Brewing

Brewers are the popular purveyers of potables ranging from beer to wine to vodka.

What are the best strategies for developing and using the brewing skill? Which recipes are the best, and which are the worst? Which cities are the best places to practice your trade? Can you make a profit from brewing, and if so how?

Post your strategies on how to best develop and use the brewing skill, and read, rate and comment on those posted by others.

Brewing, ok I admit it, this is my favorite skill. It is one thing to claim that maxed tolerance and another to show up to a raid with the cool unheard of drinks to hand out. Just combine these in a Brewing Barrel. They can normally be found on the merchants nearby the barrel just look around.

Notice that though I am Druid, none of these recipes require forging.

Short Beer (Trivial at 31)
Cask, Barley, Hops, Malt

Mead (Trivial at 41)
Cask, Hops, Malt, Yeast

Heady Kiola (Trivial at 46)
Bottle, 2 Kiola Saps, Water Flask

Ale, Short (Trivial at 51)
Cask, Barley, Hops, Water Flask

Ale (Trivial at 68)
Cask, Barley, Malt, Water Flask

Ol'Tujim's Fierce Brew (Trivial at 135)
Cask, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Malt

2x Brewed 2x Stout Dwarven Ale (Trivial at 142)
Cask, 2 Dwarven Ale, 2 Short Beer

Minotaur Hero's Brew (Trivial at 207+)
Cask, 3 Malts, Yeast, 2 Water Flasks, 2 Short Beer

I read your post, as I myself have become a Master Brewer (136), I must admit, I like the brewing, the relaxed atmosphere, the distorted view from being so drunk I can't feel my toes. It's a hobby I can do when my real life friends aren't on, so I don't get too far ahead of them.

I'm a Wood Elf Druid, a master forager (168) and I've spent a lot of time looking for new recipes. I was intrigued by your list and appreciate your preferred list of recipes...

As for other posts on this forum, I love to get out in a group and make everyone play my game. I pick people in the group, 1 at a time and challenge them to a roll, a /rand 100 and the low man drinks. I keep an array of products on me and pass out different ones as other lose. I'm not shy to drink my own brew, even as a Druid who only feel the brunt of indulgence. I find that it keeps the group active while the tank is out pulling. When I heal, I'm sure to use regeneration often on the tanks, so that they sit and play too. Some drink to remember, some drink to forget, some drink for courage and I drink for fun.

As for why I replied here. For those looking to move their skills up the line cheap and easy, here's a little recipe I came across. You can't drink it, it's not alchohol, but if your short on platinum and down on your copper, this will get you to 122.

Fetid Essence (Trivial 122)
1 Fishing Grub (bought 4 cp)
1 Flask of Water (bought 1 sp 4 cp)

I liked this one because it was less mouse clicks, hope it helps.

A friend with mead is a friend indeed...

My 2 cp...
