Your target must be level 35+ for this spell to stick, or at least that was true as of today on the Ragefire server (I don't expect it to be different on other servers, but I can't say I've tested it elsewhere to verify).

Use on Pets
# May 30 2009 at 7:59 PM Rating: Decent
If I am in a group with a tank I cast Werewolf (Boon of the Garouon)on the tank and Imp on pet. If I am soloing with pet or in group where pets are tanks I cast Werewolf on my pet. Nice Lifetap proc to help keep pet up, not counting the Wolfs buffs.

The other benifit is the pet then acts as normal pet with Attack, Guard, Back etc buttons. I have assist hotbutton with a /pet attack line that allows pet to attack automaticlly.

Use on Pets

It sticks to Kintaz's Animation (lvl 48), but I couldn't get it to stick on the previous one from lvl 41. The pet didn't gain any extra control options from having this illusion casted upon it. It has a duration of about 5:06 minutes, and a cooldown of 3:00 minutes
Not worth the effort

Recast time 3 hours? And the time to mem and then replace it takes longer than the Spell Duration.

Hardly seems worth it.

That recast time isn't 180min, it's 180sec. :)
Lifetap Proc Champanion
# Dec 23 2005 at 12:57 AM Rating: Decent
After starting a Chanter and seeing this spell, I have a fantascy about it now.

I'd like to get some of the cultural three-socketted weapons, one-handed versions, stuff them with LifeTap augs (yes, I checked it out, you can fill EACH slot, all 6 slots, with lifetap proc augs), or, alternatively, Black-Acylia weapons with LTproc augs, and have the melee character wielding these to be buffed with this spell, full proc-advancing AA's, max dex, crit procs, crit heal, and the Shaman Leopard on him. Oh, and, don't forget max item, Chanter, and Bard Haste! Along with the improved AA's to help Dual Wield and Double attack succeede.

Though I realize it'd take quite some time to track down these specific components, wouldn't it be amazing? Seven lifetap procs, one regular nuke proc, going off like crazy.

Fletching Buff

A couple of things to add to the comments above......

DEX is used as a secondary check for skilling up fletching. If you cast this on yourself or others they get one of the best DEX buffs to help with high end fletching there is in the game. The only things that can beat this for adding dex are the chanter scarecrow illusion which gives +120 Dex or the Shaman Avatar buffs which are not available to them until level 60.

Also when fighting undead, especially in a Mistmoore LDoN, make sure you cast this buff on the highest level Paladin in the group. Between their Ghoulbane and Instrument of Nife proc they light up like a christmas tree with this buff on them. Side note - best to lower the spell effects density so you can see adds incoming past all the fireworks.
Great Spell

My 44 War loves this buff. I invited a chanter to our group for his great crowd control, but now have a whole new reason to seek out that class. The dex made my two proc'ing 1hs swords fire off like crazy. Was a big help with my keeping aggro (also had SK, monk, and wizzie in group)
Level Limit
# Feb 21 2003 at 4:26 PM Rating: Decent
This spell won't affect anyone lower than level 44. Kind of sad, because by the time I got it, I still had to wait for all my friends to go up a few more levels before I could use it on anyone. It is a great spell though. The lifetap proc may be small, but it's very useful in a group with no healer.
Wow

I had alot of fun with this spell, being a 48 enchanter at the time, I received a tell to come to pog, ounce there, i wanted to use boon... only prob no procin weapon... 59sk, 56clr back up by a 63 clr who hang out with us, 52 monk, 54-57 wiz, 54 shm, and a monk who only had a 2hb weapon. Cleric was almost at FM, monk was very skilled. So cleric took out her 56 hammer, the high procing one, she was procing 7-12 time a fight, for 2k+ dmg output, greatly increapse dps of group, was fun to see reaction of group, she got her meleing skill up 8, really help out
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 22 2002 at 9:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Thank you verant for a worthless spell.....what is a chanter supposed to do with higher atk rating....this illusion is a tank buff. What does a chanter need a tank buff for? We die in 3 seconds trying to tank one blue mob, even with ac and hp gear on. When are we going to see some illusions with some original and useful effects on them? Like try illusion frog = really high long jumps, or illusion rat that makes you really small, or even illusion wisp that makes you partially immune to non-magical damage the way a wisp is! Come on verant! Try a little harder to do something new and cool!

To clarify, you cast this on other people. Like ur warrior or rogue or SK. the 100 dex make this proc quite a lot and 30 damage life tap doesnt sound like enough but when it goes off 8 times in a fight, well u see my point. this is also good for raising weapon skills if ur a caster and in that sorta thing.

Umm, notice this does not say self only?

Boon of the garou is an AWESOME spell. Not only does the added attack help, but +100 dex makes the proccing weapons start firing like mad (well, more often, at least) So say you're grouped with a warrior who has a veno axe, and frostbringer, a monk who has T-staff, etc.

Boon of the Garou would make that group MUCH more effective. Also, ask a 58+ cleric, who has one of those proccing hammers if he wants +100 dex, and see what he says :)
You CAN use it on self effectively as well!!!

Am I the only Enchantress that likes to jump into the fray with mobs during a battle? The
extra dex and attack that this spell gives me will be HUGE with my attack strategy. Whenever
I'm in a group without a cleric I fight right along side the tanks. Here's my method:

Tank pulls, I tash, slow, root then jump in with a weapon and "chain stuns". Not only do I and
my tank barely ever get hit thanks to the stuns but as soon as I do I have a fully buffed dual
wielding animation to jump in and take my place so I can go back to medding. This method is
simply awesome and it helped me get both 1HB and pierce nearly to 100 at lvl 39. Now I just
have to work on 2hb (but I hate being without my Stein of Mogguk).

Don't think for a second that an enchanter can't last 10 seconds wielding a weapon at higher
levels. It won't work forever so better to get your 1HB skills up early for when you get your epic.

Re: The Enchanter who likes to Tank... Hmmm... I'd have to think twice about that one... if you're tanking a mob and have attack on.. you'd have to turn attack OFF before turning on other targets which substantially increases the likelihood of breaking MEZ on already controlled mobs. If you were in my group and you stood up and started tanking I'd be outta there faster than you can say ... < Loading... Please Wait >

I was excited to be able to finally give my grp members a buff but the thing i didnt like is that it took so long to be able to recast and it didnt seem to last long. not sure if my tank got dispelled or not but she didnt have it on long at all.

Well, it seems some of the tanks just click it off, getting annoyed with the illusion component of this super-melee-buff.
What I usually do, in a new group:
1. /g <<MT>>, what is your DEX/ATK?
2. MT replies.
3. I cast Boon on MT.
4. /g <MT>, and now?
5. MT usually replis: Woot!!!!
6. All other melee, pseudo-melee group members: me too! me too!

Also, as others have said, I used it to get my piercing from 1 to 110 in Cobalt Scar while soloing there. Next is my 1HB.
