you take your weapon and right click with it on the poison filled vial.

no, all you have to do is right click poison to apply
If you are just right clicking it, it cant be in a bag- i save a slot in my main inventory, and have that slot hotkeyed. That way I can poison between pulls and put another in the slot during a fight.

Can someone please explain whether or not you can apply multiple poisons to your weapons? I happened to do this the other day with an Inject poison and a Muscle Lock poison, and they both took effect at the same time when I hit my target. Then I tried a Paralyze and a Blind poison at the same time and it only blinded the target. Whats going on here? Can you only double up certain poisons (and if so which ones) or is it a bug of some sort? The ability to double up poisons is certainly useful indeed, especially in pvp.

I just got poison making and read that you can't really advance in it for a few levels by actually making the poisons only by training. What is the lowest level we can begin to advance poison making in? Thanks.

How did you make it to lvl 60 with that attitude? The guy just asked a question. If it bothers you that much, why did you waste your time answering it. In fact I don't believe you did make it to lvl 60. Either you're lying about your lvl or you bought your acct from ebay.
Woot! I agree with Sir Bilbo Baggins of Bag End here. If you want to have a sucky attitude like that, wake up and use it in the real world (no that's not a new planar zone Verant is programming) and keep that trash out of EQ. I quit playing Starcraft cuz B-Net turned into, well...the B-Net we all love today. Don't make me quit playing EQ too.

You probably can but you should practice piercing because your epic weopon is a piercing weopon. Hope i helped a little.

Ok, I've searched everywhere I could think of. I have a pretty decent list of poisons and their ingrediendts, probably not nearly all of them, but it will do, but I can't find ANY information on dyes except when they are trivial... Any info would be appreciated.

Be warned that dyes are probably harder to get materials for than poison, unless you get lucky and find the spawn points before anyone else (might be easier now the rush for dyes has faded some).
You might also want to look at brewing. This is a useful support skill, not only for poison, but also for smithing, where tempers are needed to make cultural armour. This all takes time and dedication though to get the required components - make sure you have plenty to spare before attempting them!

For all of you young rogues who prefer using weapons OTHER than piercing in your primary slot (you have a great 1hs or 1hb weapon or you're trying to raise skill) :
You CAN poison any weapon in your primary weapon hand simply by applying the poison with a piercing weapon, and then switching in the non piercing weapon. You dont actually apply poison to the weapon, you apply poison to the weapon slot.
I've successfuly used poison with Runed Falchions, Yak War Clubs, Barbed Whips etc.

Young rogues? You have both skills neccessary at lvl 20. By this time, you can BS well into the 70's with a decent weapon. And the big question is, Why have a 1HS primary when you could do more dmg with a piercer?

White Hellbore is used in Visionstic Pain. Sealed Vial, Larent Suspension, 2 White Hellbore. Trivial at around 200 though... Contact type poison (DD)

The stuff's for making the extract for dying armor, so, technically, it's not a total waste for rouges since it's only them and shamans that can make the extract.

Hail, in norrath there are mainly two types of rogues, the ones that go for all str, and a good damage ratio weapon, (i.e. barb/dworf w/ a trak tooth and a base str of 120 complimented w/ all ac/str items) or a skillful rogue (one that brings str to a decent but not to high of a level, and then tries to raise his dex to the absolute highest he can get it.) So what do you all think? Harder Hitting or Better Proc's and quick moves. I'm personally all about the skill and speed, though many respectable rogues I know stick to str, and additions to this are appr. all I wanna do is deal the most damage =).

Actually i agree a little with both, I playa barba and ai like it for str, but i keep the agi up high as well and always travel with poison andhave even been know to keep poison daggers primed right before combat and hot key them in and out. For me I like str and agile coupled with the only thing that is going to keep your rogue alive, cunning and skill. nice post by the way so. for most damage get a good piercer with good proc, carry otsa poison, keep the str and agi as high as possible while balanced. keep the dex close to that. soem of those items will have haste effects or magic users can haste you. So with you skills all avg. with a slight lean to str and agi you will be one fast, hard hitting terror machine. dont worry bout ac it comes with the good items :)

I would have to agree with previous post. A balace is best. I find that a STR of around 140 is good for me right now (lvl 29) and dex at about 120. Also high skills. But I try and solo as much as possible. Great idea on hotkeying poisoned daggers Shadow. Have to do that sometime...

Unfortunately you can't poison a weapon, only the slot the weapon goes in. If you put poison on your Burning Rapier while its in the secondary slot, then swap it out for a slashing weapon before the fight starts, then the first time you hit with that slashing weapon in combat, you will 'cast' a poison on whatever you hit. Hot-keying a weapon in or out for poison purposes will do nothing but waste your time and limit things you are paying attention to in combat.
Kelthur, I assume you are some sort of barbarian or Dwarf type, because at level 39, with +48 STR from items, my STR is still only 113. Of course, both my DEX and AGI are above 180, so I guess that balances...

ashroot drops offa the fire sprites and/or imps, i cant remember which, but they r found in lavastorm. grave mold can be found on a lot of stuff in unrest. sry i dont know n e of the others

Is it posible to increase the charges on a vial of poison?
i just started this a few days ago, but im having to make a whole vial for each charge i use, then i noticed that in the discription it says Charges: 1, is it posible to just increase that number without having to make a whole nother vial? Thanks

Can you put poison on an arrowhead, or can it only be used on primary-hand piercing weapons?

You can only poison peircing weapons. I have yet to try poisoning a pericing weapon that can be thrown, but I also hear that it is the SLOT not the actual weapon that is poisoned. Dunno, could be different now.

How do you apply poison to your weapon? I cannot find any info on this skill that is very useful. How do you make poisons, you have to have a veil, then what?

we first, u pick up weapon left click, right click on vial (cannot be in container) then put it back on, there u go, to make poison, u need a mixing bowl (there is a store to right of monk guild, go to her, sneak behind her, she sells a mixing bowl, then put the components into the bowl and mix it (such as: 3 asp sacs(or 2 don't remember) suspention (where can i find one of these/make if anyone knows?) and the vial( pottery skill)
note: here is a useful item to conserve space for of ur inventory - Grizzly bear potion bag ( put 10 of any potions in and u will give 10 charges of that potion in 1 inventory slot)
here is a nice quest to get poisons if u cant make yet: dwarf in dagnors cauldren wants 3 giant wasp sacs and 30gp, u get a poison pot for that, another super great quest is the bug collection (look it up in misty thicket quest page) really rewarding u get a 10charged strong poison potion

OOOOK, on this page many people are saying that you poisin the slot, not the weapon...SAH WEEET! But, does this mean I can put a dagger (just for example) into my range slot, poison it, then put throwing daggers in it and use them to poison my next victim? If so, that would kick nutz! Also, I haven't even reached the right lvl to poison, but I'm gettin a head start, how long does a poison last?

I would like to state. that i am haveing a hard time raiseing skill, but am very thank for the fact that i had 33 training points saved up. and when i first put a point into skill it set it at (20) automaticly. and i started at (53)

actually, not all poisons contained dropped items...some of them you can purchase everything.... However, it is much cheaper to buy the skill than to try to increase it by using it.

Colored dye is used to dye forged plate mail. if you see someone with green plate its usualy dyed or an item found on a mob. that is what its used for.

Stopping at my usual ranger merchant in Lesser Faydark, I noticed a book I had not seen there before, entitled "Scouts Poisons." The inside cover reads "Expin's Scout Handbook." The book contains recipes for poisons which affect only animals. The book indicates that the poisons are sanctioned by Tunare, so I have to wonder if these are poisons usable by non-rogues. Has anyone more familiar with the art of poisons come across this book, or does anyone know if these are still rogue-only?

As a young Scout o' Tunare, I know COmmon, Elvish and Thieves... And have a dwarf friend who would probably let me learn dwarvish for free (im lucky). But... what are all the books? Only one I know about is 'Tattered Book'. Oh, and for you woodie rogues, Toxdil wont attack you, but you have to use sneak. ok here's my experiences with poison vials and the make poison skill. I have noticed that even though it is usually cheaper to buy the components for an item and make it yourself than buy the finished product from a vendor, it is still cheaper to buy the regular poison vials than make them yourself. However, in the case of the lined and sealed vials, you will most definitely want to make these yourself using pottery. Lined vials are nearly tripple the price of a regular vial and the sealed vials are about five times the price of a regular vial. Since the regular vials are only marginally cheaper than the pottery components that go into making one, the lined and sealed vials can be obtained at a greatly reduced price if you make them yourself, compared to the regular vials.
In other words, get that pottery skill up and make your own lined and sealed vials, it will save you a lot of money in the long run. And since the patch for poison, you don't have to worry about losing the vial if you fail the make poison attempt so any vials you lose during the pottery attempts will be made up for when you fail those poison attempts. Now you need to be pretty highly skilled at pottery to make vials, let alone lined or sealed, but if you check out the pottery sections on this site, it should be no problem getting the skill up, it's one of the quickest skills to learn.
