ok having given this some of my time i think i understand this parse.
(100/5/70)
im not entirely sure on the 100 but knowing how sony ticks its max level for spell to work. so as my understanding goes, as long as all other spell criteria are met then [ (100/5/70) = (maxlvl/procrate (5%)/ minlvl) ]
to further confirm this, drink of vitae parses as such;
(100/33/0) and i know for sure that it works on any level plant ive killed and does indeed pop a shard a third of the time on average.

This can't be right, was in BoT last night at 72, and collected a few EEs from the non named, light blue con mobs.
Confirmed. Recieved an EE from a LB to 72 Jord Tyv at entrance.
maybe the 5%@70 is a base modifier with more or less chance as different levels, will have to work on it some more =/

Finally, at level 75 I got my first Essence Emerald to pop.
In the Crypyt of Decay. In fact I've had 5 pop in 2 days, it's gre at. It was funny though I spent time with a group there mass killing mobs and never saw one but when 2 of us were .. Bingo! and when I went back to solo it dropped several, say 2 or 3 in a half hour.
There seems to be no message you get one. You see it on your cursor though.

Actually, you do, in fact, receive a message when Venin grants you an essence emerald. "You receive a congealed essence from your foe." Either it's been quietly added in after the fact, or it may have just gotten lost in battle spam.

Ok. I have done 4 "The Serpent Slayer" quests today (Killing 20 Serpents each quest), killing nearly every single one with this spell (around 100 mobs), and I haven't gotten a single EE. Was this Sony's idea of a cruel joke? It's really sad to do this Sony. Better just to take the chance to get an EE (if you can call it a chance, more like an act of God) off the spell instead of mocking necro's with it.
Unlike Drink of Vitea this seems to have to land on higher level mobs to produce an EE ( duh.
Also the 3 different marks of teh spell only increase damage and dont seem to affect % chance of producing EEs
The spell was given to us cuss people at the official forums prior to this expansion have raised the question about the reduced availability of EEs as the player base matures and less people reroll.
Especially crucial for servers like FV.
The spells purpuse is not to give you an infinite supply of EEs. The main source of EEs will still be sacrefise. However This will increase the overall availability of EEs. A handful of EEs a week is better then no EEs.

I have yet to receive an EE from this spell... admittedly I have only Rk. I.
I am also reasonably sure the mob has to be an XP mob to get the EE... just for BCs I took this spell to Kurn's and laid waste for an hour or so. If SoE was really clever, they'd require the mob be level 46+.

Since the latest patch I have not seen a single EE. I have the Rk.II of the spell, I do not know if they nurfed the EE rate but one might thing as you get better versions of these spells you would get better rewards.. Oh Well at least I can waste more mana every time I try to get an EE - Timing kill shot is hard enough, with its slow casting time. IMOP If it remains like this its almost worthless to spend a spell slot on it.

I have gotten my only two since the last patch. Both of them off of Light Blue cons in Barindu.
If I had to guess I would say that I have gotten the killshot on around 100 various Green, Lite Blue and Dark Blue mobs. The extreme majority of the mobs being Lite Blue.
So 2 out of 100 or so really seems ok to me (This is rk1 btw. Not sure if EEs pop up more with higher ranks). I doubt I would use it during a lot of normal exp sessions, but for faction/farming stuff that happens to be easy blues, it is icing on the cake.

well. I use this spell on raids for just helping to kill trash. When I was keeping track of the killshots, I did get my one and only EE at about the 4th or 5th kill shot.
I've about 30 or so kill shots since and haven't seen another EE.
I expect there is a percentage, and I expected it to be about 5% which would be 1 in 20ish. Perhaps there is a bug somewhere? Or EEs are just not as common as I'd like, or the RNG is being plain rude.

If anyone knows what the three numbers (100/5/70) mean, we'd appreciate it if you'd let us know.
I have had two EE's get created from this spell. I was soloing a 69.1 mission, the mobs were yellow. Prior to that, I would have better luck at becoming the President of the U.S.A. than having an EE appear.
I would bet it will become more frequent once you get the higher versions of this spell.
Got to admit, any chance of an EE producing is awesome.
This spell definately ranks up there as one of the best for this new expansion.

"If you slay your target with this spell there is a chance an essence emerald will be created"...is that only on xp mobs? what about greenies (grey's i guess now). if anyone gets this spell to trigger leave a post

i got an EE from light blue. probably from green as well, cause they give exp now
