Just wanted to say how TSS is the most Enchanter friendly expansion in a while, lol. This spell is awesome, I just got Rk. II to drop in Vergalid Mines, and when I ding 73 its going to totally replace Psychosis. Nearly 2000 dmg, more than that if you have focus effects, with crits probably over 4K easy. And goes against lowest resist, what more can you ask for?

I have max crit AAs (Volatile Mana 3/3 and Mana Fury 3/3).

I also wear a Praetorian's Energeiac Silky Wristband. (Yes, I take a hit in the stats...but Focus effects mean much more to me than raw hp/mana ever will.)

I average 5k-6k crits, without any additional modifier. The Tier 4 DoN AA (Power of the Keepers) provides an additional chance to crit, but does not increase the damage of the crits produced.

When using Mana Recursion Rk. II, I've seen a single nuke land for 12k (and change).
Polychromatic Assault Rk. II = 6k (crit)
Mana Recursion Rk. II (first strike) = 2.1k (crit)
Mana Recursion Rk. II (second strike) = 2.1k (crit)
Mana Recursion Rk. II (third strike) = 2.1k (crit)

That ain't nothing to sneeze at. Add in the damage-over-time from Mind Phobiate Rk. II (which, given a primary Specialization: Alteration & a detrimental mana preservation Focus, along with the mana-tap recourse effect, can do close to 4k damage for around 60 mana), and there've been raid wipes where I was actually summoned and spanked before the Wizards were.

(Of course, I'm sure some of it had to do with the fact that Wizards got a HUGE upgrade to their Jolt line, whereas Enchanters did not.)

4k crits? hehe good news, it's even better than that. with maxed crit aa's and no focus, my crits have been between 4k-7k (6.4k-7k require help from bards and/or druids). i imagine with the chromatic focus from demiplane, the crits will range from 5k-8k, which is respectable.

If you look closely, our primary DD spells are no longer Magic based, but Chromatic based. So any items you have with a dd modifier for magic based spells will no longer work. The new tash spell however, does have a dd modifier for chromatic based spells, so it is effective on this nuke. Have yet to see an item with a focus for Chromatic dd spells, but I would assume they are out there.

I take back what I said up above. I found an item that has Chromatic Spell Damage Modifier.

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=46722

Chromatic Arc V
1: Increase Spell Damage by 60%
2: Limit: Max Level(70) (lose 10% per level over cap)
3: Limit: Effect(Hitpoints allowed)
4: Limit: Instant spells only
5: Limit: Spell Type(Detrimental only)
6: Limit: Target(AE PC v1 excluded)
7: Limit: Target(PB AE excluded)
8: Limit: Target(Targeted AE excluded)
9: Limit: Target(Uber Giants excluded)
10: Limit: Target(Uber Dragons excluded)
11: Limit: Combat Skills Not Allowed
12: Limit: Resist(Chromatic allowed)

I'm almost positive that the Max Level cap was raised to 72 at the release of Serpent's Spine. That would make this item give you a 54% spell damage mod, cast a rank 3 Echo of Tashan to add another 7% for a total of 61% damage mod. Cast the rank 3 Polychromatic Assault spell (2043 unmod damage) and you'll have a direct damage spell landing for 3300, non crits. Crits could probably hit 7k with the proper AA's.

Heck, while I'm at it, let pretend you have a bard in your group singing their level 70 Ancient Call of Power song (additional 30% damage mod to spells). Cap on bard song is level 70, so our level 73 nuke would receive 21% additional damage from it. 21% + 61% = 82%. 2043 x 82% = 3718 non crit hits. Crits would hit for probably 7500+, i'm guessing 8k with the added crit damage aa's. That's kick *** dps for a chanter. I'm not complaining...

The ring I have from there still shows max level 70 for that focus.

There's a measly 25% focus from a DoDH mission. Not the calibur of the above item, but free and easy if you don't have it elsewhere.

Chromatic Fury V is the effect, the aug is "Drachnid Focusing Lens". I can't remember which mission it was from (want to say 70.1 normal version but don't quote me, it's been a loooong time since I got it).

It's actually that horrible mission 69.4 (Rescue Cisero) that gives the Drachnid Focusing Lens. https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=50917

Quite frankly, I loathe that mission. Cisero can stay unrescued for all I care, the little pest.
