of the time when put on another player no matter what their CHA is at.

a piece of parchment and a quill (same for all spells)

question

Since the OOW expansion does this still cost 2 emeralds? or did they do away with the jewels like they did for all the other buffs.
RE: question
# Dec 22 2004 at 5:30 AM Rating: Decent
Yup. My fiance's cleric goes through emeralds by the bag full. This is why clerics are loot whores - they sell the stuff and buy emeralds! =D
DI and UD

Let's not get Divine Intervention (spell) and Unfailing Divinity (AA) confused here. DI cast on your target's chances of going off factors in the buffed person's charisma, not the cleric. There are many places to find trials of DI success/failure based on charisma bearing this out. From my own personal experience once the tank has 150+ charisma it should go off reliably enough not to second guess the cost of the emeralds. With AA's and extended duration focus this buff lasts for 16 minutes and heals a max of 8k hp. Let's not forget that it came from the Kunark era and our tanks didn't have the hps they do now.
As far as UD is concerned, this AA has saved my life more times than I can count. Before putting in the AA's to get this DI would kick in a good portion of the time. Once I'd gotten all the other AA's worth anything I went back and got UD. Granted the tank I use it on has 160 charisma, but DI kicks in atleast 90% of the time when I use it on him. That's just my 2 copper...take it for what it's worth ;)

Divine Intervention doesn't work well unless the caster (cleric) has the AA Unfailing Divinity 3. With that AA maxed, the chance that DI works to save the person you've buffed with it goes up. It still won't always work, but usually works.

I would like to point out your statement DOESN'T WORK WELL...

I have to agree. I would suggest if you are a younger cleric without the AA's to blow on Unfailing Divinity, DON'T DO IT ! Your AA's are better spent elsewhere. I being one of those clerics wish I could get back what I have spent.

Stick with Death Pact on the Enchanter. Cheaper,Longer duration and heals just enough for me to save the chanter from going down.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

If you're planning on fighting a big mob, and you're the only healer, and there's only one tanking class. Divine Intervention is incredibly useful, and as this is your average group layout - Do spend your AA's in Unfailing Divinity.

still no dice after 20

20 casts, none saved yet, charisma on me, 186 (with buffage before cast). MT/RT/SA only get this buff before raids, and it has a terrible recast time. Always cast charisma buffs on MT/RT. I've only seen death pact work tbh, and it's worked everytime.. just not really an efficient heal in raid encounters. nor is the buffer it provides when mobs are hitting for a min of 1054 :) Someone please tell me if they get this to work!

that's some bad luck dude. I have UD2 and I've had DI trigger on a tank 4 tank in one fight (stupid AoW with lag spikes)... it pretty rarely misfires for me, maybe it just likes me hehe.

10 days later, maybe 30 casts later as well. Still no dice. Good thing emeralds are not as costly as say, star rubies for banishment :)

Yes I'm pretty sure it depends on the charisma of the caster not the casted.
DI works with CHR
# Feb 12 2004 at 2:45 PM Rating: Decent
Actually i Beleive the Chances go up with the Chraisma of the caster not the person that the spell is cast upon please post if you are for sure wether i am right or wrong. And a Quick Question how did a Paladin have a CHR of (15)

RE: DI works with CHR
# Feb 22 2004 at 1:43 AM Rating: Excellent
Charisma check goes for the target not the caster, so eventhough I'm a dorf with 48 CHA, it doesn't matter. As long as the target has decent Charisma it works.

Cha
# Jan 08 2004 at 10:30 PM Rating: Decent
The higher cha you have the better chance of DI activating on you. Before i quit we would always cast DI on the MT so if there was a slip in the CH rotation it would save him/her. It would fail for the MA probally once out of every 15 chances with around 200+ cha. For me, I had very low cha (15) it almost never worked for me. Probally once out of every 10 with 15cha.

Death Touch
# Dec 11 2003 at 2:51 AM Rating: Default
Death Touch does 21k damage instantly. So DI won't fire because there is too much overdamage.
Wrong

wrong, DI hits when u after the first attack that sends u below 15% hps. Heals for 8k
Buffs?
# Oct 03 2003 at 11:43 AM Rating: Decent
Does this spell also retain all buffs that were prevviously on you before your Divine Intervention saved yer *****

Yes. When you reach 0 Hp and Divine intervention is activated it act like a complete heal. You keep all buffs just like if you never died.

If i remember well, when spell effect is activated, its says TARGET been revived by Divine Intervention. This spell is very helpfull when you try hight level mobs. If one of your healers go link dead or lag slow the heal proces, this spell your second chance.

Worth the 2 emeralds cost to save a raid.

DI works when you reach 0 HP. It will work on harm touch and will even on a 20k hit point damages from falling.

DI works most of the time. There is still a chance that it will not work to.
death pack
# Sep 25 2003 at 11:11 PM Rating: Default
I still perfer Death Pack, chances are the same for an out of body experience, and I might get a heal off before the mob kills them again. All in all, death pack has worked fairly well, and last alot longer, uses only a peal, and cost much less in mana
OK this is what I know
# Jul 12 2003 at 7:02 PM Rating: Decent
When you cast this buff on someone. It requires two emerald components. Duration of buff is 10min. NOW when that someone who has this buff will get a % chance of Divine Intervention if they are killed ( Its like you blessed the bastage before the battle and asked your god to watch over them )
Anyway lets suppose your friend dies and the gods took pity on his soul ( I.E. he made his % save vs death ) Your friend would get a Complete heal and <poof> be alive once again only to die another horrible death because your oom from casting this spell on everyone and they didnt wait for you to get to full before the pull and that damn tank went afk again to get a soda then started watching MTV 'punked' before he remembered that he was playing EQ.......... Hu oh sorry bout that. Anyway that is what I know. Hope it helped.

How does this work?
# Jun 29 2003 at 2:53 PM Rating: Decent
Can someone explain exactly how this spell works, does it mean you cant die for 10min? Does it just keep healing the target for 10min or what?
RE: How does this work?
# Jan 08 2004 at 12:41 PM Rating: Decent
Means that if you are reduced to 0 or less hitpoints there is a chance that you will receive an 8k heal. From my experiences it is like the player never died, they don't fall down, they retain agro and buffs. This spell requires two emeralds to cast.
Percent chance?
# Mar 01 2003 at 2:20 PM Rating: Default
What's the percentage of a heal upon death with this buff on?

Contained in my log i have casted DI 108 times and it has saved my MT 5 times to (I would say) 30 MT deaths
I have to think this spell is well below 25% chance. I tend to DI MT / RT and I know I have lost MT at least 20 times w/ a total of 5 saves.
I have never tested it more in depth than that =(
RE: Percent chance?
# Mar 13 2003 at 9:58 AM Rating: Default
Full healt, its like you cast a lay hand on target, you loose the buff and gain all your HP.
Use 2 emerald, and only 10min, but is great to pull hard mobs.
