Confirm this. Enchanter made is Enchanter only. Wizard made is Wizard only.

With spells for classes that do not research any of the 4 research classes can make them. So although it is for Shaman or Cleric it can be made by necro, wiz, chanter, or mage. The only time it is restricted to research by class is when it is for that int class.
I'm looking at a version of this spell scroll in my inventory that is enchanter ONLY. level 39, mana cost 80, lasts for 1 minute. Unfortunately I have just loaded up on spells so i'm not sure exactly where I got it from (either thurg or bazaar from a trader).
Is there a version that my shaman can use, or has this spell been changed to enchanter-only?

Illusionist Jerup (POK ) does sell the version of this spell Wizz can use as well as CLR, Shm, Nec, Ench I paid 8p 3g 9 s 9 c with 116 cha 11/15/2005

If you compare this seplls stats to Instill youre paying 20 more mana for a spell that lasts 2/3 as long. immobilize is 80 mana for 10ticks; instill is 60 mana for 15 ticks. oh, and i think instill casts faster too.

This isn't the complete details, so perhaps someone else could post them. There are supposedly 2 lines of root (not including druids').
1st line will hold the critter imobile for a longer time, and it's great for dots which do *not* have an initial dd component.
2nd line lasts shorter, but it stands up to DD spells much better, and has a lesser chance of breaking when DD is cast.

Root sticks much more than this. Every upgrade to root has been less effective then the original.

Just use root! Its cheaper, quicker to cast, and sticks a lot more then this peice of crap.

Not sure what you are talking about. Root has a casting time of 2.00 secs and lasts 8 ticks.
Yes, this spell casts faster than Root, which is why it's what I always use in combat.
