I've been begging for a group version ever since "Mana Flare" first came out. It'll never happen.

Most Enchanters nowadays are either someone's buff-bot, or a raid's "tag-a-long" buffer; few play one as a main anymore. SOE's changed directions so many times, I don't think they have a clue what our role is anymore.

I no longer wonder why it is that every other Enchanter in my Guild switched to another main. Quite frankly, I'm thinking of switching to my Lvl 80 / 2029 AA Cleric as a main, and put all this nonsense behind me. It's just discouraging to spend over a year pointing out the obvious, and be met with more of the same (but twice as buggy).

Need C? Pop a potion...or sit for 30 seconds.
Need Haste? Pop a potion and a Yaulp VIII.
Need crowd control? Pffft, that's what the Clerics are for: to heal the off-tanks. Most Guilds don't even know how to work with Enchanters who mezz anymore.

SOE took a few steps in the right direction a year or so ago, but they stopped FAR short of where they should've. We're still so marginalized that no Guild wants more than 3 Enchanters (and most won't tolerate more than 2...at least, not on raids); our abilities don't stack (with the exception of a very few spells), so having more than 1 to buff, 1 to debuff, and 1 as a spare is a waste of a valuable slot that could go to someone with *real* DPS...and a higher survivability quotient, to boot.

Oh hell, who am I kidding? Right or wrong, marginalized or not, I'm still in love with my Enchanter...even if no-one else is. Once I've recovered from my stroke, I'll go back to plugging away at it; in the meantime, I hope SOE reverses its long-held strategy of ignoring us, and our suggestions. So far, it's worked great for THEM (i.e., they've not had to do much of anything, and haven't faced near the level of whining the Necros give them)...but WE still ain't doing so hot.

Ok, i am getting so tired of trying to find spell info and hints, and keeping to run into whiners like you. No wonder you got a stroke my good man, stop letting Sony make you feel neglected and start learning how to charm, and your exp will poor into your pocket.

Charming db mobs at lvl 78 gives me ~3-4% reg exp for the two mobs (you do of course kill you "pet" after the mob dies, by invis/root/dot or even sink ya regular pet on it after it starts running), or ~17% aa exp, and thats for watching two mobs beat eachother up in less than 2 min. Whats more fun than that? Or are you to scarred of dieing?

So, crit aa's up, defensive aa's up, sticky root aa's up, and Edict of Command aa, and you are golden Mister whiner.

(Or if you are lazy go to a lb zone and use your regular summoned pet with teme/worg/bea and Prime gear and weps, he will tank most mobs, just gotta know which ones to kill).

Heck you can even buy Intricate or Elaborate gear for him and stick it on him (which is also what i sometimes do with charmed mobs so i can do a named too).

At 77 i killed Strategist in WoS solo by using a dragorn knight with Intricate plate gear and the lvl 65 proc mage summoned weps + girdle/mask + Haste. But must admit i did die once, trying to get the gear back from him hehe. Second try i killed him with another charmed knight that i just gave summoned gear (sorry if someone ran into him in a lower lvl group)

outta all the classes...
the enchanter has to be the most neglected of all,
and yet brings the most dps to groups or raids...
but there ability to survive on there own is unbearable and soloing even with learners aura on to XP is the worse of any toon in game...

I love my Enchanter too, and play it because of the importance it brings to progression tasks, groups and raids... in my opinion they are superior to Shammys in all aspects...

I would really like to see some serious upgrades to our Illusion focus lines
and maybe making us able to charm a few levels above the current cap...
also an aa that allows an instant blurr to the charmed mob when it breaks would be nice too...

and how about some descent DPS Nukes and Dots...
i can crit to a max 10k only, usually 7k-ish...
and imho this is far to weak,
the root AA is a joke... the banish root is better...
come on SoE... cut us Chanters some slack

Simply not true, when you charmkill you actually kill 2 mobs at the same time, thus making twice the exp.

Just need to time the kill of mob #1 to where your -pet- should be below 15% so when u break charm its already turned and starting to walk away from u, the root or nuke it, very efficient imo. Simply wait and watch the match switching targets, and only slow or nuke at the right time, dont get greedy and try to kill more than 1 mob with your charmed pet, it will probably break charm or die before mob #2 is dead or turned.

When you've charmed a zone for a while, you will know which mobs to charm, and what to do on each diffeent mob slow or dot or nuke. I find in most cases stacking 1-3 dots will be just about enough to have charmed turn at the right time, not slowing or hasting anything, although in certain cases, maybe if you're killing a named you might wanna haste the charmed pet and slow, and do stay FAR away from the fight, and try to have you PET targettet most of the time, so you can quicly re-charm if it breaks.

Not easy at times when the randomizer screws you 2-3 times in a row and charms breaks after 1-3min but in most cases with AA's up you are golden.
